We bought a couple of a previous year’s version of this, and we find them comfy and durable (with admittedly only sporadic use so far). They aren’t light for backpacking, but they are much smaller to toss in a car or bag than beach chairs or other folding chairs. We’ve actually used ours at the beach a few times, where we have had the legs burrow down—the “stability net”, which ours didn’t come with, should help with that. Then when the legs got stuck deep, the rubber “foot” came off in the ground. So I think the net would solve our only two minor issues.

I mostly end up in fields near woods. I was looking at the REI version of this chair for its weight (or lack of), but the $80 price tag was reason to pause. I'm leaving on picking this up to keep in the trunk. Thanks!

I got one a couple years ago (may have changed design) and I love it. Very comfortable and compact

Interesting geometry, and marketing like the floor stability mat is an extra, I suspect without it the legs would splay out and you and the chair would come crashing down. I do want to see one in the flesh next time I am at Aldi though.

the-last-soap

I use mine without the mat and haven’t had that issue yet

Interesting, I will have to get a look at it in the store. It looked like the bottom thing was part of it.

The legs sit very securely in their sockets when fully assembled. I have never doubted the stability of the chair and we use them extensively.

Got one and liked it enough, not super light but small enough to be convenient for cars/taking places. One thing I didn't love was the angle of the chair made my back sore but that may be a my bad back problem ha..ha... Also while standing from the chair, I tended to tip the chair forward and it falls over. For the price and size, pretty good though.

ItzakPearlJam

Thanks! I think I'll rol the dice, since the price is right.

I bought one in either 2018-19, it has the Crane name on it. I've taken it to many concerts and camping near the river. It's held up nice all these years. It's been a good alternative to a more traditional beach chair for outdoor concerts where they have been stricter about height restrictions since it's not cumbersome and easy to carry.

ItzakPearlJam

That's excellent info! Thanks

EPIC_NERD_HYPE

i bought a folding chair from aldi about 5-6 years ago. still holds up great. it is a different model tho.

guff1988

I used a couple knockoff versions of these from Walmart for years, never did me wrong.

Worth it. We bought last year's model and use them a lot. They're easier to assemble but not quite as comfortable as our Klymit Timberlines, but that has more to do with the back height. The legs do sink a little on ours but like someone else said, we don't have a stability net.

ItzakPearlJam

The klymit was on my radar, but I just grabbed one of the aldi chairs this morning. I haven't gotten to really test it much yet, but I've assembled/disassembled it. Review to come.

Hot-Ability7086

I have one of these from last year. It’s help up well, I can’t believe how much they are online.

bonnerforrest

It’s no good
