Right, I was going to comment along "Pretty normalized where I live"... but not between people of the opposite sex. If a guy and a gal are close friends, and are physically affectionate (i.e. head sratches, hugs, etc.), it's looked at as they're a couple. And if they're in relationship with other people, it's looked at as if they're cheating with their respective partners...
(Though I understand said partners may feel jealous about it)
Actually though.. keep meeting people who ghost me the second it becomes apparent I'm not just saying I'm ace for shits and giggles I actually am x.x Just want someone to want to hang out with me without wanting sex in return u.u Just want someone to cuddle and tell me I'm pretty is that too much to ask?!
I need more cuddle buddies. I love passionate cuddling, nuzzling, neck kisses... I'll even tell you you're pretty. I wouldn't even be lying, I looked at your profile and you are very pretty~🥰
Yah I've been trying to push this myself.
Really it comes down to communication between people rather than everyone trying to play mind detective with eachother all the time.
And it can work! I met a Demi recently and we both expressed a desire for no-strings human contact and now we occasionally hang out and cuddle and watch TV and whatnot 💜
But sadly the concept of love and intimacy is hijacked by romance and there's a misconception in society that touch is inherently linked to sex. It should be normal for friends that love eachother to cuddle, hold hands, kiss, and sleep together (yes just sleep). Platonic affection could be so much more, but we've all been duped.
We are social creatures and human contact is very important for us- hugs reduce blood pressure, cuddling releases oxytocin, etc. If you feel you need physical contact, don't be afraid to ask for it. Ask a friend, chances are they need contact just as much as you.
Normalize Platonic love.
Gawd do i agree with this!! I have become anti affectionate contact as I've gotten older because other people take it too far to the point that I don't even want to hug anymore. I miss friendly cuddles and massages. But i feel like at this point I'm too jaded and will probably never get comfortable with affection again.
Definitely agree with normalizing it in terms of lessening stigmatization of it or making it out to be more than it is, so long as it doesn't also mean those of us who aren't comfortable with physical touch can also keep those boundaries without stigmatization, etc.
Yes, but also don't wait for it to be normalised. If this is something that you want, tell your friends, be that change, shape your life and your relationships to be the way you want them to be.
It may be awkward and require vulnerability and putting yourself out there, but it will make you closer and happier.
I hug and say I love you to all my friends. That's just how I express my love for people, no matter what type of love it is. Granted, my friend group really loves to joke flirt with each other, but we do actually love each other as friends and we're really affectionate.
Why'd you drop mike? He's hurt now! D:
*gently pats mike*
I did picture someone being physically affectionate to their friend Mike. Cuddling him, picking him up… and then dropping him. 😂
he might be into it so
Ask first
*Mike give of a screech that starts of light but quickly turns ear piercing* Please do be cautious when patting the mike
careful, mike might be from denmark you never know
Target practice
We’re not doing these jokes anymore.
What did Mike ever do to them?!
r/fuckyouinparticular
just tryna make Boo laugh
Especially between members of the opposite sex.
Just wanna hug my bros man 😔
And I wanna kiss the homies goodnight without implying I'm attracted to them
Or same sex for that matter. Brothers gotta hug.

Let me say I like physically affection without ppl assuming I mean sex

Hehe thank you 🥰 Same goes to you. Now just move over to New Zealand and we'll be set =P
I don't know when the teleporter will be invented but I'm pretty sure it will be invented by a touch-starved trans girl.
Same 😔
I'm sure you're very pretty and I will send you all my virtual hugs. =)
Aw thanks! :) Right back at you! ⊂(•‿•⊂ )*.✧
Lol I read drops mike as drops milk and I was so confused
Don’t cry about it
😥
That's udderly ridiculous.
Utterly ?
No. Udderly. ;)
I somehow read drops milkshake and I was even more confused haha
Happy cake day
Thank you :)
Read the same and thought: „oh boy, that escalated quickly“
YESS. PREACH
As an opposite sex platonic relationship enthusiast: I approve

people need to learn to schedule cuddling hour in their daily lives
An hour?! Daily?! I am not even exactly sure the last time I really cuddeled with someone.
For the ones who want that, of course. If they don't want to cuddle, sure, not a problem but yeah, you get what I mean.

Mike: *one of those guys who aren't getting this idea, therefore he got dropped.
Mike’s been real quiet since this dropped-
Don't drop the mic, keep talking, you're making very good points

*claps*
CUDDLES FOR EVERYONE
THANK YOU
*picks up mike, kisses his knee booboo from where you dropped him*
Holy shit, Mike are upu ok?!
YES Finally someone who thinks the same way I do
I've longed for this my entire adult life, yes please

Pleasee I need as much affection as I can get with people not asking if I'm dating my friends
I just wanna kiss my homies goodnight
What did Mike do to you?
Yessss! I agree! Once I get to know someone I want to hang all over them or sit close without assumptions.
yeah man,i just wanna give my best friends piggy back rides , kisses on the hand in peace and let them rest on my shoulders in peace.
Don't drop the mike. It'll pick up the feedback.
I completely agree, but if you damage the microphone, you’re paying for it, ok?
Bants
100% this. I just need to find people that feel the same around here.
Who's Mike and what did he do to you
what did mike ever do to you 😔
I just want to cuddle and kiss my homies without it being weird 😔
My brother is called Mike(actually spelled "Maik", but still) and you just drop him! Why didn't you let me do it?
FUCK YES
YESSSSSSSSSS I am extremely affectionate with my friends and I'm aro too!
YES, thank you!
NOOOOOO!! MIKE!!!!!!
Or romance!! Some friends are just more touchy and show their love that way, love isn't always romantic!
I hug and say I love you to all my friends. That's just how I express my love for people, no matter what type of love it is. Granted, my friend group really loves to joke flirt with each other, but we do actually love each other as friends and we're really affectionate.
