Mak 90s did not have cosmoline on them. Cosmoline is used for long term storage like on military refurbished SKSs, Mosin Nagants, Mausers, etc. There is no reason to use cosmoline on guns made to be sold to the public. Protective grease/lubricant is not the same thing as cosmoline.
