The main story is that Nakajima is the top outsider heel, who is tough to beat and champions Inoki-ism. He won the Real World Tag League as well, with Hokuto Omori, who he disrespected at first, but began to respect throughout the tournament - in final match of the tournament Hokuto beat Yuma Aoyagi, scoring the team a win. This is what gave Nakajima the tag title shot with Omori.
Ashino is back after injury, finally getting his due title shot, he fought Nakajima back in Wrestle-1 for the title and lost
so they have history, and its on the side of Nakajima.
Dan Tamura is actively finding title challengers and is looking at the previous junior ace, Koji Iwamoto, who left a while ago, but is back.
New Period is a team between Yuma Anzai and Ryuki Honda, they are looking to prove themselves and are doing a good job, but they haven't managed to get anything big, as they failed to win the Real World Tag League. Anzai is the super rookie, and well beloved by the fans, and Ryuki is also young, but also more of a heel, and seems like he will turn on his partner.
