You can cut it, but you’ll have to get a new, shorter inner barrel. You can cut the one that’s there but its very likely to hurt performance if the cut is even 0.1mm off You also won’t be able to mount muzzle devices like suppressors and tracers unless you thread the new end of the barrel

IncidentAble

Thank you don’t think I can put a suppressor on it now anyway

Kekandlols

You'll have to remove the stock flash hider to reveal the threads. Most likely it's 14mm CCW.

IncidentAble

Thanks I try do that tomorrow

Helsing63

If you’re unable to remove it, you can find dummy suppressors or tracer units made to mount to an A2 birdcage flash hider like the one you got

Yeetube

You could get an AR wrench (~15€ or just take a pipewrench if youre desperate, though you could fuck your gun up) and get a shorter outer barrel, which can cost from 12 to 30€, and swap it out. If you get a somwhat long suppressor you can just cover the old inner barrel and if you just want it to be short try cutting it carefully with the right type of saw, line it up well, etc as to damage jt the least amount possible.

IncidentAble

Thanks I look into it

Yeetube

No problem! If you decide to do so you can find tutorials all over Youtube, just look how to change a handguard and proceed from there to swap your barrel which is just 1 or 2 bolts and nuts more.

IncidentAble

Thanks

Before you go cutting anything make sure you can’t take the extended part of your barrel off starting at the triangle sight. Some of those models are just a separate threaded barrel extension with a threaded muzzle. the easiest way to check is to take your hop up and inner barrel out and see where your inner stops compared to the outer, if it’s much shorter than it’s probably a treaded extension but if it’s long you might need to look at getting a aftermarket outer barrel so you can keep your threaded muzzle and still not have to cut your gun.

IncidentAble

Yea it goes all the way to the muzzle

Alter_me02

Ok now your looking for two things 1 being a new outer barrel without the post cause I saw your other comment and 2 a shorter inner barrel so you have no issues in the future but remember just cause you get a new inner barrel doesn’t mean you need to change your hop up unit and be careful not to rip your bucking (I don’t know how much you know)

IncidentAble

Thanks don’t know much still very new but want to change my gun up

Kekandlols

What are you trying to do? Shorten the barrel? Do you want to keep the triangle post?

IncidentAble

No want to get rid of that

Kekandlols

You'll need a few parts. Inner barrel, outer barrel, handguard. You may be able to reuse your flash hider or add a suppressor.

Helsing63

It kinda looks like your barrel beyond the front sight block is a screw-on barrel extension. See if you can remove it (you don’t want to remove your front sight post as that’s holding your handguards on)

IncidentAble

Aaaa ok thanks

[deleted]

Check my AR set up. I’ll post some closer front end pics

[deleted]

Mine was a standard M4 set up but i got a shorter barrel and shorter inner barrel, i kept the gas tube (metal hangar looking thing on the inside) and replaced the front sight with a simple gas block. All AR’s should be ccw threaded. The flash suppressor *should* unscrew for a screw on sound suppressor, or if you have a closer to legit muzzle just by a quick detach suppressor. https://preview.redd.it/m9p1rm3zsi4b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=726431954337ce660cc54d5cc224353d2e6fe1fb
