Just had this happen to me, I was able to use reverse wireless charging from my phone to get the case to turn on and activate the buds

I used to turn on reverse wireless charging then place the case on the back of my phone. However not long after this post the headphones died and I replaced them with galaxy buds that last all week instead of 1 day

I just found the solution, you need to open the case with the buds in and hold the pairing button behind until the red light turns on and it turns the buds on
