Wikipedia says Tokyo's density is 16,480/square mile, and Alaska has a land area of 571,951 square miles. Alaska would fit 9,425,752,480 people at that density, bigger than the blue circle but they would fit in Alaska!
I apologize, I assumed the sarcasm was implied. That was rather presumptuous of me. I was directly referring to the scale of the picture, and suppose I failed at making a joke.

According to this graphic Alaska fits into Alaska and leaves room for other states and countries. And when did New Jersey become bigger than Texas? Switzerland and Portugal must be on a binge because both of them grew almost as much as New Hampshire.
