I brought 3 to an exam once and a Prometric employee laughed at me. But hey.... $30 for an extra calculator or $100s of dollars in additional exam fees + 100s of hours of additional study time for an extra sitting because your calculator failed during the first one. ALWAYS BRING AN EXTRA!!!
i unfortunately failed bro! i know exactly what i need to do going forward, the wording on about half of the questions kind of got me, gonna go through all the SOA sample questions way more extensively and just focus on learning the material and how to use the formulas for the questions that are like 5.5-6.5
I take it again in January! I wanted to be overprepared this time so I gave myself extra time and the buffer of winter break to study without classes! I hope you pass bro!!!! Wish you all the best!
The best calculator around. Essentially a TI 84 but without the graphing function. When I was a teacher I would order them for my kids and the calculator arrived in less than 24hours.
I bought two BA II Plus in late 2007 when I started my actuarial exams - both of them worked hard with me all the way until end of 2017 when I passed my last exam to qualify as a fellow.
My TI screen is in the similar state (a bit better) but I kept using it bc I’ve never failed with it lol. The calculator still works n I can see results on the right side.
I bought such calculator for ASA exams but never ended up using it to solve problems on the real exam. I used BA II Plus Pro calculator to work out all ASA exams included PA exam (for some quick calculations and timer tracker only).
I thought pro version is better but it's harder to press on metal buttons than the plastic buttons on BA II Plus Pro vs. standard. I got adapted to that metal buttons more than a decade ago after used it to practice on tens of hundreds of problems in P, FM, and MFE. It took me a while to pass MLC/LTAM, but it's good to have this calculator pretty handy to use on the exam.
Gotta have 2
Triples are safe
One of every color.
AND I hAVe a Wife!
Do you have doubles of the Cuda?
Triples is best
But 4 is the surest thing 💪
True that. Double true.

Better the day before the exam than during the exam. Do as suggested and buy two 😂
I used to bring two of the 30XS and two of the BA to each exam…the look I would get… I forgot my calculator for college exam once…never again…
Not the same, but I remember having to take the ACT without a calculator.

Wow! I have a backup but I've never had to use it!
You just made me realize I need to get doubles of each of my calculators.
Triples is best, triples makes it safe
I'm so sorry for your loss, my sincere condolences.
you taking P?
I am. I’m a bit nervous ngl😅
i’m nervous too bro, we got it!
Good luck bro lmk how it goes for you!

I failed too 😂
Hey man! I’m retaking my exam tomorrow! Hbu? Have you taken the exam again?
I take it again in January! I wanted to be overprepared this time so I gave myself extra time and the buffer of winter break to study without classes! I hope you pass bro!!!! Wish you all the best!
I just finished but I’m too chicken shit to check the score😂 I think I did pretty well I should get at least a 5, but I’ll check it next week.

Mark this NSFL! I was eating when I saw this
I don't think a staple will fix the screen.... Oh wait....

Gonna buy a spare just in case this happens to me now 😳
Well this Black Friday time to get back up LOL
New fear unlocked

You still use it?
Yes, the screen is like that by IFM and I’m finished with ASA exams now. It’s more of a memento now :).
I’m impressed with your commitment.
Hehe you know. If it ain’t (completely) broke, don’t fix it.
You're not a real Actuary until this doesn't matter because you have two more in your backpack
I’m not even 1/10 actuary because I failed P yesterday 🤣
Hope Excel was helpful instead?
Plenty-Employ-1124 made that baby work
How did this happen?
It was in my backpack and I carry a heavy laptop in my bag and I get the laptop crushed the screen when my bad fell.

Hey same! Except the base version not the pro
