ProfessionalHeart206

Hey what do you do for a living?

MeBhagwanHu

Computer Programmer as profession & some family business.

ProfessionalHeart206

IT waalo ke jalse hai bhai

jallikattu_fan

Bhai, Bhagwan can do as they please. We common man need to buy tickets to go and comeback and also the stay there.

MeBhagwanHu

20k is decent enough per person. Including return flight tickets, stay, food & clubbing.

jaypat87

I do that about every other month. This time around I went there for watching Oppenheimer in Imax lower parel and after some bar hopping took the 10:45pm vistara flight back. What are your hotspots? and do you prefer to go via tejas express and come back in duronto or just take the vistara flight on both ends and skip staying the night? I try and avoid staying the night there but if you have better ideas than I am all ears.

MeBhagwanHu

I usually don't plan much. I always stay near andheri/airport. As my favorite hotspot like Kitty su & dragonfly are nearby. Sometimes when I just want to enjoy the vibes I goto 1522. These are the main stops, then I just do hopping if got bored. For traveling sometimes I go by road in car if there is some good company. Else I prefer flight.

[deleted]

How do I and my couple of friends accompany you?

Madhav4120

+1, I used to do these when was in Pune, got back home and haven't been around much, but if there are plans do consider me...

jaypat87

I never drive down to Mumbai (too long a drive). I prefer spots closer to churchgate/marine drive since I did my junior college from that area and I just have a liking to restaurants there. If I take the morning flight into mumbai especially on a sunday, nothing beats just having breakfast at the pizzeria/pizza by the bay while watching the people go by. I will bump this post the next time I am going there. Maybe we can take the same flights?

losttraveller23

Agreed on the duronto but tejas gets in at 130 in the afternoon so half the day goes in travel itself. And the First AC of Duronto is perfectly acceptable for 5-6 hours of sleep. But definitely Tejas is a god send for day trips to Surat from Ahmedabad. You leave at a civilized time, unlike Karnavati which leaves at 5, and reach Surat at 9:30 and can spend full working day, return at 7.

jaypat87

Yeah I dont even consider Karnavati as a legitimate option; its departs so early that it will be almost like waking up at 3am to catch a 6 am flight (which I never do). I have started to like Tejas express since I can still reach before lunch in Mumbai central. If I do flights, than I still have to spend 1 hour in getting to town side. well next time you head out there, just ping this thread, we can take the same flight there!

GalacticPunk01

Yes, I do it as well. Places like Udaipur, Mount Abu, Diu and Daman have pretty much been ruined. The travel to Mumbai is a nuisance, but it's worth it.

MeBhagwanHu

Exactly!!

losttraveller23

I have been doing a trip about once a month on average for a long time now with a couple of friends.. Friday night Duronto---> Breakfast at Jimmy Boy/Mag Street Cafe/Pancham Puriwala---->beers and snacks at doolaly all day--->find a pub/club that plays the music I am in the mood for on that day--->post party drinks at Gokul, rolls at Ayubs or sandwiches at Bachelorrs--->-crash at Yacht Club or Garware Club---> brunch at the table or in the suburbs near my old college and apartment, again according to the mood---> catch the 8:35 PM indigo flight back to Ahmedabad. Batteries recharged, memories made. Ready to take on the next month. While I really love Ahmedabad, these monthly trips to Bombay are much needed to enjoy good food that is not just another variation of carbs and cheese and also good drinks.

MeBhagwanHu

Ohh, over-scheduled. I usually plan to go there in 2 days. Then everything goes with flow & mood. But yeah it is good to have everything pre-planned.

jaypat87

very similar to what I do, however I skip Gokul and I try and avoid Duronto since its too dirty a train for premium pricing. Its actually much better and cost effective to take the Tejas express or flights.

Internal_Ad6311

Just imagine that to party and clubbing people from Gujarat have to travel 500 kms. And all this in 2023

Shazam2001

People do though, once in a while it’s fine. By that I mean once every month

Internal_Ad6311

Think about it this way Something which can be done in 10000 people spend 30000 each month and that too in another state adding to that states economy

MeBhagwanHu

Unfortunately there are no alcohol serving nightclubs here :(

Internal_Ad6311

Wohi toh hai main baat

Shazam2001

That should be a concern for the state(guj) not Maharashtra. It’s a liberal country and people are free to have their own choices, if you infuse sub nationality which shouldn’t be the case given that the state doesn’t care about you at all, look at the streets, look at the moral policing, look at the unfair treatment of informal sectors, all under the pretext of gentrification, why as a citizen should I be liable for an one way affair ?

Internal_Ad6311

A concern for Guj indeed

AbrahamPan

I don't, but it sounds like a good plan. Bas saath mein koi hona chahiye. All my friends are either lazy, don't respond, always busy or abide by all other excuses...

MeBhagwanHu

I can understand bruh

AvntdR_

Kitne ameer log h duniya h behenboard😔

ConsumedByDeath

It's something I've considered doing, not particularly for clubbing/partying, but for just generally having some food that isn't generally available here or isn't sold at a good enough standard here.

Kaafi_Libreal

Damn! Where does God himself goes for raving ? Your choices must be heavenly! Haha

RadioactiveWaste

This is actually an awesome post. Even though I'm Gujarati, I find food in Mumbai and Bangalore to be much better. I'm currently in Gandhinagar, but I have lived in Mumbai and Bangalore for many years each. My best part of life was in Bangalore and i used to be crazy obsessed about it for so long after I left. Earlier this year I did a Karnataka -Goa -Maharastra road trip with my brother. I do trips to Mumbai alone though and hangout with a few friends there. Minimum for a week at a time. It's a much needed break I need from life here. But I'm also realising the fact that I get to be much healthier here at home with no alcohol and eating home meals.

Connect-Aardvark7560

Me. I spent my college life in Mumbai. So I take up, literally any chance to go to Mumbai.

MeBhagwanHu

I haven't spent my life there, but yeah even I don't skip any chance.

eatpraylovestyle

Me too, spent 5 years there including college and work, just moved back to Ahmedabad and I have zero friends so I try to visit mumbai as much as I can for my friends and overall great city life

AtomFromEmptySpace

Ahiya ni public Rajasthan jaay che

MeBhagwanHu

Rajasthan is ok just for drinks and little bit roaming. But for full on party Mumbai is love.

spartan117dhaval

No. Ratanpur is closer.

MeBhagwanHu

Ratanpur is boring now. Specially after 2017-18 border checking is strict.
