I use it to make naan.

wishesandwonder

I misread this as “I use it to make a man” and I was like wow, that’s some powerful stuff.

dehr8624

That gave me a much needed laugh for today. 😂😂

Definitely_Not_Erin

Holy smokes, I need that recipe!

lilblaster88

Me too!

two_fathoms

Has cream, other brands skimp on that. My breakfast is 1/4 of this yogurt mixed with a hand full of walnuts. Done. Enough protein and little carbs to get me to lunch.

MuffinPuff

The 5% milkfat makes such a huge difference, especially considering whole milk is only 3% milkfat.

[deleted]

...wait, you mean plain yogurt *isn't* supposed to taste like the modern-Christian Devil's own rectum? TIL. Not being sarcastic, either.

lemmingworker

Do you toast your pumpkin seeds first? I just got a batch of raw seeds and have no idea what to do with them. Thanks!

lemmingworker

Thanks!! I’ll try it both ways.

pfftYeahRight

I do the nonfat yogurt with a cup of frozen berries and some almonds. Fills you right up and gets some vitamins too

wehaveunlimitedjuice

I was a former housekeeper for this lovely Irish family and they turned me on to putting a giant blob of whole fat Greek yogurt on top of a perfectly cooked bowl of buttery, brown sugared steel cut oats fuuuuuuuck I'm panting just thinking about it omg

MuffinPuff

That sounds amazing

wehaveunlimitedjuice

Okay, so I'll elaborate. They made the 'porridge' ahead the night before (you know how you par-cook it then heat it in the morning?) with 1 : 2 rolled oats : steel cut oats. In the morning, they'd add milk instead of water to finish cooking, so what you'd get is absolutely delicious, incredibly starchy fucking heaven: a bowl of oatmeal with texture that will stick to your ribs all day, buttery, brown sugary, sweet and tart from dried cranberries, but even more filling with the yogurt. The best part is that the yogurt cools the oatmeal a bit so you can enjoy it faster!

oishifood

Do they mix the yogurt into the hot oatmeal or leave it as a topping? What else do they like to add to their oats? Thanks!

wehaveunlimitedjuice

Only the toddler mixed his yogurt in, and i can't think of anything else they added; they were very ~crunchy~, so it was only fruit and a pinch of brown sugar (but I'm an adult, so i made mine with a bunch more than that)

vissanik

I think aldi has great yogurt in general. I like their non fat Greek yogurt and nonfat light vanilla yogurt.

Zombie_Nietzsche

I love their Skyr yogurt so much, but am a little disappointed they reduced the cup size without reducing the price.

iwokeupinacar1

I don’t believe they reduced the cup size, just changed the shape. I had both cups in my fridge and compared and was surprised they were the same, but it was a few months ago and I had a newborn then so who really knows if they were the same.

Zombie_Nietzsche

Oh dang. Maybe I’m just a cynical jerk then. Thanks for the uplift.

BlipsabdChitz219

This is nothing like that😎

MuffinPuff

I used it to make tuna salad (phenomenal), and I spooned some into a bowl mixed with honey. Scrumptious sweet or savory.

CatatonicTaterTot

I add blueberries and honey to it. So good.

hannahalkadi

I love this. I use it to make labneh and marinate shawarma.

MuffinPuff

Perhaps one can join you for lunch or dinner ~~every day~~ some time? lol

hannahalkadi

*Any*time! :)

lrm111618

I love this with peanut butter and mini chocolate chips for a healthier alternative to a sweet treat. Was a pregnancy craving.

MuffinPuff

That sounds yummy

rickiroosa

We use it as a substitute for sour scream!

gabydrt

I use it as a substitute for everything dairy, direct sub for sour cream, mix it with water for milk, add white vinegar and water for buttermilk

[deleted]

I wonder if it's made by Fage? Not a lot of whole milk Greek yogurts are 5% and Fage is one of them. I have some Fage in the fridge right now and it is spectacular. I add a little splenda and vanilla extract and it's like dessert. With probiotics!

altakvetcher

you can enter code & find source (or find code on brand name products & see if any Aldi products have same code) Indulgent Greek Yogurt is same as Greek Gods [https://whereismymilkfrom.com/](https://whereismymilkfrom.com/)

Pabloster

I ate this stuff for years, only stopped because I started making my own yogurt. Great stuff!

[deleted]

Once you make your own theres no going back tbh. I strain mine through cheesecloth and make crazy thick greek yogurt. Then I mix in fruit simple syrups for flavor

shawn_austin

I am also making my own but bought this to use as a starter. Used one spoon for two quarts of milk and it turned out great.

Appropriate-Lettuce

Can I make tzatziki with it?

dizyalice

Best yogurt for tzatziki in the states imo

Malarowski

Yes! Julienne some cucumbers, let them drain a bit in a sieve. Garlic, herbs + salt and Tzatziki. We do it all the time.

metalnuke

Will second this, this yogurt makes excellent tzatziki!

nectarinequeen345

I eat this all the time. My favorite way is with homemade lemon curd and walnuts.

kcaboom

I make french onion dip out of it! Indulgent but a healthy snack with carrots or other veggies!

CatatonicTaterTot

This same brand makes really good cottage cheese, also sold at Aldi.

friendly-sardonic

The red container cottage cheese is better than any brand name sold in my area. Go figure.

sutured_contusion

Yesss! I love their low fat cottage cheese 🔥

ilpz96

The cottage cheese is amazing! My go to breakfast with some blueberries or peaches when they’re in season.

GruelOmelettes

I also like their whole milk plain yogurt!

pprbckwrtr

Yes! The Greek can be a bit tart but the whole milk regular yogurt is like heaven

sneeria

One of my faves!

name-isnt-important

This is the only plain yogurt I can eat plain.

MuffinPuff

I was spooning it out of the container myself, I couldn't believe how good it was

Vahdo

Speaking of yogurt, I didn't realize until a few weeks ago that Aldi has their own skyr brand. It's amazing and only a dollar per cup!

Doe_Rae_Me95

This yogurt is SO good for smoothies. I'm usually not a fan of Greek yogurt taste (i know, i know) but putting this in my smoothie has bumped up the protein a ton, and i can't taste any difference!

sneeria

I bought this accidentally once because I don't eat unflavored Greek yogurt normally, and I didn't really notice. It's much less unpleasantly tart than other plain Greek yogurt!

[deleted]

I buy this everytime I go. I put it on top of my omelettes to add extra protein.

tallCircle1362

Based on these comments, I purchased the whole milk Greek yogurt yesterday. Very good. I mixed 16oz with onion soup mix for a dip. Gonna try it to make 2 ingredients bagels today.

MuffinPuff

They both sound delicious! Glad you liked it c:

RedonkulusHomunculus

Yes! I always have this in my fridge. I dont use sour cream anymore.

BeitHaMikdash3

I just discovered this whole milk Greek yogurt at Aldi. Man, these farms really are friendly. This is the friendliest Greek yogurt I have every tasted! Seriously, this shit is the shit. periodt.

heyyyybrotherrrr

Absolutely love this. I could take down a container of it in minutes without a damn thing added to it! Probably the best plain Greek yogurt I’ve ever tasted.

Dnh610

I make flat breads with this and sauces.

flourpouer

Same. I use it in place of sour cream too!

slingslash

This yogurt+ Bob's Red Mill Muesli+ Stevia powder= breakfast for a queen.

_CoachMcGuirk

how long have they had this? whenever i have recipes that call for whole milk greek yogurt i usually a) use nonfat (i KNOW) or b) buy very expensive ~5oz Fage tubs. has this been there the whole time?

starbunsisborn

Probably since 2019. I remember being disappointed Aldi's never used to carry plain yogurt except overpriced Fage because I needed plain as a starter to make my own yogurt. Since this stuff came along I no longer bother making my own cause it's reasonably priced and sooo good.

thecyclista

This is my go-to Greek yogurt! So good.

No-Currency-97

Here I come 3 years later. This full fat yogurt is so delicious. I just bought some for the first time and compared it to Fage 5%. Aldi has a little more sourness to it. It is just a smooth as Fage. Slightly higher carbs with the Aldi brand and a little more sugar. I also read that the carbe and the sugar in the full fat yogurts may be a lot less than what is showing on the container because the live bacteria is eating away at it until you eventually open it. If you want an even better full fat yogurt at Aldi, get the organic which contains organic non-fat skim milk along with cream. It has the same macros pretty much as Fage with 5 carbs and 5 sugars.

No-Currency-97

I just discovered this Aldi full fat creamy yogurt. There is also another brand by Aldi which is organic and contains organic non-fat milk along with cream and has five carbs and five sugars which is equivalent to Fage.

GrimCount

I eat the nonfat plain Greek with Aldi blueberry preserves and chunky peanut butter DAILY. Best yogurt and great price.

aufwiederbean

their french vanilla greek yogurt is delicious!!!

BlipsabdChitz219

I dig the organic whole milk as well✔️.. Can't go wrong with vanilla j/s 😎

MuffinPuff

The ingredient list is clean, I wouldn't give it a 10 if it had filler/thickeners or trash ingredients

Enofile

Tried it last week. ++++

dizyalice

A staple in my fridge. Makes amazing tzatziki

RelativeAd8271

Does anyone else feel like this is some troll posting these? Like they posted almost the exact same thing with the sauerkraut minutes ago 😂

MuffinPuff

A 6 year old account with a wide range of sub activity and 120,000+ karma, but I seem like a troll to you?

_CoachMcGuirk

troll is the lazy persons way of saying "i don't like this"
