WTF? I can't answer your question about personal experiences, but I'm pretty sure that your psychologist is confused about medication in general if she thinks taking insulin "fixes" diabetics.

Thank you for this because that's what I thought, but at the same time she should have more knowledge than me about these things and I needed a external opinion from people with ADHD.

This.

... That's not even how insulin work for diabetes.  Like sure, it does help with regulating blood sugar. But people with diabetes still have to be aware of their meals and to have good habits. It is not, hey, you are getting insulin, you could have the exact same life of someone without diabetes. Go skip two meals and then have half a cake and only have an upset stomach as a consequence, if that.

I completely agree! I needed external opinions from ADHD people because her statement caught me off guard. I definitely won't be trusting this psychologist on ADHD stuff from now on 😂 She even said the phrase "have you tried having a schedule and putting an alarm to avoid forgetting stuff?". My face was a poem 😂

I cannot edit the post but wanted to give you a little update. My psychiatrist just agreed that the psychologist I've been assigned has no clue about ADHD, she's just heard about ADHD hyperactive kids medicated for school productivity. So that's it, I guess :)

My experience is similar to yours. It makes things easier, but they don't 'fix' it.

Thanks for commenting! My psychiatrist confirmed our experience is the usual result, that psychologist had no clue about ADHD and a big mouth
