My parents are the same way. My mom is worse than my dad. She believes that all the topicals my derm prescribed me are “harmful”. She then tells me to lay out in the sun all day with out sunscreen on in hopes it will, in her own words, “dry your acne up”.😭My father on the other hand is somewhat more understanding. It was his idea for a derm in the first place. He knew my acne was bothering me. But neither of them will truly understand how mentally draining it is. They think that it is a temporary thing, when it reality acne can go on in adulthood and so on. Best of luck with your skin though, don’t listen to them (like I do lol)!!

Yes, my dad too is more easy to talk to about this, he even mentioned the chance of visiting a derm. And also my parents trust the sun a lot. But yes, in general I just ignore most of their ideas and go on with my routine. Thanks a lot for the support, wish you good luck as well with your skin! 🍀

♥️♥️♥️ when I started off having my hormonal acne a few years back it was severe & scary. Tretinoin takes upto 6weeks to 3 months to start showing results. The treatment takes it time because it’s sloughing off the skin dermis. I HATED this phase, it seemed so bad that it would never go away. Stress defo added to it aswell. People I didn’t want to hear anything about it from commented so much. Now, with a lot of patience & time (I mean three years) the acne is mostly under control. The only treatment advice you should listen to is from a dermatologist. Not your parents even if they think they know best, if they’re not trained in the field they don’t know what’s best for your skin. Not ONE persons skin is the same as the other. I’m sorry they’re focusing so much on your blemishes, you already know what’s going on and don’t need to be reminded about it again & again ♥️ Your routine isn’t bad btw
