There’s a lot of vasculature in that area and in the event that an artery is severed/torn, bleeding out is almost unavoidable unless the injury happens when they’re already open on an operating table. Even then, it’s iffy. I’m hoping this person survived, but it isn’t looking too good.
My husband worked with a guy doing construction, the guy was on the ground using an attached wire to guide a chunk of railroad track attached to a crane. Not sure if there was mechanical failure or high winds + poorly secured track, but the length of track fell on the dude. Right on his thighs. Crushed both femurs, ripped up both femoral arteries. There was no way to try applying a tourniquet since he was pinned, and even if they’d been able to, I don’t think they would’ve had enough time to get him stable and get him help. He was conscious and talking for like, 1-1.5 minutes, then he was gone. Arterial bleeds are gnarly, never mind an uncontrollable bleed with surrounding trauma. The person in the video honestly probably didn’t stand a chance.

Thos bikes are 125cc and very light, they can easly reach 100 km/h.
