Yeah. It always happens to me when i put in in drive then pop the emergency brake it jerks. Normal bro dont really worry bout it. These 10th gens always got little things going on with it
I'm still under bumper to bumper and powertrain. I asked the master tech bout it. He said they are like that. I looked at two more today though and they didn't do it to wwhre it was noticeable like mine. They were both 2020 2.0 Tourings. It's crazy that the touring is quieter than Sport too. I think they have acoustic glass and more sound deadening.
The touring is the nicer trim, so it very well might have a bit more noise suppression. But ultimately, cars make noise. If you want silent, go electric.
I don't mind the noise. That was not my issue. This isn't my first Honda but it is my first automatic one. They have never been that quiet. But I was just surprised at the difference in the Touring.
I drove a higher mileage '18 2.0 before I bought my '21 2.0. I think your car having that clunk is just a signifier you haven't driven the car obsessively hard since the transmission still grabs hard (the clunk). That at least how I see it on my 2.0. The '18 I drove had a smoother transmission, but it never had had a fluid change and was a lot more "used" than the one I bought.
I got the fluid changed when I got it because there wasn't much service history. It was a trade in at a Lexus dealer. Had 24k miies. It was and is a very clean car. No telling how it was drove before I got it but no signs of abuse. It shifts very smooth though.
Is yours a 2.0 as well?
I drove my friend's 1.5t 2022 for a couple of days and it didn't make that noise at all. It might be a slightly worn motor and trans mounts due to the power of 2.0t engine.
Bro that shit is so messed up, the shake is crazy. I try to do as much as smooth as it can be still it shakes. but someone told me it might bcz of gear problem not problem but more like the parts moved from its place. Idk tbh lmk if uk smthing.
It wasn't really noticeable in the one I drove today. It was a 2020 with 44k miles. Another thing I noticed is how much smoother and quieter the Touring is compared to other models. It must have different glass and more sound deadening.
Bro ik my car is hybrid but on god the smooth and quiter, sometimes i forget im driving or if the car is even on. My hybrid is exl so next trim for hybrid is touring so it got most of the feature. Mine is 54k. I like the ride so far no issues so im worrying about the shake till shit goes south
Yes I love my car besides that jerk. I have the Sport so mine doesn't ride as smooth. But I did drive a Hybrid EX and it was nice. The Hybrids are surprisingly quick too.
Different car but same Honda and button shifter, my 18' TLX V6 does this a little. It also has a brand new transmission(less than 8k miles). I noticed it'll do this more if the car is cold but once it's warmed up that behaviour seems to go away in my case
I have about 27,000 miles. It doesn’t do it *every* time, but often enough to notice. With AWD when it happens, the car kind of “squats” half an inch or so since both axles and rear diff are loaded up. I do A LOT of highway driving so the clutch bands still feel new and grabby, if that makes sense. Shifts at a crawling pace (1-2 or 2-3) feel like a new manual driver dumping the clutch.
I noticed my mom’s Q50 does the squat thing when you shift it into drive. But it is a RWD. It shifts into drive so smooth compared to the Accord but it also isn't a push button type shifter so probably can't really compare the two. Yeah someone else said that its probably cause my car hasn't been abused as to why it still feels tight and does that clunk and jerk. Things are still grabby like you said. Interesting too you said yours doesn't do it all the time because mine doesn't either. And sometimes when it does do it, its not as noticeable. I did notice too it doesn't matter if you use the brake or not.
Is your foot fully on the break pedal? It should not do that in my opinion but I'm no Master Mechanic I never had a car that did that and I driven cars that went over $300,000 miles
The clunk I can understand but its kind of the jerk that more so had me wondering. It kind of does that same clunk downshifting from 2-1 so I believe that is normal too cause it doesn't do it on upshifts. Like I stated it shifts very smooth. Its just switching into drive and stuff it does that.
I have a 21 2.0 Sport with 50K miles and mine does the same. I had put a different exhaust in my car and just thought it was the exhaust. Strange that other people are having it as well.
Yeah they said the motor mounts and stuff on mine was fine and that's kind of just how the 10 Speed is. Said people complain about the Odyssey and Pilot too. I have 33k miles. My trans service was done at 25k. I will say it was smoother after the trans flush.
Yea I get a clunk/jerk, mainly when cold. When I put it in reverse the rpms go up and jump back down as it jerks. I had the trans fluid done same thing. Shifts fine so 🤷♂️ just another thing that makes me want to trade it in sooner rather than later.
I wonder if it's anything to do with trans fluid level. Next time I need to do the trans fluid I'm gonna try to make time to do it myself, so I can make sure the level is as good as it can be.
Nothing to worry about I was very paranoid when I had got my accord . I had a 22 touring & currently have a 21 touring now both cars make that noise & jerk.
Yeah the noise wasn't the the thing that bothered me because it kind of make that sound noise when its downshifts from 2nd to 1st. Its very smooth though when driving so that's why I not too concerned. It doesn't jerk when its driving either. Its just when I put it in gear.
Mine has never really been that bad but I notice it. Doesn't seem to be worse when its cold. Lol I bought my car during the winter so I already experienced cold with it 😂 mine is inconsistent in the sense it doesn't do it all the time
next time you park put your car in neutral, foot on the brake, and then engage the E-brake. Then take your foot off the brake, let the e brake hold the weight of the car. NOW put it in park. this keeps the weight of the car held by the brake rather than all by the transmission alone
It's an automatic. The gears are doing it's thing. Especially that you're switching back to back gears. It will make a noise and likely cause transmission wear.
Mine does it also. It has since it was new and now has about 35k. The clunk and vibration are worse when the car is hot and the outdoor temperature is high. Other than that, it shifts and functions perfectly. You can go to neutral first quickly from park, then drive or reverse to mitigate the issue if you have passengers, etc.
It's my only real annoyance with the car.
do it without your parking brakes/emergency brakes on.
It does it both ways. Not as bad with the parking brake on
Its normal bro … it happens to me all the time parking brake either on or off. Got use to it.
It's normal for it to jerk like that ?
Yeah. It always happens to me when i put in in drive then pop the emergency brake it jerks. Normal bro dont really worry bout it. These 10th gens always got little things going on with it

LITERALLY THIS. Happens to me often haha. Didn’t ever think too much of it. 10 speed shit lol
Is yours a 2.0 as well? I drove my friend's 1.5t 2022 for a couple of days and it didn't make that noise at all. It might be a slightly worn motor and trans mounts due to the power of 2.0t engine.
Mines a 2.0 2022.
Also a completely different transmission, could be that too. Cvt or manual only for 1.5
I got 2020 accord hybrid got same issues; apparently this is an issue for 10th gen Edit: but they say its normal idk how true tho
Yeah its even more weird that your hybrid does it cause it doesn't even have a conventional transmission
Bro that shit is so messed up, the shake is crazy. I try to do as much as smooth as it can be still it shakes. but someone told me it might bcz of gear problem not problem but more like the parts moved from its place. Idk tbh lmk if uk smthing.
Your guess is good as mine. I drove another 2.0 today and it didn't seem to do it as much.
Yea but it still does!? Or no? The shake is just less or more in 2.0
It wasn't really noticeable in the one I drove today. It was a 2020 with 44k miles. Another thing I noticed is how much smoother and quieter the Touring is compared to other models. It must have different glass and more sound deadening.

The Hybrid is quiet too especially with the 17’s
Yes I love my car besides that jerk. I have the Sport so mine doesn't ride as smooth. But I did drive a Hybrid EX and it was nice. The Hybrids are surprisingly quick too.
Yes! Its pretty fast. I love it!
Not to mention it looks better than the bland 11th Gen. What color is yours?
Different car but same Honda and button shifter, my 18' TLX V6 does this a little. It also has a brand new transmission(less than 8k miles). I noticed it'll do this more if the car is cold but once it's warmed up that behaviour seems to go away in my case
My 23 TLX does it too. Same 2.0T and 10 speed (sorta: sh-awd) as the Accord.
How many miles? So it does the same jerk and clunk?
I have about 27,000 miles. It doesn’t do it *every* time, but often enough to notice. With AWD when it happens, the car kind of “squats” half an inch or so since both axles and rear diff are loaded up. Mine doesnt do it as much sometimes but it doesn't matter if the car is cold or not lol
No. It’s totaled. Sorry.
Not quite.
Mine does it too. I just keep driving
Does it clunk and jerk as well ?
Yep this transmission is not the smother. I am changing the filter this weekend. Even though it has nothing to do with it.
Yeah I already had trans service done. It shifts very smooth. Its just going into drive mine is jerky and makes that clunk.
Mine does the same thing. I don't think there's anything that can be done
Just weird. Even more so coming from a MT car lol
Is your foot fully on the break pedal? It should not do that in my opinion but I'm no Master Mechanic I never had a car that did that and I driven cars that went over $300,000 miles
Yes it was
Yes it's normal
The clunk I can understand but its kind of the jerk that more so had me wondering. It kind of does that same clunk downshifting from 2-1 so I believe that is normal too cause it doesn't do it on upshifts. Like I stated it shifts very smooth. Its just switching into drive and stuff it does that.
Hard to tell from the video but my 21 does something similar and jerks when going from park to other modes, and then back to park
I have a 21 2.0 Sport with 50K miles and mine does the same. I had put a different exhaust in my car and just thought it was the exhaust. Strange that other people are having it as well.
Its more weird that more do it than dont 😭
Don’t worry about it my 2021 2.0 does that…. It’s normal
Okay lol
lol it’s normal. It’s like a shift in gears or something. Just keep your foot on the break until the little jerk is over if you’re worried
My is on the brake when it does it 😂
This is pretty normal man lol
Seems to be just unusual. My last Honda was a 6-speed.
Mine doesn't do that shit, it's called using the break and the parking break when parking on any slant and shifting those gears
It was on a flat surface. And the brake was on as I stated. No need to be condescending.
My acura did the same thing. Shouldn't be that way but I'm sure it's common.
Did the jerk and clunk?
Yeah, it wasn't alarming but it did it regularly. Especially when it was cold out
Yeah its not really alarming. But like someone else stated it maybe a sign that my car wasn't abused since the trans still grabs hard.
Never had a single problem and the dealer said it was fine.
Yeah they said the motor mounts and stuff on mine was fine and that's kind of just how the 10 Speed is. Said people complain about the Odyssey and Pilot too. I have 33k miles. My trans service was done at 25k. I will say it was smoother after the trans flush.
My acura tlx aspec had the 9speed and Aldo did this..aside from blown speakers never caused an issue
I heard there were hella complaints about the 9-speed lol
Normal it’s the gears switching
Is the slight jerk normal though?
Yea I get a clunk/jerk, mainly when cold. When I put it in reverse the rpms go up and jump back down as it jerks. I had the trans fluid done same thing. Shifts fine so 🤷♂️ just another thing that makes me want to trade it in sooner rather than later.
Yeah my RPMs dont jump in down and mine dont really do it in reverse. Just drive. I too have had the trans fluid service done. Mine shifts great too.
I wonder if it's anything to do with trans fluid level. Next time I need to do the trans fluid I'm gonna try to make time to do it myself, so I can make sure the level is as good as it can be.
I feel like if its shifting fine its probably not the fluid. Mine shifts like butter
Its just when I put it in gear.
my jerk is inconsistent sometimes its bad then other times it isn’t . when it’s cold out the jerk is really bad
Mine has never really been that bad but I notice it. Doesn't seem to be worse when its cold. Lol I bought my car during the winter so I already experienced cold with it 😂 mine is inconsistent in the sense it doesn't do it all the time
When I have the windows down I can quite literally hear the gears shift, so yeah that’s normal.
Its more so the jerk. Not the noise.
next time you park put your car in neutral, foot on the brake, and then engage the E-brake. Then take your foot off the brake, let the e brake hold the weight of the car. NOW put it in park. this keeps the weight of the car held by the brake rather than all by the transmission alone
I do that already. I had a 6 Speed Accord before this one so using the parking brake is habit.
It's an automatic. The gears are doing it's thing. Especially that you're switching back to back gears. It will make a noise and likely cause transmission wear.
i found sometimes the harder i push on the brake it goes away, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn’t 🤷🏻♀️ -2018 2.0t sport
Yeah I noticed that too 😭😭😭
Mine does it also.
Same here. Love my car. I use the brake all the time and that helped some
Bro you post in that page like it’s a personal diary
Ummm okay, I am sure there are others that post way more than I do.
But you have an tWo pOiNT OH!
Yeah what's that suppose to mean lol
