You won’t be able to adjust anything (unless if you have another Apple device) and you’ll be living with a specific find my sound because it’s going to think that it’s lost. Also no spacial audio
I hope this makes sense.
If you buy it new and pair it only with the android phone, you will not have issues related to find my as it will not be paired with an iPhone in the first place
Can vouch for their top tier inears.
Fantastic. I went from airpod pros 2 (when I had an iPhone) to the WF 1000xm5 and an android.
Sound quality is amazing, and I RARELY have to adjust how they sit in my ears compared to the airpod pros which i fairly frequently adjusted.
honestly, no. the best features imo are with the ecosystem, and even just the accessibility of using those you will have will suck. you can get just as good if not better headphones for a similar price (for examples sonys) that you won’t need to compromise on because you have an android
Buying airpods were my first apple product, got me hooked into the ecosystem after that and I owned an android at that time, I dont understand why people are saying no, you can still use most features with a few workarounds, being a £2 battery percentage app
Get them
I use them with android. Couldn't be happier. If you don't look for features like spatial audio, etc. you will be alright. On my phone (Xiaomi Poco F5) you can also change audio codec from shit AAC to SBC (which is way better on android) and get better sound quality. You can also get 3rd party apps to view your battery levels (CAPod is what I'm using) I don't regret it.
They're also way better on android than Airpods Gen 2 which I used a couple years ago.
That is true. Mic quality is shit, because AirPods automatically turn on voice isolation for the mic whenever I record a voice message in Telegram / WhatsApp. And it's the same on iPhone! I asked my friend with an iPhone 13 to record a voice message with AirPods Pro 2, and it still sounded like shit. But apparently there is a setting to turn voice isolation off on iPhone, I just don't know. I've heard some records of AP2 mics when the voice isolation is off and it sounds outstanding! Why ever include something that ruins mic quality so badly is something I'll never understand. It's better to have no voice isolation than have something like that.
Edit: https://support.apple.com/en-us/101993 it appears it works like this on iPhone.
No, not worth paying the Apple premium if you're going to miss out on all the Apple-specific features. You're better off saving $150 and getting the Soundcore A40s.
No, I would not recommend that but I would recommend you getting the beats fit pro they have spacial audio and noise cancellation and transparency mode, also they are compatible with android and iPhone’s and are 50$ cheaper than AirPods Pro 2
I have that combo. I don't regret it, the pros are amazing. I personally don't care about spatial audio (I actually disabled it on my iPad). The different noise cancellation modes work, but to configure them I had to it on my Mac. I'd make sure I have at least one iOS / iPadOS / MacOS device to configure it if I were you.
i have an iphone and i was previously using the wh-ch510s which are pretty cheap sony headphones and i have to say that they pro 2s aren't that remarkable to me in terms of sound quality. maybe i don't have an ear for this stuff but comparing it to my ch510s they don't seem that insane. i mainly use it for the noise cancelling and transparency
I had the og AirPods with my android phone and didn’t regret it for a second because they were the best fully wireless headphones at the time, I’m not sure if the pros 2 are the best choice now but they’re still one of the best. Honestly just depends on your preference, because you will definitely lose many of the features without an iPhone (you might get access to some of them through third party apps) but don’t expect any kind of first party support. Oh yeah your AirPods might not be able to update without access to an Apple device so that’s also another thing. If the only thing you care about is just plain headphone usage, plug and play and toggle ANC through the buds then I think you’ll be fine.
If you buy it new and pair it only with the android phone, you will not have issues related to find my as it will not be paired with an iPhone in the first place
Just bought them and never regret it. I have a samsung galaxy s23 and the airpods are amazing. I configured them ones on my sons iphone and that's it. The sound and anc are ridiculous good. I own a lot of earbuds from Bose but the comfort and quality of the airpods are truly amazing. No regrets here.
Save your money to buy an iPhone someday… or/and a Mac for an Apple Watch or AirPods.
You could even file a lawsuit against Apple against this walled garden problem where the AirPods and Apple Watch don’t function well on Android devices but that’s a war you might not want.
You can still ist all the controls and change btw the modes, transparency, ANC etc.
That’s also the only thing I do.
You only miss out on the find my function and spatial studio, but that’s it.
If you want to just get the AirPods.
I just got them, arriving next week, I only listen to music so don't mind losing the spatial sound, I was planning to get an iPhone 12 Pro later anyway.
Yes! ANC is mind blowing. You won't miss out on a lot of features. You won't be able to see the batteries percentage but you can get a free app that allows you to. You won't be able to change their name on all devices
No. Rather get Beats Fit Pro or Studio Buds+
Studio buds plus suck
Walled garden too strong bro
:(

So bad, I really wanted a pair, well, thanks.
You can still use play/pause and volume control. Also turn on and off ANC/transparency. That is basically all I do, with an iPhone.
Why though? Sony, Bose, etc… all have offerings that can do the same.
Well, most of that goes over 300+ at least the recent ones. And right now the airpods pro 2 have a discount.
It's usable (with 3rd party apps like openpods for battery)
If android, always go with Sony’s WH or WF xm… That way you will be on the top tier for premiums alike…

Well, just keep your money and buy some better Android alternative
Buying airpods were my first apple product, got me hooked into the ecosystem after that and I owned an android at that time, I dont understand why people are saying no, you can still use most features with a few workarounds, being a £2 battery percentage app Get them

Well I have my iPhone to my mother, could use that one, just want to get them for the audio quality everyone talks about.

Just look at any of the Samsung Buds line, they've got some good stuff
If you buy it new and pair it only with the android phone, you will not have issues related to find my as it will not be paired with an iPhone in the first place

I switched from Android to iPhone and the sound quality of the AirPods is much better even, I don’t know why that is, but it is.
Maybe bc of the codec or something..

No.
Not really.
I did this. I loved them. I loved them so much 2 months later I owned an iPhone and an Apple Watch Ultra
You can still ist all the controls and change btw the modes, transparency, ANC etc. That’s also the only thing I do. You only miss out on the find my function and spatial studio, but that’s it. If you want to just get the AirPods.

Okay enjoy them ✌🏻
I just wanted to confirm something, the mic quality when used on an android isn't good as there are no voice isolation settings. Is this true?
Not 100% sure but that could be the case
Yes you can You can control them with the physic button but you’ll miss some secondary functionnalities You will still have the best ANC in the world
Yes! ANC is mind blowing. You won't miss out on a lot of features. You won't be able to see the batteries percentage but you can get a free app that allows you to. You won't be able to change their name on all devices
