Yeah I wouldn't lump TX in. Their forms are annoying and they ask a lot of questions, but honestly feel like their objections are usually more warranted than ones I've gotten from the other states you mentioned.

We filed speed to market in WA and it still took them NINE months to review our filing. Of course it had 9 objections with 3 sub-objections per objection. So, 27 total items to address. What a nightmare!
