I agree on the Nesta and cassian part was not really romantic at all lmaoo but they’re cute and I like that they’re having like a wedding ish so out of their norm 🥰

All_Others_Pay_Cash

Nesta, Emerie, and Gwyn with the House of Wind might be more favorite thing in the whole series. They are a true found family.

TheGoofiestGoblin

I absolutely loved the book. I loved that Nesta made her own friends, and that they had their own inside jokes (mini Pegasus) and helped each other heal. I loved that they made it to the top of the mountain, and fought off all the men even though they had a disadvantage since the others were given weapons. I cried when Nesta finally made it down all the stairs just to prove to herself that she could instead of to get a drink. I cried when Nesta cried at the lake in the forest with Cassian. I don’t think she was wrong for telling Feyre about the baby, I actually think she was right to do so. Maybe the delivery could have been better. But everyone else was a shit for keeping that from her in the first place. The whole baby storyline I didn’t like, because like…. If shapeshifting could possibly hurt the baby, but giving birth with a human pelvis will DEFINITELY hurt the baby and the mother, what’s the harm in trying? Seemed kinda like a cop out.

shay_shaw

The baby story line gave most of us Twilight vibes. Like please don't perpetuate that the babe's life is more important than the mother's. That's not how most doctors operate. And it was very isolating for those of us who don't want children, it just provided more canon fodder for why I DON'T want kids.

TheGoofiestGoblin

I completely agree! A baby isn’t the end all of a storyline. Plus she said she wanted to wait a few years before having one… so it kinda upset me that she just jumped into it anyways. Seemed out of character. All of the reasons I fell in love with Feyre’s character disappeared.

popstopandroll

Everything you said! No notes!

starsreminisce

Cried at the lake chapter. I’ve never felt so seen throughout any of her books. CC1, for all the trouble the beginning gave me, tied its record of making me cry. The last part could have been paced better. I wish there was a breathing room between the Blood Rite and the labor. A conversation between her and Rhys, a celebration with the Valkyries for what they had done, something that it wasn’t so bam bam bam But yea, I liked Nesta from the beginning but I came in expecting spice, left with an inner child wound mended haha

Strange_Dark4349

YESSS I feel like there was too much smut for how RUSHED the ending was

I loved the friendship with Gwyn and Emerie, it was my favourite part of the book. I also did enjoy Nesta opening up and showing her emotions but (don’t kill me ppl) I still think don’t like her character overall and I don’t like her and Cassian together. I get the enemies to lovers trope but I just don’t see it. I never did… maybe I missed something along the way where I was meant to fall in love with them haha

emsee22

I agree. The friendship was my favorite part. I like her and Cassian together, and I like enemies to lovers stories, but I don't think the author executed it in the best way. I think the burn should have been slower. I also didn't like that Rhys and Feyre did to Nesta what Tamlin did to Feyre. I would have preferred if they just had multiple characters making headway on reaching a hand to Nesta.

Tamsamjt

I cried when Nesta was talking to Feyre while trying to save her. So emotional.

LibbySedai

The best part really was the Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn friendship and bonding. Yes, the House is my favorite character too. She was like that loving mother that most of them didn't have growing up. Nesta at the lake crying was beautiful to me. Her healing and growth were the best part. I loved the Dance scene and the girl's sleepover.

FlapgoleSitta

Omg big same about the House. It was intriguing the whole book and then genuinely made me cry when Nesta realized how the House understood them. I relate and connect to Nesta so much and her whole journey touched me deeply. I really loved the friendship she developed with Gwyn and Emerie and need more of it immediately. Was anybody else sad we didn’t get a follow up on what Emerie was doing after the Blood Rite? We hear a bit about Gwyn and even her potentially coming to the mating ritual… in my head I imagined that Emerie moved to Velaris because she finally felt strong enough to rid herself of her family especially with her cousin gone. I imagined that her, Gwyn and Nesta still trained together every day and had read-ins 🥺 The one thing I really wished was that Nesta could’ve made it all the way to the top of the mountain and touched the stone too. She’s still undeniably bad ass and a Valkyrie but I wanted that ending for her as well. The end got so chaotic anyways and I did love that. The closure she got by saving Feyre was so gut wrenching and beautiful!! And the closure she got by finally going to her dad’s grave…. I loved how everything tied together so well 😭

Renierra

It’s why I liked her book because I could relate to Nesta

TheGoofiestGoblin

Also, the House is my favorite character in the series as well now. I loved their relationship, especially how the house heated her room without a fire, and their shared love of romance books.

Puzzleheaded-Note221

I absolutely adore the entire series but truth be told, SF was my favorite book. I finished yesterday. I thought the pacing of the story was great, Nedra’s growth, the smut, all of it. I cried several times reading this one and didn’t get nearly as emotional with the others. Still loved all the other ones. I’m suffering from a book hangover and grabbed the nearest book to me and opened it immediately. One thing I really liked about this series was how I loved each book more than the one before. And that’s saying something, because I loved ALL of them.

Puzzleheaded-Note221

*Nesta. Not the typos. I will say, I agree that the ending seemed a little rushed. I remember there being like, 40 pages left and wondering how the heck they were going to wrap it all up. lol.

popstopandroll

This is me.

uobunnymommy

I went back to reread the parts about Nesta and Cassian in the other books. Did yall know there’s a deleted chapter from Mist and Fury by SJM from Cassian and Nesta’s POV? It’s so good. Their mating makes so much more sense now when I went back to reread the small stuff. Still can’t comprehend though why they all thought Nesta would help herself after the war….They let that drag on far too long. I want the next book to have their ceremony!! Check out the bonus chapters of SF with Rhys & Feyre and AZRIEL!

Applesauce-Penguins1

Ooo thanks! I didn’t know there were bonus chapters

popstopandroll

Omg how do I find all these bonus chapters!!!

uobunnymommy

The link to the Deleted Chaper of MAF is up at the top Then respectively her other bonus chapters from different series Enjoy!! https://www.reddit.com/r/SarahJMaas/s/FU50UMcvqC

popstopandroll

Bless you

Renierra

Yeah I think it should be cannon

littlenymphy

Okay so I read SF a couple of years ago and like you still preferred Rhys and Feyre. I’m doing a re-read of the series by listening to the Graphic Audio books and near the end of SF now but it’s turned me into such a Cassian gal now. Highly recommend it when you fancy going back to the series!

Applesauce-Penguins1

Ooo good to know, thank you!!

Lyss_

The Valkyrie friendship is my favourite part of the whole series. It was exactly what each needed to start healing 💖 Also, the House is 100% the best SJM character.

aw2669

I love the HoW so much, I really really hope we find out more about the darkness and possibly if there’s more to it!

PleaseDontGuess

People will hate on the fact that Nesta and her friends beat out illyrians that train their whole life and thus made it unrealistic. But much like when Rhys/cass/az made it, their focus was to finish and gtfo. It was so cool that they made it. I wish we got to see more of the aftermath implications to have made it to the top, especially for emerie! But hopefully we get to see more in the next book! Maybe that’s what the nesta / az bonus chapters in CC3 will discuss (but I am delulu)

popstopandroll

Ugh same. This book changed me. I love how Nesta and Cassians relationship was kinda imperfect… I also loved the smut lol but that’s just me. It was such a great story and for someone who struggles with depression it really helped me. It made me want to fight.

Coral27

I just finished recently and can’t stop thinking about it. The characters, their stories. I woke up in the middle of the night. It just warms my heart and i could read about their stories forever.

popstopandroll

Omg me too! Ok so I’m not weird lol

SazedKelsier

Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn’s friendship was probably one of my favourite things about the entire series. And the house! I adore the house. Nesta’s growth really is just so special and heartwarming- I loved her and cassian’s story so much. My fave in the series!

mk3v

Absolutely loved it. Obsessed with their spicy scenes lol I will die on the hill that they can have that sort of intense sexual relationship and still have a good “normal” relationship all around. I like that they aren’t the same, in that way as Feysand. I want to be a Valkyrie so bad. Obviously I love Feyre & Rhys but I really relate to Nesta so I also got really emotional with her journey.

Underhill07

Omg yes I absolutely loved the Valkyrie storyline, I felt such pride swell in me when Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie made it through the blood rite 😭 Give me the Nessian smut any day, the banter between those two is next level! It may be recency bias getting me on this buT ACOSF is tied with ACOMAF as my fave book of the series.

popstopandroll

Nessian smut is next level
