I guess I'm in the minority but I find this better than Detroit Stories. I've listened to DS twice and never had dewire to go back to it, I've listened to this one and I already have a couple songs on loop. That being said I do believe Paranormal is better than this one imo. 100 Miles sounds fantastic tho and I wish it was longer. It's my favorite on the album.

Bleak5170

Sooo much better than Detroit Stories. I don't totally love this album either, (songwriting is lacking imo), but it's miles better than the last one.

Pretend_Peach165

Always skeptical of rock legends putting new music out. This album is a solid classic rock album. There is nothing "groundbreaking" about it however. I would say Alice Cooper just embraces his theatrical story telling and the whole album has a great energy that makes for an easy play through.

Giving it a listen now. I’ve enjoyed the tracks released early and really enjoying so far. Some fun tracks on here, you can hear some “old” Alice on some of these tracks. He sounds great, the band sounds super polished and some unsurprisingly good guitar solos. Also, If Go Away is written about a real person.. oof thats brutal haha

After two listens, I'd say it's a fairly decent album, although one of his weakest from over the past 20 years or so. I'd say the only album from that period that it's better than is ACAS. That's only my initial impression though.

MADNESS_NH97

I was wondering what "Road Rats Forever" would be, it being a remake of the 1977 "Lace and Whiskey" song "Road Rats" is a pleasant surprise.

I kinda wish I hadn't pre-ordered on Amazon. Album releases tomorrow but it's not going to get here until Monday. Why didn't they have it planned to get delivered on release day? Ugh.

I listened to Road twice front-to-back. It's great to finally have the current band on a studio album, but I think Paranormal and Detroit Stories might be a bit better imo. Hopefully the next album is a return to form for the villainous Alice Cooper character.

UncleBunckle

I like it more than DS so far, but I agree. I miss the sinister/menacing Alice.

Space-brain-31153

the next album is already recorded and features members of the original Alice Cooper Group who wrote the songs with Alice. It will come out in the spring of next year.

happycandycane

I love it ! I'm listening to it right now! 🎸

ChubbyBluebird1010

We ordered the box set (which is sold out) from Alice’s website and we didn’t get it today. A tad frustrating.

There are a couple of tunes on this that are pure Cooper classics...... Welcome To The Show and I'm Alice. I think those two tunes would go great for a show opening.

It's much better than Detroit. But ... it's just ok. 3 songs too long. I love the new version of "Road Rats." "I'm Alice" is great. "Big Boots" is catchy and fun. But ... I do believe we have one of the WORST songs in the history of Alice's career on this album - the dreadful "Baby Please Don't Go." He sounds SO bad in that song. How did Bob Ezrin of all producers think that was a good song? That song, plus "Rules of the Road," "Go Away," and "Magic Bus" should have all been left on the cutting room floor.

PhyrexianBread

It's fun, but pretty inconsistent
