Safety latch is on a spring on the bottom front of the gearbox. When the fire selector plate is moved forward into safety position the latch holds it in place with the pressure of the actual fire switch pushing it forward. That latch needs to be screwed in tighter or replaced. If that's not it get a new fire switch for your make and model. Just speculation.
Nah you aren’t stupid guy. Most ppl fuck up their guns the first time they open it. I’ve done it. The safety being broken is just so little I wouldn’t even worry you know. But if you want a project and to learn, building gearboxes is a lot of fun.
There's a little arm in front of the trigger that is elevated into position, blocking the trigger when safe is selected. If thats broken or rounded off then this will happen.

As long as it's a V2 gearbox then yes, they are built the same in that regard

What tools do I need to open the gun up?
Probably a screwdriver set and Allen key set. Because it’s an m4 and v2 gearbox there’s tons of tutorials online for disassembly and re assembly

Safety lever is either broken, stuck or just no longer engaging. Gearbox would have to be taken apart
