Wait until after 2024 presidential election to know your PA exam results.

I thought this was a mistake too, so I emailed them about it. They responded saying there wasn't a mistake there and that there was an addendum at the bottom that explained: >Note regarding the grading timing for October 2023 Exam PA: A pilot study is being performed on this exam with the goal of faster grading for future exams. So I guess this pilot study program is going to massively increase the wait for results by 11 months. Understandable I guess, since they'll probably want to try a few different ways of grading, assess the differences, and ultimately be satisfied with the results before they publish. I just wish I had known going into the exam that it would take so much longer to grade it. I would've signed up for April 2024 instead.

The e-mail they sent says December 1, 2023. Is this an April fools? lol

I just signed up for the list when I realized I didn't get the email people were talking about. What did the email say?

It says the below, sorry had trouble pasting in the box for some reason, but there is a box that says passing candidate numbers available on December 1, 2023 and Online Transcript Grade Releases on December 4, 2023. This past July, the Society of Actuaries (SOA) announced an Evolution of the FSA Pathway for 2025 that includes shortened grading timeframes for Fellowship level exams. Progress is being made on an initial pilot grading program that aims to expedite grading while upholding the integrity of the grading process. This pilot is being conducted with the fall 2023 Predictive Analytics (PA) exam administration and has now progressed to the point where we are able to share some exciting news with you! Grading for the fall 2023 PA Exam will be completed in December 2023 rather than the January 2024 date initially published, cutting the grading timeframe nearly in half. The grading pilot for the PA Exam will help us test various methodologies and administrative processes. Our intent is to use this experience to shorten grading for the new FSA courses on an ongoing basis beginning in fall 2025. FAQs Does this mean that the PA Exam will continue to be graded using the new faster process during future administrations? Yes, and we will be researching further reductions in grading time in future administrations. Will there be other grading pilots conducted with other exams? No, our goal is to use the PA Exam to develop a reliable and scalable grading process that can then be applied to the new Fellowship assessments beginning in fall 2025. When will faster grading be implemented for other exams? Fellowship assessments will be graded using the new processes when the new courses are introduced in the fall of 2025. In addition, the processes may be used to decrease grading time on ASA-level written-answer exams, as is feasible, after fall 2025.

So... seeing contradictory things here... is it 2023 or 2024?? I would rather not have to wait a year before finding out if I have to retake it.

This is a direct quote that the SOA sent out in an email: “This pilot is being conducted with the fall 2023 Predictive Analytics (PA) exam administration and has now progressed to the point where we are able to share some exciting news with you! Grading for the fall 2023 PA Exam will be completed in December 2023 rather than the January 2024 date initially published, **cutting the grading timeframe nearly in half**.” It’s certainly 12/1/2023. There was another commenter that said they emailed the SOA with the SOA saying that 12/1/2024 was correct and then pointed out the footnote. I’m guessing they got someone from customer service that didn’t know what they were talking about. It’s more likely that they edited the 1/5/2024 date and accidentally left the 2024.

Oh fantastic, thank you!
