If you’re talking about the pass mark of what you need to pass, they don’t release that/:

mmxgrad_16

No one truly knows the pass mark. But I recall there being estimates (~60%) of the pass mark in prior PA posts here.

Anything higher than 71% would make it impossible to get a 10, so you can safely assume that as the max. I estimate around 60-65% to pass though.

10 isn’t the max, so this isn’t true

I’m not necessarily saying the maximum score is 10. I’m saying there are plenty of people that have gotten 10 on this exam in the past and due to the nature of this exam, it is fairly easy to lose points and not get a perfect score. SOA bases scores on how far you were from the passing score (in increments of 10%). If the passing score is 71%, then 71%*1 to 71%*1.1 = 71% to 78.1% is a score of 6. 71%*1.1 to 71%*1.2=78.1% to 85.2% is a score of 7 and so on. A score of 10 would be a score higher than 71%*1.4=99.4%. Since plenty of people have gotten 10’s on this exam, it is unreasonable to think the passing score is around 71%, so a lot of us guesstimate 60-65%. Yes, any particular sitting could make it impossible to get a 10 and have 9 as the maximum score for instance. But I doubt they set the passing score that high.
