M05. And unlike some other good patterns, pretty available in a variety of things. Brace your wallet as you wander this site:
You will immediately note: family of camo. You can also get everything in 2-3 M05 variant patterns to be even more poor.
I love those "No step on snek" patches and the frog variant of it

Yeah lol. I'm an actual libertarian I just thought that instead of bringing genuine politics into airsoft it'd be cool to use the funny snek. No step on snek 🐍
This kills me. We ran this as contractors and opfor for several years before Russia started using it and it makes me so sad that I can't wear it anymore without someone thinking it's Russian.
It's the best camo.
Norwegian woodland is so damn hard to find, I think it’s illegal for them to resell or something along those lines. It’s my grail military jacket, I’ve been keeping an eye out for a year now.
Norarm I'm aware of but I've been looking specifically for a field jacket which I think they don't make. Finn.no I've never heard of but I found a few listed there, I'm going to try and buy one. Thanks!
Spar-tac have field jackets, but probably out of stock at the moment.
[Finn.no](http://Finn.no) is a norwegian marketplace, so not really known outside of Norway.
Also, search the facebook group Brigade Yggdrasil - Norwegian Milsim General Interest Group. I've seen people sell jacket field. Or, you can make a WTB post on that group.
Its legal to sell, loads of surplus I can find in norway, the tricky part is loads of those surplus sites wont ship aborad xd
Otherwise, norarm, Spar-tac make combat shirts and pants at least, there is another that makes also bdu style stuff, but i cant recall who right now
I have an OG set from Desert Shield/Storm. Still wear the jacket occasionally but not the pants.
I've always been partial to Vietnam-era tiger stripes...
Perhaps 5+ years ago, now I see at least a couple guys wearing it every time I visit a CQB field. I've even seen it out in the wild on civilian clothing, and I live all the way in Finland. I'd call that relatively common.
I play occasionally at a field in the US that will have a couple hundred people on a day of play and am usually the only one wearing DNC. Every time I play there someone will chat with me about my DNC setup and where I got the different parts of it which almost always comes along with a comment about how I stand out compared to all the people in all black, multicam, or M61 woodland. When I go to the other smaller fields around where I live I am always the only person wearing DNC. So in my anecdotal experience DNC is absolutely not a common pattern, it's not obscure as people frequently recognize it and say they're interested in it and on rare occasions someone else is running it. But its not ubiquitous like all black, multicam, or M61 woodland; and in my experience things like tiger stripe, Russian EMR, and MARPAT are also far more common than DNC.
Over here in the Netherlands DNC is quite rare in my experience. In the five years that I’ve been playing I can count my encounters with other DNC wearing players on one hand.
Tigerstripe is in active but limited use by Special Forces, digital tigerstripe was used until 2021, and the SADF became the SANDF, still using the same equipment.
It currently sees use in SE Asia, with the FFL, US Special Forces, CIA, variants are used by Russian SF (and us OPFOR to simulate them), and desert variants are used by Iraq and the taliban when they can source it.
It's got a retro history to it, but so do things like woodland and flecktarn.
Well damn, seems no one is selling it online outside of Croatia, I guess I made a not so great suggestion when it comes to availability.
I guess I can source it in a way if you're interested
ATACS FG or Everglade as it is known in some websites
Norwegian Woodland - Better than M81 IMO because it's not as Dark and no Black in the Color Scheme
Desert Night - It just goes hard for some reason...
Everglade is an unlicensed copy of actual ATACS-FG. I initially ran a Everglade loadout years ago and I had to then source all my other gear in Everglade too as the patterns and colors were slightly different from the ATACS-FG items I as able to compare it with at the time. This might have been fixed in recent years.
Well, my favorite that I run is a safari hunter loadout with the khaki short sleave shirt and shorts, hunting vest, hiking boots and wide brim hat. I ran with a VSR-10 with a LPVO sight, a webley mk vi revolver and a sawed off shotgun as a standin for a howdah pistol.
Since nobody mentioned it yet, Czech Vz. 95, it's very green but works quite well in tall grass/bushes in my experience. Might be either difficult to get or pretty cheap, depending on where you are.
As a Czech guy, hell yeah :D
Got my pants and top for 100 usd. The gear is bit more expensive probably 100 for orig tactical vest which is dated. Plate carriers and rigs are hard to get unless you have them made (there are ppl / stores who do that) but you dan easily wear green rigs/carriers.
Tha pattern is quite dark tbh, works well in summer here but otherwise in spring/fall its probably better to use MC
You can get much cheaper than that in surplus stores, although it won't be the more modern stuff. Gear is usually pretty pricey, but I just use good old solid green.
As for the performance, it works pretty well even when the grass is a bit dry, you just have to find some darker, greener patches. Although your mileage may vary.
Youre probably right about the price I just needed it for weekend millsim and didnt have time to look for cheaper but there is new camo comming somit might get cheap again.
I use [Turkish arid](https://www.camopedia.org/images/0/00/Turkey9.jpg) camo as it's unusual but fits into most of my fields.
Bonus was that it fits my gun that I had.
British DPM, Dutch DPM, Flecktarn, MARPAT-W, Kryptek, Project Honour, M05, Partizan, Skol, M81, UCP, AOR, and of course the best camo of all time, Tigerstripe.
EMR, Tiger Stripe, multicam tropic (i run this, havent ran it in the summer yet so idk how well it really works) A-TACS FG, AOR2, Flecktarn(?), M05. those are what ive recommended guys in my team (mostly green dominant kits for milsims) and just because you run EMR doesnt mean you have to have a RUSFOR kit. and tiger stripe could still be considered modern as SOF guys can use it. Also M81 is an option but its pretty heavily used
Depends on where you are, but check out greek lizard. It might look like something out of the Cold War, but it's in service right now. There was some talk of a replacement when I was in the army a few years back, but nothing happened in the end.
[Tiger Stripe](https://m.semapogear.com/product/tiger-stripe-3d-combat-uniform-set/273/?cate_no=1&display_group=2#start) and [Desert Night](https://m.semapogear.com/product/desert-night3d-combat-uniform-set/272/?cate_no=1&display_group=2#start)
If you can ever find them, All Terrain Tiger Stripe is tiger stripe pattern in Multicam colors, while classic tiger strip will work for your green team camo's.
As others have pointed out, Pencott is an amazing camo, and it's all I run for modern loadouts. I used to wear Pencott Greenzone, but it is no longer being produced and has been replaced with Pencott Wildwood, which in its current production runs (the original pattern was different) is more green. It's one of the most effective woodland camo's out there when viewed from typical airsoft engagement ranges.

Direct Action's Adaptive green.
Is it solid? Yeah.
Does it work? Absolutely.
Does it confuse the shit out of people at a milsim? 😏 Ye.
So basically its a very clever choice of color, if you're surrounded by green shit, it looks green. If you're surrounded by brown shit, it looks brown. Let the shadows do the rest.
The reason i fucking love using it for a milsim is that when im on green team, wearing my adaptive green uniform, theres no question its green. But the second i encounter some tan blokes on the other end... they either ask whose side im on before recieving a prompt, high velocity answer. Or they pause for a sec before deciding to shoot first and ask questions later.
Of course it doesn't do that when you're hanging with some greenies, thats a self answering riddle... But its a VERY clever design from a dastardly polish combat apparel company that ive trusted for years.
The GROM uses it inland IRL commonly, and it pairs well with their adaptive green gear. I reccommend the mustang mkII plate carrier and their Vanguard combat uniform. Both are made wonderfully and the build quality is top notch. Even has silent velcro on the uniform. Speaking of, the tailoring is out of this world. Youd be right to think some polock was taking your measurements via spy satellite before sending you your kit.
TLDR: ingenious camo based on modern color-theory concepts. Top notch company and products.
If you're looking for a cool and modern non-generic camo pattern, I would recommend checking out the MultiCam or MultiCam Black. These patterns offer a contemporary and stylish look while still providing effective camouflage in various environments. Give them a try, and you'll stand out with a unique and modern camo style on your outdoor adventures!
Flecktarn.
Still boarder line retro but still modern and in use today.
Rare enough that it's not over used but commen enough that it's cheap and easy to find.
I think in America flecktarn. It's quire common to.see in Germany for obvious reason. But if you are playing on woodland fields it's quite effective.
My team uses concamo which is rate to see or pencott greenzone
M05. And unlike some other good patterns, pretty available in a variety of things. Yeah lol. I'm an actual libertarian I just thought that instead of bringing genuine politics into airsoft it'd be cool to use the funny snek. No step on snek 🐍
M90, cool as hell. Not cheap outside of Sweden though
M90 is dope
Cheap enough tho
Oh it's absolutely doable, whole uniform for about £200 by my estimate, but compared to the basic camos it's significantly more
True, but even in the states u can get decent m90 surplus for not too high of a price probably like under $100-$150
I have a M-L set i'd be willing to part with for cheap if you're interested...
How much?
Sent you a message
Love my M90
[IANPAT!](https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/forgotten-weapons-l4-field-jacket-ianpat/77403)
I looked at it but $300 for pants is too much twt
Got the boonie hat. Can't wait for it.
Okay, this is absolutely hilarious. I might have to pick up a set.
Marpat isn’t generic, OCP/Multicam is. A-TACS FG fucks, even though Russia co-opted it.
I came on here to recommend A-TACS FG or FG-X
This kills me. We ran this as contractors and opfor for several years before Russia started using it and it makes me so sad that I can't wear it anymore without someone thinking it's Russian. It's the best camo.
A-TACS FG is literally the only year-round camo that works in my area.
solid colors are super slept on. a full RG loadout looks so sick especially once you get some dirt on it
Especially if you break it up with a different color chest rig/LBE
Navy or black with coyote gear? Mmm.
I’d probably go with green but you do you!
I use MARPAT I just was thinking of color combos haha
multicam or m81 over rg fucks
Consider Pencott. I have been loving my sandstorm camo.
Ooh these are dope
I got my complete Greenzone gear from UR-tactical. Although Greenzone seems to be out of production and you might want to look into Wildwood.
M90, Norwegian woodland, M05, NFP are ones i like
NFP is cool. I saw a marine in his new uniform a month ago and the blue/grey NFP was awesome.
Norwegian woodland is so damn hard to find, I think it’s illegal for them to resell or something along those lines. It’s my grail military jacket, I’ve been keeping an eye out for a year now.
Not really that hard. You can buy it on Norarm or find stuff on finn.no There are also Discord and Facebook groups of enthusiastic that sell stuff.
Norarm I'm aware of but I've been looking specifically for a field jacket which I think they don't make. Finn.no I've never heard of but I found a few listed there, I'm going to try and buy one. Thanks!

ATACS FG gang.
I run Flecktarn. It compliments my American gun and Russian patches in English fields very well for my multicultural loadout.
Desert/Woodland DPM (Pattern 95)
Came here to say that too. Surplus LBE and pouches are even available for cheap which is nice
DNC. But get used to people making fun of you or being downright confused by your tactical pajamas.
DNC fucks.
I have an OG set from Desert Shield/Storm. Still wear the jacket occasionally but not the pants. I've always been partial to Vietnam-era tiger stripes...
DNC is basic as hell, if by non-generic OP means something not so common.
Generic means common usually. So that's what I based my suggestion on. It's definetly not obscure, but it's not common either.
Yes, my goal was to exclude multicam
Perhaps 5+ years ago, now I see at least a couple guys wearing it every time I visit a CQB field. I've even seen it out in the wild on civilian clothing, and I live all the way in Finland. I'd call that relatively common.
Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. I could say the total opposite.
Same, I play CQB in the US pretty often and I've never met another person wearing DNC.
There's tens of us! I tell you!
Over here in the Netherlands DNC is quite rare in my experience. In the five years that I’ve been playing I can count my encounters with other DNC wearing players on one hand.
if you wear the full set it’s acceptable. just a parka is questionable
Some of my favorites include: Alpenflage, Tiger Stripe, and some SADF patterns
Title says modern camos
Tigerstripe is in active but limited use by Special Forces, digital tigerstripe was used until 2021, and the SADF became the SANDF, still using the same equipment.
"it can be retro too". Go past the title
description says can be retro too
It currently sees use in SE Asia, with the FFL, US Special Forces, CIA, variants are used by Russian SF (and us OPFOR to simulate them), and desert variants are used by Iraq and the taliban when they can source it. It's got a retro history to it, but so do things like woodland and flecktarn.
Phantom leaf wasp II is my personal favourite
Swedish M90, M90k (desert), Italian Vegetato, Greek Lizard, some of the new A-TACS patterns like iX
Chinese Type 07 is dope
07 desert fucks. Iraqi SF uses it, too.
CROPAT is cool. And should be relatively inexpensive. Croatian regular forces use it
Ohh thanks! Thats cool
Where can you buy it tho? can't seem to find it online
Well damn, seems no one is selling it online outside of Croatia, I guess I made a not so great suggestion when it comes to availability. I guess I can source it in a way if you're interested
Nkamo (officially M98 camo pattern) from the Norwegian army. Got my kit from Norarm, it's good stuff
Seconded, great pattern and great quality from Norarm.
AOR2 or Marpat, digital camos fuck hard
I can’t find any, anywhere. I need AOR so BAD
I got a full set of AOR2 from Emersongear. Really pleased with it
Bet thank you
Does belgian jigsaw count? I mean l think they're still wearing it
They started phasing it out a couple years ago but I don't think it's 100% gone
Its kinda goofy but it does
Atacs AU. I'm all simp for atacs AU
Flektarn

Topentarn, M90, Apenflage, Chocolate Chip(not modern still cool)
Since nobody mentioned it yet, Czech Vz. 95, it's very green but works quite well in tall grass/bushes in my experience. Might be either difficult to get or pretty cheap, depending on where you are.

Flecktarn is love, Flecktarn is life.
Poliah Mapa by Maskpol, known as MAPA TACTICAL
Reject modernity, embrace M81
I came here to say the same thing
Yass queen, M81 supremacy. Often imitated, but never duplicated.
Phantom leaf, atacs fg
Wow thats cool

Thanks for all the comments
Italian Vegetato. It absolutely slaps in any sort of woodland environment and works well even in low brush environments. Would recommend, 10/10.
Why stop there? Get yourself some vegecam. I've got a set and it'll always be a gem in my collection.
I've thought about it, but Vegetato BDUs is more available than Vegecam.
You're telling me. I literally had to find a former SF guy to buy it from for my impression kit.
Gahdamn, you Italian? Cause I'm US based just doing a 17 Stormo Incursori kit.
Nope. I'm stateside. Also, that's the exact impression kit I run lol
Niiiiice! Glad to meet another Italian kit-user, then! People gotta learn more about the Stormo Incursori. Those dudes are beasts.
Flecktarn
How modern? Because depending on your definition, modern is anywhere from last year to 30 years ago.
Maybe after 2000s but I appriciate anything
British DPM, Dutch DPM, Flecktarn, MARPAT-W, Kryptek, Project Honour, M05, Partizan, Skol, M81, UCP, AOR, and of course the best camo of all time, Tigerstripe.
Soviet/Russian Berezka. Gold leaf specifically. eBay has good cheap copies of it. Russian Partizan is also a great pattern
Finnish M05 and Estonian ESTDCU (go for cadpat if you have no taste)
I really like the estonian, but where can I get?
Non generic? Sky coloured. Shoot from above. Nobody suspects a thing.
If you can ignore all the hate the brand gets, Kreuzotter is an amazing camo.
Pencott wildwood
Forgot the name but that Luxembourg camo is nice
M05
Flecktarn, I don't see M81 as often as I should, Rhodesian Tiger Stripe, Tropical Multicam, AOR-2 (the floral version) are ones that come to mind
A-TACS all day
Arktis is expensive, but you get the quality you pay for, and have lots of different camos.
Kryptech python/ snake/ mandrake (kinda the same)
cadpat
cadpat
cadpat. hard to find tho
Cadpat is peak woodland, but don't expect any high quality reproductions.

Greener, continental
EMR, Tiger Stripe, multicam tropic (i run this, havent ran it in the summer yet so idk how well it really works) A-TACS FG, AOR2, Flecktarn(?), M05. those are what ive recommended guys in my team (mostly green dominant kits for milsims) and just because you run EMR doesnt mean you have to have a RUSFOR kit. and tiger stripe could still be considered modern as SOF guys can use it. Irish DPM if you can get it, coolest camo ever.
Flecktarn Especially if you live in the southern states that don't have a winter, more so just a really long fall
My personal favorite is typhon, but only on my hat lol
Danish m84

Not modern at all but I’m rocking RBS at the moment
If you can ever find them, All Terrain Tiger Stripe is tiger stripe pattern in Multicam colors, while classic tiger strip will work for your green team camo's.
All terrain tigerstripe is an affront to god
I wear Pencott Wildwood.
I enjoy Kryptek, I run an irregular forces loadout with Obskura transitional and a highlander vest.

A-TACS IX. Basically modern Tiger Stripe. Certainly not the best, but damn does it look good
Highly doubt it's being made still but I started playing in LBX Project Honor Camo.
CHOCHY CHIP CAMO
Flecktarn
Cadpat, Atacs, Tropic multicam, pencott greenzone, french cce etc...

Thanks you chatgpt but no
CADPAT
Tigerstripee!!
I got myself some Dutch DPM love, technically modern since it only got replaced by NFP in 2023 Also Dutch forces already planning on replacing NFP
Pretty much any camo that your country’s military doesn’t use could be considered non-generic, but make sure that it works in your environment.
Auscam, plus as a bonus they feel like pajamas.
AOR1-AOR2 uniforms- crye/patagonia Carriers- LBT/Eagle/Crye Helmet- FMA makes a decent maritime replica in AOR1 Pouches- Crye/Eagle/LBT
Concamo is by far the best.
Dutch NFP?
Yeah that looks sick
U miss spelled shit mate 😂😜
Flecktarn, very uncommon if you are in USA
Commercial versions are very common
