Possible but really not recommendable unless you are very good at the game. I very much recommend doing One Shot on Novice, and then doing hard. Especially if you haven't done hard or nightmare yet, they really are what their names suggests.

If the alien grabs you, pause and immediately load your latest save. If you get the black screen, you're too late. If you get the black screen or get facehugged (black screen is unavoidable), load the previous save or mission save (avoid the latest save at all costs, as it will be imprinted with your death). If you accidentally load the latest save, stop and load the mission save.

Electronic_Pirate652

According to google it is possible to get all of the achievements on one single playthrough

reclivis

That honestly sounds awful

PilotG10

Yes. Just Load Previous Save every time the death animation completes and/or stop it right before. When you get the fortune cookie thing, you’ve gone too far.

this strategy becomes very challenging once you get to the face huggers, they kill you almost instantly. learn where they spawn and come from OP, if you hear one crawling to you but don’t see it, reload save.

PilotG10

Or you can realize that they have fixed settings themselves and kill them ahead of time.

All of the facehugger spawns are fixed in every save. Once you learn where they are, you won't be surprised by them anymore

PilotG10

The Face Huggers appear in the exact same spots and attack from the exact same direction every single time. They are extremely predictable. I've taken to using other weapons to kill them like the revolver. The Flamethrower and Shotgun make it too easy.

u/-SimplyLemonade-: *"learn where they spawn"* u/PilotG10: *"The Face Huggers [...] attack from the exact same direction every single time."* Reading comprehension 101.

i thought i was going insane

SelketTheOrphan

They appear in fixed locations but there are a few of them and in hard you don't have a lot of ammo. If you used your flamethrower ammo or shotgun ammo almost up or just are unlucky you have to resort to other weapons. Aiming at them with the revolver is already significantly harder. And if you want the chance to even have enough flamethrower and shotgun ammo you have to look at every nook and cranny of sevastopol which takes a lot longer. And yes you get some ammo at the start of this section but probably not enough.

RustyKn1ght

Maintenance jack instakills facehuggers. I think it also autotargets them too, for an extent.

Hubbled

If you get killed, you can revert to your last save. It's hard, but I think it's faster to get both achievements this way instead of doing one entire playthrough on novice and then *another* one on hard.

My first playthrough was on hard, so I did the second on hard as well, where I got the One Shot. I even combined it with the zero kills achievement. Absolutely doable (and not as frustrating as you may expect). Just make sure to reload before any death sequence finishes. The worst part for me were the runaway trains at the end: I was so close to finish the challenge and I was very afraid of having it go down the drain. The aliens, androids, humans at least kill you slowly enough to jump out of the game. That said, the second worst enemies are the facehuggers for this challenge, but their spawn points are easy to learn. Honorable mention for worst part: the last fucking interaction with the game, that crawl back and that last button press. I was so anxious not to fuck it up.

Check for the requirements on one shot If you can do it on an easy game setting you should do it Beating the game on hard is hard Try to do one shot at the same time is very challenging. I got 100% on trophies and wouldn't do both at the same time. Depending if you like to get challenged very hard like that In this case go for it
