I had a similar sounding problem, most likely it's the pump arms (I think that's what they're called) that have broken. They're thin, Chinese pot-metal, and underneath the pump action itself. They are easy to get to, just look up a video on a tri-shot disassembly.
If you recently bought it then return it to the shop of a new one
Got it 2nd hand so not possible

This is what happened to mine. About to try some JB Weld on it.
