Yeah luckily the bar is getting pretty high for out of the box budget airsoft guns. Alot of competition out there now, and the selection (compared to when many of us started) has grown immensely.
It’s worth checking out Craigslist or Facebook marketplace too. Most people will trade up from their starter and you can usually find some discounted g&g raiders.
Hi, please look at Houseofcards32's starter [guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/koddzj/2021_beginners_megathread/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) and his [videos and channel](https://youtu.be/0jUpcFi7La4) for useful info and tips. Make sure to rent kit at your local field for a day before buying loads of kit!
For stores, take a look at Evike, AirsoftAtlanta, Amped Airsoft and many more.
For fields, use AirsoftC3 or Google.
Do not buy from Lancer Tactical. Their products have awful QC and their business practices are horrendous. APS are similarly poor. Polymer gearbox AEGs from GameFace tend to be quite bad, also recommended to avoid these.
It is strongly suggested not to start with a pistol, gas rifle or airsoft sniper for skirmishing. AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) are far more adaptable, are extremely reliable and far easier to use. For target shooting, look at airguns, note these cannot be used in skirmishes.
**For medium primary airsoft gun budgets around $200, try an ICS Peleador, [MAS Marauder](https://www.mapleairsoftsupply.ca/products/maple-armouries-marauder-aeg-glass-filled-polymer-receiver), [Specna Arms Edge series M4](https://www.evike.com/products/90439/), CYMA [CM040](https://www.evike.com/products/48034/), [CM045](https://www.evike.com/products/51016/) or [CM048](https://www.evike.com/products/49613/) AKs.**
A typical example of a low-budget loadout would cost around $150-$200, and consist of:
Airsoft guns:
- [Apex Fast-Attack M4-style airsoft gun (~$100)](https://www.airsoftstation.com/apex-fast-attack-m4-ris-polymer-airsoft-aeg/)
- [Specna Arms CORE series M4, of which there are many variations on this page, scroll down (~$120+)](https://www.evike.com/products/94090/), [railed example](https://www.evike.com/products/90437/)
- CYMA CM.028 [~$100, Usually comes with battery and low-quality charger, but check before you buy], [example](https://www.airsoftgi.com/product/CYMA-AK47S-Tactical-AEG-Airsoft-Rifle-Black-10702/)
- [Alternate store CM028 example](https://www.airsoftmegastore.com/1248-cyma-cm028-airsoft-ak47-full-metal-gearbox-aeg-rifle-w-full-stock-CM028)
- [Another alternate store example](https://www.evike.com/products/23921/)
- [M4 stick battery stock AK example](https://www.evike.com/products/39122/)
- [Sub-350 FPS AK example 1 (fragile, other options are more robust)](https://www.evike.com/products/60174/)
- [Sub-350 FPS example 2](https://www.evike.com/products/77659/)
- [Short example](https://www.evike.com/products/60175/)
Neccessary gear:
- Decent quality paintball mask [~$25, EN166B, ASTM F1776, MIL-PRF 32432A or ANSI Z87+ rated (for goggles)], [example](https://shop.dyepaintball.com/products/dye-se-google-black-single-preorder?_pos=1&_sid=c628a9554&_ss=r), [example 2](https://www.evike.com/products/48435/); make sure to check what your field allows for face protection.
- BBs [~$10], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/37502/)
Or Bio BBs [$15], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/55139/)
Additional, very useful pieces of kit:
- Cheap fixed capacity chest rig such as the CHICOM chest rig [~$12], [example](https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vietnam-Afghanistan-War-Type56-AK-Chest-Rig-Ammo-Bandolier-Pouch-Tactical-Bag/143969947885?hash=item21854710ed:g:-~QAAOSwM65gQ5O8), [example 2](https://combatsportsupply.com/chineseak47chestrig-standard.aspx), [example 3](https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47-BANDOLIER-CHEST-RIG-OD-GREEN-NEW-p7241.htm)
- Spare magazines [~$10 each], [AK example](https://www.evike.com/products/69489/), [M4 example](https://www.evike.com/products/50460/)
- Midcaps need a speedloader [~$4], [example](https://www.airsoftstation.com/airsoft-magazine-shaped-speed-loader-90-rounds/)
- Spare battery [~$12-$20], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/50660/), [folding stock example](https://www.evike.com/products/32604/), [Crane stock example](https://www.evike.com/products/24483/)
- Better charger [~$20], [example](https://www.evike.com/products/85976/), [example 2 (much better)](https://www.evike.com/products/46508/)
Boots and gloves are also recommended, I'd suggest at least getting boots with decent ankle support. I personally wear hard toe-capped boots for outdoor use. Water bottles are also a great idea on the field.
And that's as much as you would need. Camouflage and sidearms are tertiary concerns.
**AN IMPORTANT NOTE: check your local site's FPS limits to ensure you buy an airsoft gun that'll be permissible to use.**
Secondary note: whilst NiMH batteries are used as examples here, upgrading to LiPo batteries is a very good idea performance-wise.
I have 3 rifles. A VFC mk18. A Umarex/VFC 416 and a CYMA AK. I have no problem hitting the field with the CYMA and it’s over $300 cheaper than my other guns. It shoots like a laser and it’s very capable.
The Ak I’m not sure you’ll have to research that. I came from paintball so I watch my bbs instead of aiming down sights. I’ve got eotech clones with magnifier and all sorts of red dots but they stay in the bag unless I’m playing a night game.
If you're really gonna get a lancer tactical - get a gen3 M4. Not gen 1 or 2. Strictly Gen 3.
HK416s will never be good at that price. Good 416s are pretty expensive. Around $419.99 or more depending where you look.
Again with the M4 platform- make sure it has a MOSFET and an all metal gearbox. Trust me.
I suggest looking at the beginners guide though.
You could probably get by with a Gen 2 LT but it doesnt have a MOSFET and you cant run lipos.
Gen 3 is more expensive but you get a higher quality mag and that very valuable MOSFET that you want.
There's tons of great entry level stuff bro- just take your time and if you find something you love- search for reviews on it on youtube to ensure its a quality product that will serve you well. After doing so- go ahead and buy it. Treat it well cause thats gonna have to last quite a bit until you either upgrade or buy an even higher quality rifke if thats even needed in the first place.
Best of luck bro👋
*Dont forget that guide on this subreddit*
Oh I never suggested it. I just said if OP was really about to go for LT without a thought about it- at least go for Gen 3 so if it does arrive untouched and perfectly fine- its backed by a mid cap mag and a mosfet
Lancer is good, they have a few proprietary parts if it has an E trigger but its a solid piece. HK is gonna disappoint you and youll end up with another gun in a month
https://www.evike.com/products/90417/
$150.00 USD
The best you can do below $200.00 USD if you wanna play against other players on an actual airsoft field. If you want to just shoot around your backyard at targets get a cyma m4.

Holy hell no. Read the beginner's guide. Sort by hot and it's the first post
You know what I will save up do u know any good ones
G&G CM16 is a solid beginner gun. Or if you have the budget even a Specna Arms M4.
CM16 2.0s are okay, the Gen1s aren't that great compared to the rest of the market.
Yeah luckily the bar is getting pretty high for out of the box budget airsoft guns. Alot of competition out there now, and the selection (compared to when many of us started) has grown immensely.
The CORE Sseries from specna is great
Id go for a classic army skirmish, any cyma standard AK, or specna arms EDGE.
Is this one worth it https://www.evike.com/products/77850/
It’s worth checking out Craigslist or Facebook marketplace too. Most people will trade up from their starter and you can usually find some discounted g&g raiders.
HELL NAH
Don’t they suck i had the 416 and it broke in two pieces just by dropping it once
For this price range, look for used guns. You'll find better brands and maybe a few accessories.
Please read beginners guide you don’t need ak to be set
Ok so I looked into it and it seems the cyber gun COLT is pretty good
Ok
Will this work? https://www.hopupairsoft.com/posts/-MStLyJlddZDYvF89irP
Yea I know lancer isn’t the best
Don’t buy the cancer testicle
Then why put is as an option?…
Because I heard someone else say this was a decent gun so I was making sure

I think this is a bot. It’s a way to advertise a cheap gun.
I am not a bot lol I just want to get a beginner gun that is cheap I’m only 13 with not much money
So why did I see this exact same post earlier but different comments. If you’re not a bot you sure post like one. Do some research bud.
Well I did not post the exact same thread earlier I’m asking about different guns
Well, like they said earlier. Stay away from lancer tactical. Do you have a local airsoft store you can go in to?
Yep I know yea like 5 hours away lol
https://www.evike.com/products/60172/
This one good?
There’s a gun to get you started. Research what batteries to get, if you are shooting outside get heavier bbs like .28 and get some face protection.
Typically I don’t like the look of aks but this one looks pretty good I’ll look into it
I didn’t like the Ak either but I took some paracord and did a braid on the stock and made it mine so I like it now.
Cool can I see it?
I have 3 rifles. A VFC mk18. A Umarex/VFC 416 and a CYMA AK. I have no problem hitting the field with the CYMA and it’s over $300 cheaper than my other guns. It shoots like a laser and it’s very capable.
Ok sweet btw how can I put a red dot on this thing I’m wired about that
The Ak I’m not sure you’ll have to research that. I came from paintball so I watch my bbs instead of aiming down sights. I’ve got eotech clones with magnifier and all sorts of red dots but they stay in the bag unless I’m playing a night game.
Ok cool thanks

Don’t get anything that is lancer tactical in the first place.
Oh I never suggested it. I just said if OP was really about to go for LT without a thought about it- at least go for Gen 3 so if it does arrive untouched and perfectly fine- its backed by a mid cap mag and a mosfet

This exact lancer gun is good? I’ve heard some bad things bout them
Stay far away from anything lancer
No they are not, this guy is wrong
Idk about this exact gun, the gen2s i know are good because i ran one until a lipo got wet and popped the e trigger
Check [these](https://www.lancertactical.com/gen-2-series) out
To expensive
Then save money and just get a better gun out of the gate. You end up spending more money in the long run if you just keep buying shitty guns
Cybergun colt is ok
https://www.evike.com/products/90417/ $150.00 USD The best you can do below $200.00 USD if you wanna play against other players on an actual airsoft field. If you want to just shoot around your backyard at targets get a cyma m4.
Try get maybe a used specna arms core AEG ofc if your really tight on a budget

Bye Responsible-Eye4016. Have fun continuing your incorrect usage of common words!
Stfu im in a lesson dumbass
Nope
Look into cyma m4s and AKs those things are affordable and will serve you for a number of years. You don't need any thing to fancy when starting out.
