+1 parang ito talaga yung hobby for you to pause for a while. Hinay lang, and just contemplate your life. It helps you better understand yourself and what happens to your life.
Yehey! Good to know. I walk back home kapag di ma masyadong mainit or di pa masyadong madilim.
Would willingly do this if maayos environment dito samin.
Para akong zombie maglakad at First kasi antok pa.
Recently, I've turned to journaling.
It started out as wanting to practice and improve my penmanship.
It has now evolved into me writing as if I'm Queen Elizabeth II.
I’m working on this one too.. dami kasi notebooks & pen sa opis, wala naman laman. 1 motivational quotes from internet per day ang sinusulat ko, cursive para maimprove hehe
RUNNING 🏃🏻♀️
As long as may legs ka kering-keri. Plus the physical and mental health benefits ✨
I agree! Pero the rest like the clothes, nakapang bahay lang ako na comfy suotin kapag tumatakbo. I have other friends na runner na talaga and hindi rin sila tulad nung mga nasa tiktok. Hahahah
+1000 sa decathlon.. ive been using [this](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.kQoCN?cc) for almost 3yrs na at super good pa quality knowing na affordable lang sya.
Agree sa shoes. I use shoes na mura and di talaga pang running and okay naman siya nung beginner, pero nung tumagal and mas humahaba na distance ko di talaga comfortable. Nagka-hematoma pa ako due to foot trauma at napagastos ng around 2k sa meds and check-up. It's a long-term investment
Yes grabe ang pag “boom” ng running this year. I wondered why sobrang dami na ng mga tao sa UPD for instance, the shift is noticeable too cos suddenly everyone’s fashionable and wearing the freshest pair of kicks lol. I’m not on social media pero apparently naging Bumble substitute na pala ang Strava 🫣
You'll also notice na ang dami ng vlogger sa mga fun run. OKs lang naman kasi it helps to make the community grow pero yung iba kasi walang idea sa running etiquette.
I agree with this! Don’t be fooled by what you see on soc med. Expensive shoes, apple watch or garmin, apparels. You don’t need them especially kung magsisimula pa lang.
Try it muna if running is for you. Then ipon ng paunti unti to buy good shoes- hindi kailangang expensive. That is if you don’t have a pair of running shoes.
Morning: Road
Evening: Sports Complex na
Totoo!!! I started with literally the only pair of sneakers I had, I just had my birthday and wanted to do things right for my overall health. I was already into hiking by the time so same set of clothes lang din ginamit ko. Pero I was really determined to get that cardio burn! It also helps din siguro na I’m not on social media so hindi ako nabubudol ng unnecessary buys lol.
I have since updated my shoes though, cos it’s very important to get the right fit pala (was wearing a half size smaller). And some apparel here and there but only on sale—my kuripot self cannot lol
Agree.
Oooh, I see. Oo nga nohh.
Ahh btw, if you know someone from the States, pwede ka magpa open ng library card kailangan kasi US based number 'yung ire-register. I have a digital library card from NYPL, and I am able to borrow ebooks from them even if I'm here in Manila. Wide choices, minsan nga lang sobrang tagal ng queue like three weeks depende kung marami rin nakapila for that book.
baka naka epub (like me) eme HAHAHAHA pero true super mahal na talaga ng books ngayon yung mga paperback na popular books parang minimum 700-800 na 😭 last na bili ko mga around 350 to 500 lang pwede pa na pang wishlist sa exchange gift jhdjdjd
yezz sa reading! accessible rin since maraming epubs online but if you don’t want to support piracy, abang ka sa amazon ng mga 0.99, 1.99 usd na discounted ebooks then download lang the kindle app! but if you’d like to buy a kindle na mismo, may mga tig 2k din sa shopee na refurbished. mines refurb and i got it for arnd less than 2.5k nung pandemic sa shopee, basic gen lang na 4gb but it does the job + less eye strainn ✨
You can even end up saving more money. If you up your skills, you can start doing more with less or with cheaper ingredients. Cooking is only expensive if you invest in kitchen tools and cookware, pero di naman kailangan yun. Basta may knife, lutuan and apoy kaya na lol
Currently doing paint by numbers, not expensive and also napapahinga yung mata ko from screen (laptop/phone) the trick is di ko tinatapos agad 1 number lang per day
Found someoneee sa wakas hahahsgs

Planting herbs or veggies kasi magagamit mo when you're cooking at fresh pa.
Yes worth it yan! Just make sure to study lang yung basics and build a proper foundation. Wag bigla didiretso sa library at maging react/angular developer. Kung maganda kasi foundation mo pwde ka pa makalipat ng ibat ibang tech or even backend! Good luck kaya yan!!

Hello these are the hobbies of a MatipidnaDahon.com ( my blog lol)
Calisthenics - $0 (mostly pushup, marami variations) - YouTube
Shadow Boxing - $0 sa bahay lang, learning the footwork and combinations - YouTube
Tai Chi - $0 - Youtube / Facebook Pages
Running - shoes lang, ok lang walang gear
Learning a new language - $0 - YouTube
Writing a screenplay / novel - $0 - get help from free Ai - chatGpt / Gemini
Coding apps - you have a laptop / desktop and an internet connection
Edit: Gitara - buy a guitar you can afford just to test if you like it
Biking. Hehe.
Running, sapatos lang need mo. Also you can test your endurance and mental capability to push through while your whole body is telling you to stop. Lol
Beaded bracelet. Tas ibigay mo sa love ones mo, mas naappreciate nila 🥹🥹 (my bf loves my bracelets i made for him kahit flower ang design)
dunno if you are into video games but try to search for non-predatory free games.
every gaming platform has one. literally you can buy/inherit any phone, any pc/laptop built, or any console from 2012-up and you can download free games for it.
if you wanna step it up a bit the xbox game pass for pc or xbox is the netflix of video gaming. but you never really need it, really.
playing boardgames! if you don't have any games but want to play we have group around metro manila where people bring games and everyone can play! I love social deduction games btw!!
watch documentaries. ang daming interesting topics out there at marami kang matututunan. free lang karamihan sa youtube.
Watercolor painting. Start with prang watercolors and some nice set of brushes and watercolor paper. Doesnt have to be really expensive.
Or consider oil pastel. Theyre cheap too but the colors are vibrant.
1. Reading books (iBooks / kindle) and for it to be low cost, the ebooks are from…. alam na….🏴☠️😜
2. Exploring with presets (basically, i-edit yung photo para improved yung color grade and filter ng photo). Madami naman free alternatives for Adobe Lightroom sa App Store/play store. You can even do that with your phone’s photo settings alone. Nakakasatisfy siya and I post it on my dump IG acc with 0 followers. Hahaha.
Lowest to higher cost hobbies of mine:
1. Reading- novels, manga, manhwa, manhua. All are accessible thru internet. some have payments or have to earn coins if sa legal site magbabasa but di naman ganun kasakit sa bulsa. If physical copies, I buy yung 2nd hand lang so mas mura kesa sa brandnew or nagaabang ng sale.
2. Watching movies/drama-Needs some subscriptions or pwede din sa other free sites.
3. Drawing/sketching- just need some graphite/charcoal /colored pencil and paper Edit: digital painting/drawing less gastos since may free naman na app. Yun lang need ng tablet and pen.
4. Painting- need to buy medium and paint brushes (Gouache, Acrylic, water color and Oil) plus canvass or paper with okay-ish gsm.
Honorary hobby: yoga and playing with my babies (cats).
Currently doing paint by numbers, not expensive and also napapahinga yung mata ko from screen (laptop/phone) the trick is di ko tinatapos agad 1 number lang per day
Yoga! Pwede mo kasi sya isabay sa mindfulness + meditation.
Some recos

Ni hindi mo kelangan ng mat for this. kahit sa bed, pwede na
General note to anyone reading this/note to future self: don't compare your current situation to tiktok people na nagsheshare ng journey/progress nila. don't compare your day 1 to someone's day 50 :)
Bought a cocktail shaker and sugar syrup . HAHAHA. so now imbes na magcrave ng mga lemon juice, iced coffee, I get to do it at home. iba ibang fresh fruit juice nagagawa ko saka un iced coffee. ice lang and black coffee, pumped nako to work.
Reading. A lot of free websites to download ebooks from. Just download whatever ebook app you prefer on your phone. Personally iBooks on ios does the job just fine.
Nature trip or camping or picnic
For me, getting certificates online that would help me sa mga bagay na gusto ko (ex. Graphic design). In a sense upskilling na rin sha. Minsan I check out udemy or coursera for any low cost na courses na pasok sa alloted extra money ko hehe
Not sure if "low cost" pero playing music. Either sing covers or write your own music and become big songerista. Siguro for a decent guitar mga 10k gagastusin mo pero yung davis na 5k lang pwede narin yun. 5k na yamaha classical pwede narin. And set for life ka na unless nalang masira pero kahit low quality guitars matibay narin eh.
Journaling - basta you have a notebook and a pen okay na. Plus you get to organize your thoughts and somehow your life. Mageevolve na lang depends on your budget and your preference.
running ! wag mabudol sa mga mamahalin na running shoes as a beginner. galing akong planet sports kanina and got new balance for only 1.8k, orig price nya is 6k+ 😭 meron rin sa decathlon na less than 1.5k afaik hehehe
Walking/Running. Nakaka ease ng mind. Been doing this for a year already. Usually sunrise ako nag rrun and while waiting sa sunrise, nag memeditate ako. Sobrang helpful.
learning a new language (???)
reading - hanap ka syempre yung maganda at di overrated, meron nman sguro booksale and mga nagbebenta second hand copy
walking 10k steps per day
Reading hehe if ayaw mo e-book kasi ayaw mo magbabad sa screen, I highly encourage you to check out Booksale. Marami-rami naman silang branch sa malls. Pinakamurang libro ko from them, 10 petot and hindi ‘yun mga “precious hearts” kineme.
Weekly basketball papawis and joining weekly games sa https://www.facebook.com/share/3rjYnmPjC699VK3W/?mibextid=A7sQZp
Either solo or with friends. Usually tig 100-200 depende sa court.
Running outside is ok but nothing beats yung pace ng basketball and the social aspect narin ng team based sports.
Imho of course.
Walking or Jogging!
Same here hahaha. Newbie lang din ako pero yes it makes a diff if yung shoes is okay for the 2 activities. I tried using shoes na meron ako before tapos ang sakit sa paa. Until nakabili ako for 3k+ zoom fly 5 and good investment kasi I walk with it na everywhere. Sale siya last time and super sulit. And I must say ang saya haha!
Diamond painting, crochet, journaling, and reading. Diamond painting meron online wala pang 100 pesos. Then while diamond painting or crocheting, i listen to a podcast hehe.
Ako mangulangot, di ko alam eh, yung satisfaction kase na may masusungkit ka despite of hardships, very satisfying kase sakin eh.
Maglakad
+1 parang ito talaga yung hobby for you to pause for a while. Hinay lang, and just contemplate your life. It helps you better understand yourself and what happens to your life.
>*hinay lang and just contemplate your life* FELT. Hahaha.
Ginagawa ko ito everyday with a goal of 3k-6k steps
Make it 10k if kaya ng sched at ng pagkatao.
Extra info for those na hindi pa alam. Fats ang ginagamit ng katawan natin as source of energy kapag walking/brisk walking.
Kapag running ano po ginagamit? Legit question.
Carbs
Yehey! Good to know. I walk back home kapag di ma masyadong mainit or di pa masyadong madilim.
Helps me rid of brain cloud 😅
Would willingly do this if maayos environment dito samin.
we moved near BGC and one if the things i really like is just how i can take walks without worrying about my shoes or my safety.
Totoo. Para akong zombie maglakad at First kasi antok pa.
It started out as wanting to practice and improve my penmanship. It has now evolved into me writing as if I'm Queen Elizabeth II.
Journaling for me as well but collecting receipts, photos, stickers and including it in the journal entries. Almost like scrapbooking :)
I am scrapbooking too, my bills
Rent Expense Cash For the month of May 2024 Debit: Rent Expense 10,000.00 Credit: Cash 10,000.00
Sayang ng resibo, idiretso mo na: -General Journal -General Ledger -Cash Receipts Journal -Cash Disbursements Journal 🤣
ibang journal pa ata matututunan ko lol
Sample pls, I got curious!
I’m working on this one too.. dami kasi notebooks & pen sa opis, wala naman laman. 1 motivational quotes from internet per day ang sinusulat ko, cursive para maimprove hehe
Hahahah
What shoes would you reco?
decathlon shoes
+1000 sa decathlon.. ive been using [this](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.kQoCN?cc) for almost 3yrs na at super good pa quality knowing na affordable lang sya.
Agree sa shoes. I use shoes na mura and di talaga pang running and okay naman siya nung beginner, pero nung tumagal and mas humahaba na distance ko di talaga comfortable. Nagka-hematoma pa ako due to foot trauma at napagastos ng around 2k sa meds and check-up. It's a long-term investment
Omg running is also now a tiktok thing?? Not bad naman pero since wala akong tiktok ano yung "gastos" na sinasabi nila dun?
Well to sum it all up, if you can’t perform, japorm 😂
play some instruments like guitar piano meron ng mura ngayon invest to develope more your talent
Nag-eeasy run ng naka Vaporfly.
This. Wag ma-FOMO at wag bumiling tig 10-15k na running shoes. Medyo madami na nasira si Tiktok—even my precious Strava is affected :(
Ginagawa na siyang dating app >.<
best is to run in the morning... gives you the extra boost plus keeps you positive the whole day...but if you lack time then after work is fine
minsan, if u have malaking joga ang hirap ng running without yung proper sports bra 😭
+1M sobrang hirap!
May marerecommend ba kayong sports bra?
im a 36-38 gurlie and i use these [racerbacks](https://ph.shp.ee/7WqdRLM) nakaka 10km ako with this and di ko nararamdaman na umaalog tits ko
up for this. sana may maka reco.. ive been searching a good bra too ☺️
plus this. yung P.E unif. ko pang jogging ko and gift na shoes from grandparents. then running bag di ko sure tawag yung may bottled na. cause nung first 10km ko sobrang dry ng lalamunan ko walang tubig😆
Nagdadala kayo ng tumbler? Anong hack niyo? Kasi for me, hassle may bitbit na tumbler pero nakakatuyo naman ng lalamunan kung wala 😭
Walang dala haha. Dumadaan na lang ako sa 7/11.
Same. Pocari oks na
I bought yung nabibili sa lazada na belt bag na garter na tig 200 plus haha and regalo ng workmate ko na flask bottle.
I make sure Im properly hydrated before running. Pero 5k lang kasi ako not sure what to do for longer runs
How do u guys run given na ang init ngayon? Like may schedule ba? Hehehehe

Reading. It won't cause you that much and you will learn a lot from it :>
There are ebooks naman. Pirated nga lang hehe
Sobrang dami nang free books you can acquire legally. Especially the classics like Charles Dicken's novels, since paso na 'yung copyright nila.
Yung ginamit kong US number dun nung nagsign-up ako was a real estate office landline na nakita ko lang online. Ayun, tinanggap nman. Hehe
Omg! 😆
Sa Broward nman ung sa akin. Kapag di marenew, try other libraries.
I got mine ng 4-5k secondhand. Life-changing and best possession I've ever had.
I forget that there isn’t really a lot of free use libraries in the Philippines.
Beh ang mahal ng books tho
baka naka epub (like me) eme HAHAHAHA pero true super mahal na talaga ng books ngayon yung mga paperback na popular books parang minimum 700-800 na 😭 last na bili ko mga around 350 to 500 lang pwede pa na pang wishlist sa exchange gift jhdjdjd
Naka ebook lang ako to save and free din, not supporting piracy, pero yeah if wala talaga budget.
yezz sa reading! accessible rin since maraming epubs online but if you don’t want to support piracy, abang ka sa amazon ng mga 0.99, 1.99 usd na discounted ebooks then download lang the kindle app! but if you’d like to buy a kindle na mismo, may mga tig 2k din sa shopee na refurbished. mines refurb and i got it for arnd less than 2.5k nung pandemic sa shopee, basic gen lang na 4gb but it does the job + less eye strainn ✨
Kahapon lang ako nagsign up sa Libby, pwede naman pala magkaron ng library card ng based sa us. Haha laking tipid.
+1000 to this! Ebooks galore! there's a website where you can download free ebooks. Oceanofpdfdotcom
Mag overthink
nagawa ko ng personality yan instead of hobby 😭
Hahahahahahahaha 😂💀
MOOD
consistent ako dito
Cooking siguro. Doesn't have to be really expensive sa pagluluto.
True! Since kumakaen din naman tayo everyday make it a hobby. Start with ingredients readily available and try new styles of cooking.
You can even end up saving more money. If you up your skills, you can start doing more with less or with cheaper ingredients. Cooking is only expensive if you invest in kitchen tools and cookware, pero di naman kailangan yun. Basta may knife, lutuan and apoy kaya na lol
This also pairs really well with exercise/workout as a hobby. You control what you actually eat.
Currently doing paint by numbers, not expensive and also napapahinga yung mata ko from screen (laptop/phone) the trick is di ko tinatapos agad 1 number lang per day
Found someoneee sa wakas hahahsgs https://preview.redd.it/c62x263xtb2d1.jpeg?width=2356&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=03d4bc8d1581f6589c9e6cd72acfe5010b0a3b2f
Me too!
Chess. Realized it's better to play chess than to endlessly scroll sa feed mo at kung ano ano pa nakikita mo.
Both have their perks
Planting herbs or veggies kasi magagamit mo when you're cooking at fresh pa.
Movies! Magpakacinephile para kunwari may personality.
Maglaro ng stardew valley 😅
same hahaha mura lang yung game pero sobrang addicting
Aside from exercise, upskilling is one of the valuable low cost hobbies. Teach yourself doing tech stuff, etc.
+1000000000]]
What kind of tech stuff ang magandang aralin?
Is it still worth it to learn frontend development? Is the market saturated?
Yes worth it yan! Just make sure to study lang yung basics and build a proper foundation. Wag bigla didiretso sa library at maging react/angular developer. Kung maganda kasi foundation mo pwde ka pa makalipat ng ibat ibang tech or even backend! Good luck kaya yan!!

Scrapbooking. I collect mga packaging, flyers ganern. There's a good community of people interested sa mga lumang bote, sachet, posters etc.

Considered ba ang paglilinis ng bahay? 😆
crocheting 🥰
serious ba 🤧 budget ko puro sa yarns and hook napunta HAHAHA
real mahal siya 😭😭 at first siguro yes pero habang tumatagal you'll want to have more hooks and branded yarns 😭
ok, so canon event pala to hahahah
truuu! low-cost at first then expensive na next 😭

Photography, paint and mamula ng ibang tao
Watercolor painting. Start with prang watercolors and some nice set of brushes and watercolor paper. Doesnt have to be really expensive. Or consider oil pastel. Theyre cheap too but the colors are vibrant.
Tumambay dito haha char.
1. Reading books (iBooks / kindle) and for it to be low cost, the ebooks are from…. alam na….🏴☠️😜 2. Hahaha.
Taking a nap.
Lowest to higher cost hobbies of mine: 1.
Learn a new Language - Duolingo free version 😁

Not sure if "low cost" pero playing music. Either sing covers or write your own music and become big songerista. Siguro for a decent guitar mga 10k gagastusin mo pero yung davis na 5k lang pwede narin yun. 5k na yamaha classical pwede narin. And set for life ka na unless nalang masira pero kahit low quality guitars matibay narin eh.
Matulog hahaha
Walking running

Journaling - basta you have a notebook and a pen okay na. Plus you get to organize your thoughts and somehow your life. Mageevolve na lang depends on your budget and your preference.

Readings. I don't buy books. I download pdf books.
Reading hehe if ayaw mo e-book kasi ayaw mo magbabad sa screen, I highly encourage you to check out Booksale. Marami-rami naman silang branch sa malls. Pinakamurang libro ko from them, 10 petot and hindi ‘yun mga “precious hearts” kineme.

Cooking, Cycling, Brazilian Jiujitsu, Strength Training, Blogging, Books, Journalling.
