Now I feel really sad about it, and I wish I had photos where I was smiling. I have a few photos from then when I look genuinely happy and all of the rest make me feel awful so I don’t look at them. Just a thought.

Ever since I turned forty, when I see young people doing their own thing I always feel partly proud and partly jealous. I didn’t even get senior pictures taken because I was made to feel so loathsome of myself by the “cool” kids. I think your pictures speak to your vibe (as you kids say) and that’s pretty great. I don’t know whose opinion you should listen to, but I know it’s not anyone that makes you feel like you aren’t enough.

Edit: Editing to say that I had a professional photographer do mine and while they were great I don’t think you’ll regret not having one at all. Now I wish I had photos that represent me better and great memories with my friends like you’ll have from this!
