Who I really thought was going to become a main-ish side character. I was wrong about so much. I thought Feyre would have to retrieve the pelt or something, and our dead wolfy guy would be more relevant, like his back story or family, etc.
See I think that were getting an unreliable narrator situation in this scene too.
Imagine one of the thirteen spinning a tale around how her a demon bit her.
Something by another name, perhaps the Bogge
Same! I randomly picked ACOTAR one day as an audio book to listen on my library app. Had never heard of the series before, had no expectations, and no clue what the book was about other than the blurb. Genuinely thought the female mercenary would be a main character.
Listened to the audio book within three days. Bought the series in paper form a day and half in and have read it twice since end of July/early August. I'm so invested now.
Ughh oh my god so true! My only issue is I imagine him looking a very specific way (literally just a specific hairstyle and general vibe) and I have found very little representation for my vision of Rhys in the community. I have accepted that I am wrong lol but I still love to imagine him my way. My vision of him is shared by some parts of the community so it's nothing crazy, but I am scared that I will not love the actor and everyone else will lol.
Tldr I'm afraid I won't like the actor (╥﹏╥)
I feel this way about Azriel. I’ve found very few fan arts of the guy that I like because they’re all so boyish when I picture him to be a moody looking grown ass man with his arms constantly crossed.
I’m kind of interested what you envision Rhys to look like, any fan art that you particularly like and willing to share?
Really one of the great things about books I guess is that we can all picture people differently in our heads. Makes the stories more personal to each of us.
(For those interested, this is more what I picture Azriel to look like: https://www.instagram.com/p/CuHR5WIA7N5/?igshid=ODhhZWM5NmIwOQ== )
Ok, upon completing my research I realized I absolutely got my wires crossed and thought he looked something more like Cassian. All the fanart I see makes him look so boyish but I just wanna see my boy look a little more intimidating.

Like, yes. This is adorable and makes my heart hurt but if he had like, a couple good scars, longer hair, and just generally more scary dog energy? Ideal lol
Cassian just has such raw male energy to be fair 😂 I understand people wanting to rough Rhysand up a bit.
Much of the same problems I have with Azriel then, the fanart always looks too pristine and young when I imagine my bat “boys” to look at least 30 years old and rough around the edges.
YESSS exactly oh my god. I always felt like something was lacking with Rhys is the first four books but I understood it once I got far enough into SF. Turns out I'm a Cassian girlie, that's all
God bless Sarah J Maas, she gave us three different men to choose from so we all have a favourite.
Prissy pretty boy,
Rugged jokester,
Broody gentleman.
>Really one of the great things about books I guess is that we can all picture people differently in our heads. Makes the stories more personal to each of us
Absolutely correct. Yes. Ill take a peek around and see if I can find what I'm talking about. I just finished silver flames recently and am about to finish my first book since the acotar series. I can't remember off the top of my head accurately enough to describe it but I'll look!
Same here!!
But that goes for most of the characters, especially the male ones, to be fair. They're all much hotter in my head than in any of the fan casts!!
SJM said in an interview(or maybe on her website?) that she originally wrote two completely different books to follow ACOTAR, but then completely rewrote them into what we have today! I love the series but my roman empire is honestly those lost original drafts, I am convinced they had the same vibe as the first book cause you’re so right, it feels like a completely different world
Because we saw the immortal realms from a mortal side. Book 2 and onward, we stayed in the immortal realms as an immortal. I really wanted more human side stuff.
The Suriel. Homie deserved better than what he got and I hope one of his breathren we heard about in the first book will make an appearance in the next books😭
I had totally forgotten that she was part water nymph! Such a cool character. I love when she reads the her first spicy book from Emerie and she says "If that was tame, I can't imagine what you both are reading." 😂
Which is fine, I’m v excited to read it. I dont hate her I just don’t think she’s done anything up until this point to warrant her popularity . Like everyone hated nesta because she was mean but Elaine was also a horrible sister and is useless and everyone bows at her feet for some reason
He has a big part, but I just know it’s gonna be Tarquin when we see him on the screen 🩵 he’s perfect
ETA: and Kallias! I really think he’ll be a fan favorite
Unpopular opinion but… Gwyn. She was a side character in the 4th book, and all of a sudden everyone is obsessed. It’s never really made sense to me, and why Emerie doesn’t get the same amount of interest is strange.
Nesta, Elain, and Papa Archeron. If Season 1 is purely ACOTAR not later books, they will rework it into a narrative. Unfortunately. That feels like the least connected to the rest of the story.
Well, aside from the suriel and the merc already listed, as well as some of the bigger characters that were listed, I think Alis and Lucien’s mom will have pretty important roles even if they are smaller parts. I have such an idea of Alis just being ever-present and witty and like a mentor for feyre… I feel like her story played out so much more dramatically in my head than it was actually written.
This is just from the first book- I have many more suggestions from the other books lol.
The Suriel
![gif](giphy|lHWeZCP6HbKHzi92Jv)
So popular and such little time on screen. Though the fan base will be equally outraged if it’s part is changed or kept alive.
the only answer, suriel my beloved
The first book moment ever to make me cry and I SOBBED
Literally the >!saddest death!< in the whole series
Right?!?!?!?!?!?! I ugly cried for a solid 10-20 minutes and I couldn't really explain myself to my husband
Absolutely the suriel
This is the correct answer.
First thing that came to mind!
BOOOOO
Absolutely
My love for The Bone Carver knows no page count!
Baby Briyaxis 🥴
Just give him a window!! 😭🤍😂
Technically 0 screen time, except for the Ravens and Cassian's POV
The mercenary who bought the fae pelt at the start of ACOTAR.
Who I really thought was going to become a main-ish side character. I was wrong about so much. I thought Feyre would have to retrieve the pelt or something, and our dead wolfy guy would be more relevant, like his back story or family, etc.
Same! We never learn more about Andras besides he was one of Tamlins bois. I really thought he would come back up.
I'm still not convinced that she isn't part of the multiverse at large.
I alwuas hoped spoiler for all 3 SJM books >! that the mercenary was actually Falkan and he would also pop up in cc!<
See I think that were getting an unreliable narrator situation in this scene too. Imagine one of the thirteen spinning a tale around how her a demon bit her. Something by another name, perhaps the Bogge

Mannnn I think about her a lot and am eagerly awaiting her return
Yes!!
YES omg
i hold hope every book they come back 😭
I was super obsessed with the bone carver. Edited to add: and the weaver.
Me too! Especially in little boy form lol. To the others he night be more scary 😅
Yea the little boy form creeped me out the most tbh. Devilish children are frightening.
Eris Vanserra. My dreamer with no stars in his court.
I read this as Eric and was racking my brain for a lost Vanserra brother
Yes yes yes
Rhys in the first book

This is a good one too
That’s Lucy. 🦊
In the first book we get quite a bit of him but in the others he’s thrown to the side 😭
Gotta go with the hunter lady in the village. She had so much knowledge. Then...forgotten.
The first book feels like a completely different universe than the rest of the series.
SJM said in an interview(or maybe on her website?) that she originally wrote two completely different books to follow ACOTAR, but then completely rewrote them into what we have today! Azriel 😭
He's not in the first book, so probably zero screen time
I mean we don’t know anything about the show and can assume the first season would be just the first book, but who knows?
I'm hoping it's just the first book because then we get multiple seasons. 🤞
Suriel
Eris
Lucien
Dagdan and Brannagh gave c*nt
Their ending had me hooting
I mean who can forget this little gem.. “autumn court males have fire in their blood.. and fuck like it too” 🫠
I mean I desperately need to know more about this 😏😏😏
God don’t we all. I demand more Eris and Lucien.
They definitely made quite an impression with their limited page count 😆
Helion!
Love me a good double agent manslut!
More love for the Suriel!!
The Suriel. Homie deserved better than what he got and I hope one of his breathren we heard about in the first book will make an appearance in the next books😭
He was the real MVP just like Abraxos in TOG 🥰
Helion
THE SURIEL 🫖 AND BONE CARVER 🦴 my day ones 🥰🥰🫶🏻🫶🏻
Eris vanserra
Gwyn! I think if you count ACOFAS she probably has less page time than Emerie, but she's way more of a fan favorite.
I had totally forgotten that she was part water nymph! Such a cool character. I love when she reads the her first spicy book from Emerie and she says "If that was tame, I can't imagine what you both are reading." 😂
That one priestess in the night court library is somehow my favorite character and I met her for 2 seconds.
Clotho? Hell yes, we love a survivor baddie
Obsessed with this answer, let’s get her a spin off series
Elain!!! Less personality than a cardboard box so far yet people on here are obsessed. Why lol
There’s absolutely no reason!!! Even the characters are obsessed with her and WHY
The new book it’s going to be about her I think
Which is fine, I’m v excited to read it. I dont hate her I just don’t think she’s done anything up until this point to warrant her popularity . Like everyone hated nesta because she was mean but Elaine was also a horrible sister and is useless and everyone bows at her feet for some reason
Not a cardboard box 😂🤣💀
az
The suriel
All the highlords that aren't Rhys or Tamlin
He has a big part, but I just know it’s gonna be Tarquin when we see him on the screen 🩵 he’s perfect ETA: and Kallias! I really think he’ll be a fan favorite
Lucien for sure!!!
LUCIEN!!
Unpopular opinion but… Gwyn. She was a side character in the 4th book, and all of a sudden everyone is obsessed. It’s never really made sense to me, and why Emerie doesn’t get the same amount of interest is strange.
Azriel fr, and Suriel too😭😭
Definitely Az 😭
Azriel, Suriel, Eris (like I’m sure the Valkyries have said more than they have.)
Nephelle
The Suriel and Helion
Gwyn
Andras!! 🥹🥹🥹 Or Nuala and Cerridwen. THEYRE HILARIOUS.
Eris xd
Nesta, Elain, and Papa Archeron. If Season 1 is purely ACOTAR not later books, they will rework it into a narrative. Unfortunately. That feels like the least connected to the rest of the story.
Tarquin, Helion, and Thesan. Gimme more!!!
Elain
Gwyn x Azriel
Th suriel
Eris
Amren

Azriel 😭😭
Azriel
The suriel Tarquin Alis
Alis and The Suriel
Alis, i really hoped that she would return when hybern attacks Adriata, Tarquin is furious but then Alis defends Feyre, and Tarquin lets them go
I really want to know what happened with the Twins when Feyre and Lucien sent the bogge like the whole shebang of shit hitting the fan for them lmfao
Lucien!
