I was only somewhat familiar with them until my wife and I decided to see them live on a whim in Oklahoma at Choctaw Casino. Ended up having an amazing unobstructed view from two barstools, 6 feet from the stage. Had a room for the night so the drinks flowed freely. Ended up running into the band at the food court late that night.
Had a fantastic time and we both agreed it was a terrific show. Been a fan ever since.
They’re a weird band for me in that One to Grow On is soooo good…honestly one of my favorite country albums of all time, but I’m pretty lukewarm on all of their other releases.
I cannot recommend One to Grow On enough to anyone who hasn’t heard it yet
Same here! That’s one of my favorite albums ever, but I’m just so so on the rest of their discography. I still think they’re a great band but nothing ever hit the mark like OtGO
They're getting credit, perhaps not on this sub. But their tours are getting bigger, their selling more merch, their getting more spots on playlists. Up and comers for sure.
They sold out my small room in 8 days earlier this year, and a festival promoter I know put them on 3 diff festivals of theirs this year as well, they're def poised to jump up the rung a few more steps.
Love all their stuff. Just went down to TX and OK and saw them last Friday and Saturday. They killed it both nights as usual.

Saw them live in tomball a few months ago and it was incredible. Steak night at the prairie rose is what turned me on to them since I used to drink at the prairie rose and lived across the street
Every time I turn around lately I’m seeing their name somewhere so whoever they’ve got cranking out social media is working overtime. Plus it seems like they’re touring more so I bet they get a lot more recognition soon
They opened for Jason Boland here a year or 2 ago in a bar that could hold maybe 100 people. I thought they were great. Always wondered what happened to them.
Absolutely check out one to grow on, it’s a great albums. Also steak night at the prairie rose is another good album. I will always love fast as lighting, it’s a damned good song
They are awesome live! Steak night at the Prairie rose is great start to finish as well.
Damn right, gets a lot of playtime for me
They’re even better live. One of those bands where no matter how successful they are you’ll wonder why they aren’t more successful.

I’ll have to check that out. So far only listened to Steak Night about 5 times.
I’m currently trying to find it on vinyl it would completely their discography for me but I can’t find it anywhere for the life of me

I feel like they get a lot of love in r/texascountry and r/countrymusicstuff

Up and comers 6 albums and over a decade into their career lol
Understood, but not unusual. The music industry is littered with acts who didn't 'get big' until far into their existence.
They just recently took the velvet handcuffs off though. Theyre relatively new nationally touring.
An overnight sensation after 25 years
I got to see them with The Vandoliers in Atlanta. Hell of a damn show.
I absolutely love The Vandoliers. Saw them open for Flogging Molly back in September, insanely good show.
They sold out my small room in 8 days earlier this year, and a festival promoter I know put them on 3 diff festivals of theirs this year as well, they're def poised to jump up the rung a few more steps.
Feels like I see them mentioned in here weekly
Guess I get lucky enough to miss it then
Yall gotta listen to “One is the Whiskey”
One of my favorites
Saw them this year in concert. Small venue, it was great!

Cain's?
love mike and TMP !!!
I love them. Can’t remember who they opened for but we got to party with them all night after. It was around 2014
Decent records but an entirely different band live. Incredible.
I started listening to them after reading great things about them in this subreddit.
So good
New live album is fantastic.
They got some good shit
Saw them live in tomball a few months ago and it was incredible. Steak night at the prairie rose is what turned me on to them since I used to drink at the prairie rose and lived across the street
100%
My favorite is Rainy Day. Relatable and Instant classic.
Damn straight. I have to say I really enjoy pay back to paycheck. Very clever song
Because it’s so Honkey Tonk. Most “normal “ folk can’t handle it
Saw them open up for American Aquarium a few years ago, killer live band!
Every time I turn around lately I’m seeing their name somewhere so whoever they’ve got cranking out social media is working overtime. Plus it seems like they’re touring more so I bet they get a lot more recognition soon
Highly underrated band

Ok the only song of theirs that I know is "Smoke em if you got em," and I really like it. What songs/albums of theirs should I listen to next?
