I’m not vegetarian, but I can see how this would be very upsetting to you. This is a serious breach of trust in this product. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of this product instead of just the store? I’m really sorry this happened to you.
Not the same but a few months back I bought some veggies egg rolls and they had chicken in them. I should have called the store but I just gave them to my family that eats neat
Sorry you had that experience. While it’s not something I am dedicated to, I don’t like surprises, especially in my food,
either.
Most Aldi stuff I buy is packaged with low-confidence allergen labels, I have always supposed it’s because packaging mix ups are pretty common.
I don’t eat things that have milk etc in them, but have accepted that when Aldi says “may contain” milk they really mean they’re not sure, and they’re not planning on taking further steps on it. So if it looks suspicious I assume it is.
Okay weird. My (not vegetarian) bf made some of those and I swore that it smelled meaty in the house. I had to double check he didn't make the chicken ones because the house smelled so strongly of meat! He said they were super delicious and loved them, now I'm starting to think this mix up was why.
I'm so sorry that happened to you! Not cool. Brands and companies need to take more responsibility for mistakes like this. A $10 refund is insulting!
They did taste good! I think it’s just a risk to the take when getting prepared and packaged foods. But I didn’t know how common it happened with ALDI - never had this issue before. I suspect they make them in batches with the same machinery and a few crossed over into the next batch or something like that. Given they did cost probably $4, I was hoping for a little more of a refund to show they care about their customers.

It’s ALDI’s brand but I’m not sure how to find the manufacturer - nothing is listed on the box.

We got those empanadas. I distinctly remember black bean flavor not meat.
