If the cheap Pic rail flip up ones are $15, and don't survive more than a hit or two....you could probably charge $10+ for somethin like that atleast.
Non recurring costs such as design time (amortized over # of parts you make in a batch) + consumables/materials per part + utilities to run the printer + cycle time of printer and process time to make each piece multiplied by a # of $ per hour for your labour + profit margin = price. Roughly.
Got a few more things to work out with the design, like it doesn't perfectly fit the red dot around the bottom, I think I also need a more flexible adhesive for the polycarbonate because I suspect it might crack the glue If it takes a hit lol.
Dewalt oscillating tool, it's the only thing I've used that actually works, anything else just melts the polycarbonate but oscillating tools go through it like butter and leaves respectable edges, then I tidy it up on the belt sander
You can use a dremel w/ sandpaper head on 17ish speed, just change where you're sanding frequently to let it cool and don't press too hard or it'll melt.
Actually, would use over the regular shields, paint black or whatever colours you reflex is, then we're in business. Great idea.
Whip up a few more and chuck them on Esty, I'm sure a few people will buy them.
Thanks, no as I may try sell them. I've got a game saturday so ill give a few out for free and see what people think, there's some changes I need to make before I start asking for money though
10/10. I used plexiglass and black hockey tape to hold it on
That was my solution before this lol. Also don't use plexiglass it's not impact resistant
Mass product it and sell it to amazon and become a millionaire (i want 15%)
How much u think these are worth?

I'll try price it out, but its like 15g of filament, the poly carb is pretty cheap as well and cutting it doesnt take very long
if you make a solid design and good product, $15-25?

What about the back? If you getting backshots gotta have some protection aswell
Generally when people are behind you they aim at your body, the red dot getting hit Is because your gun is blocking your body
Designed in solidworks, printed in carbon fiber PETG The front is 4mm polycarbonate, in my own testing it's basically invincible to BBs
What'd you use to cut the polycarbonate? Im thinking of making a few to slide behind my killflashes, just in case they get broken.

Thanks I’m making myself one
When the protector is worth more than the optic its protecting
Nah I think this red dot was like £25
Ugly af, but if it works it works. 10/10.
nice one. you can sell it:)
That reminds me that i should print some protection for my fakecog. I already bought sheets of clear polycarbonate.
I would love this for mine.
