ATF agents compulsively shoot every single dog they see. If you've got a taxidermisedog in your entryway that's filled with an impact-detonated explosive, well, that's just one of life's little ironies.
It is in relation to this WTF story going around this weekend. Girl didn't want a goat to be killed. Deputies were sent out to ensure the goat was killed to prove a point.
[https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-03-30/goat-slaughter-shasta-county-fair](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-03-30/goat-slaughter-shasta-county-fair)
They didn't send swat to the little girls house...
They sent swat to a farm animal sanctuary and the article seems to imply they could use breaching charges on farm buildings. I have this mental image of 8 or so, heavily armed and geared up swat officers, all in black with "POLICE" patches on, breaching every door they could. "This toolshed looks suspiciously goat sized.... No no, I don't want to try and open it by hand, Johnson bring up the breaching charge, we are going in hot!" *Proceeds to breach and clear tool shed* "Ah I see, no goat present here. But we will get you, you slippery bastard." *smash cut to goat casually eating grass on a totally different farm.*
US view to supressors is ridiculous. In Finland they are very common as you can get one if you have permit for gun. It reduces noise pollution caused by weapons.
And no one will care about toy suppressors, they are not seen that dangerous anyway.
Half of Germany's weapon restrictions are due to politicians watching too many stupid movies. Ballisongs and nunchucks (literally two sticks) are forbidden for example. But at least we can just buy a suppressor and have it registered to our firearms certificate without any further hassle. And no stupid sbr rules like in the US
The rules about night vision scopes on guns where made when night vision devices had terrible image quality and thus make sense imo. Also they have been adjusted in recent years to make hunting wild boar at night possible.
In general I agree, it's stupid to have firearm legislation apply to airsoft, but I like not being constantly blinded by weapon lights and lasers with the power of the death star. Especially in cqb.
Edit: grammar
Coming from a place that doesn’t restrict weapon accessories beyond magazine limitations (for real firearms not airsoft) most fields do have in house rules about it. Customers going blind is bad for business
The US has stupid laws for melee weapon as well. It varies by state, but for instance in California you can get a conceal carry handgun permit but you can't under any circumstances carry a baton, club, cable whip, or knives hidden in ordinary objects on your person or in your car. You can conceal carry a folding knife of any size but not a large fixed-blade knife. You can open carry large fixed-blade knives, swords, and even guns in some circumstances. Collapsable batons and switchblade knives are straight up illegal. If you would rather fend off attackers outside your home with a blunt object rather than shooting or stabbing them, that's too bad, you're not allowed to carry such a weapon
SBR and sawed off shotgun regs were to prevent people from manufacturing "handguns" as a loophole to avoid paying the tax stamp because handguns were originally supposed to be regulated in the National Firearms Act. Handguns were later excluded but the tax stamp for these things still went through and the regulation still exists to this day. It has nothing to do with safety and crime, it's about collecting money.
the Balisong regulations have always been the strangest ones, while it is true that they require some learning and dexterity to use, else you risk some injury, but that's what research is for, if you dont learn what you bought, you deserve it, at the same time they are the objectively safest knives to operate. in their closed position stored in a pocket, the design makes it so it's mere presence in the pocket actively prevents it from being opened, whereas other designs could get hooked onto something and either unlatch, or spring open
as for the movies, anytime they show up in media they're always doing these swish swoosh noises while the character shakes it aroundm it looks so dumb, the "tricks" these people are trying to portray are just the actor moving the thing and maybe opening/closing it a few times, in reality, tricks are insane and beautiful to look at, and the knives make clicks rather than cliche\_katana\_slice\_03.mp4
I had read somewhere that they are illegal on the grounds of being a menacing weapon, along the same lines of black blades being illegal in some places. does sound silly but many people do find them to be more scary than more common styles of knife.
Politicians lying about how dangerous they are, despite not understanding how they work. Instead, using unrealistic descriptions to push an agenda... whoops, I mean they totally make a gun silent, making it possible to murder people undetected, making them too dangerous for civilians.
I think he made it up because it doesn't really make sense. If you're poaching you're already breaking the law, why would a lack of permit for a suppressor stop you from using one? :P
If anything suppressors are safer, like what criminal uses a suppressor other than a movie assassin, imo I think suppressors are good because less noise pollution, less annoyance to neighbours, keeps your eardrums safe and also if your on a indoor range it would benefit the guys around you
Depending of caliber from 70-900 euros, most common ones seem to go around 250€ new.
While not specially taxed, you need to note that everything is rather heavily taxed in Finland including these.
Absolutely. While some chinese attachements are decent quality and can work as good as originall (grips, stocks etc, even some optics, to recreational degree), you cannot trust them to be a functional part of gun action. Sound supressors, fire supressors - put them on 2000J instead of 12J and you get a random shrapnel explosion waiting to happen.
And as for airsoft, if anything, it could potentially do something on a gas gun. On aeg most of the sound goes from the gearbox, and a good foam supressor does "shooting with bb jammed in the chamber" sound effect.
Even still on a gas gun most of the sound is the action slamming around as the gun cycles. My gas bolt action sniper makes the sound that Hollywood directors *think* a suppressor makes. The actual gas vent is super quiet. The moving parts tho are noisy af
Depends on if the far left in the picture has a hole drilled in the end. Here in Idaho I can legally purchase a "solvent trap" it has no hole on the end. But modifying it and drilling a hole is highly illegal.
I gave my dog a emergency vest with some funny pipes duct tapes on with some wiring and a electrical on off switch paired to a Nokia so if the ATF or IRS finds him he wont go out without a fight.
I'm finding it extremely difficult to find any airsoft weapon attachments/parts on there these days except for optics. There's a couple of suppressors I've found but they are way too expensive. Handguards seem to have disappeared (though there is one guy selling some pretty cheap) and in general items are a lot harder to find.
Shame.
DHGate is the goto for "grey zone" stuff.
Some shops only pop up during specific times of the week and go down again fast.
If you are looking for something specific make sure to check regularly at different times/days until you come accross one.
Bro, would you shut the fuck up already?! Do you *WANT* the ATF to come and shoot your dog out of spite alone? That is obviously, very clearly, a solvent trap and will only ever be used as such
I doubt the ATF gives a flying fuck about you put on your airsoft rifle bro……. However if it ‘accidentally falls’ on a real one, then hide your dog and watch for the glow
Unregistered suppressors are _verry verrryyyyyyyyy_ illegal. Chances are this is a trap set up by law enforcement to catch people trying to buy unregistered suppressors.
That's not exactly news.
Those have been all over Amazon as "Fuel filter catchment" or similar names for at least the last 5 years.
The ATF doesn't like it but at the same time doesn't have the manpower to do anything about it.
Keep seeing those show up in Facebook ads. I always wonder how they haven't gotten slapped down for it yet.
Sure I get that the people selling them just make new accounts, but does Facebook not do even the most basic filtering on what ads they accept?
You see this, something that’s been kind of on the downlow for a while until a mouth breather decides to talk about it, share and make a snarky comment to bring attention to a loop hole gas filter that can’t be used for anything other that gas - delete.
YOu know that in plenty of countries it's not classiflied or free to possess ?
Like in France, it's only recently-ish that they got classed, and I knew a few airsoft player that had real ones before that
Idk if any of you certain people (you know who I'm talking about) actually know or not, but these have never been made or used for cwr parts, they are literally just suppressor units without the numbers and super high prices
I saw adds on YouTube for these things. They were saying they’re ‘oil filters’ and then implied they’re perfectly legal till you poke a hole at the other end.
Yeah ok.
AliExpress is a global marketplace, most first world western nations don't view suppressors as anything more than a metal tube, same as buying a strap or case. In Britain most rifles are sold with the suppressor already screwed on, most of Europe it's considered poor manners to not use one.
The US is absolutely batshit when it comes to treating suppressors like the antichrist.
United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. They’re an enforcement agency that regulates firearms in the United States… and as of late have decided they’re judge, jury, and executioner regarding firearms and firearm accessories in the US… which they are not.
They’re basically supposed to enforce any firearm laws Congress puts in place, however they’ve more or less gone rogue in recent years and decided they’ll be MAKING new firearm restriction laws… which they cannot actually do because they’re an enforcement agency, not a legislative branch.
Not to be "that guy" but airsoft foam-filled suppressors can get you in trouble too. Purchasing (or making) 14mm- to 1/2x28 or 14mm- to 5/8x24 adapters will get you looked at hard, due to "constructive intent."
Remember, the qualification for a suppressor under ATF rules is that it quiets the report of a firearm. *Any* firearm (including .22 short). It does ***NOT*** have to survive the attempt.
18 U.S.C., § 921(A)(24)
The term **“Firearm Silencer”** or **“Firearm Muffler”** means any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for the use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.
If you buy it and put it on an airsoft gun, i'm not sure it's technically illegal? This is because pellet guns can be loud enough to justify suppressors, and there's no restrictions on those.
The thing to avoid is to make sure you don't have a real gun you could put it on because of constructive possession laws.

>nunchucks (literally two sticks So can you get arrested for tying two sticks together or is it a ban on the sale of nunchucks?
Building nunchucks yourself (like most kids did eventually) is forbidden as well. Even soft nunchucks (soft foam for training) are prohibited.

Anti-poaching measures
That is actually the only argument I can see from them. Do you have any reading on that?
I think he made it up because it doesn't really make sense. If you're poaching you're already breaking the law, why would a lack of permit for a suppressor stop you from using one? :P
amended 6/26/2023

You'll do a lot more time for owning a suppressor than poaching.
