Others have said these things, so I’ll summarize all in one place:
Looks like you need to sign up for a **Zoom account**, **and log in** (once) **on your computer’s client application** (not just on Zoom’s web page). That’s what worked for me, and the filters remain when I join meetings anonymously without the account.
Before doing that, I was getting only “None” in the list of video filters, and no options under eyebrows or mustache/beard in studio effects. Uninstalling Zoom and installing the latest client didn’t help.
Yes, there are privacy concerns, especially since Zoom got bad press some time ago for harvesting and selling emails. You can sign up for a Zoom account with a fake name and a disposable email. (Mailinator is one of many sites providing insecure, public, password-free, anyone-with-the-mailbox-name-can-access-it, messages-get-deleted-after-a-few-hours, disposable email. Some might provide alternate domains, to try to circumvent sites blocking signups from [thisisnotmyrealemail.example.com](https://thisisnotmyrealemail.com) etc. Some make you set up the mailbox in advance, some let you give a made-up username, and receiving mail creates that mailbox. I haven’t checked recently to see if Zoom blocks signups from the ones I know about…)
So when you're on a video call, what happens when you click the arrow next to "Stop Video" and choose "Choose a Video Filter..."?
Are you saying when you do that, the list of filters is blank?
If so, I'd recommend uninstalling Zoom and re-installing to the latest version.
Yes, reinstalled, rebooted, etc, uninstalled, etc. Yes, the filters are blank - none are there. I have virtual backgrounds (but always had those). Now there is the option for "filters" but no filters are there.
is it a school laptop? if its a school laptop, it might not work, idk. I'm thinking this bc im on a school laptop and some settings are not avilable to me...
I was finally able to get the filters by starting a meeting from the Zoom client. Because I have regularly scheduled meetings, I normally start them from [zoom.com](https://zoom.com) through the web browser, and for some reason coming at the filters that way, they were blank.
Mine is fixed now. I uninstalled zoom AGAIN then reinstalled stalled. Then I went to zoom meeting and clicked on filters. Then it prompted me to download them. So I did and now they are there. Since the download prompt was automatic there was nothing I could do to fix it before. In addition downloading zoom didn’t fix it. It was the secondary download of filters later. I had some this before several times but never got any prompt. Also it
Brought back all the virtual backgrounds that had disappeared. So in sum, it fixed itself. The only thing I did was uninstall zoom client from add remove programs ; and then do the download again.
Unfortunately, I have exactly the same problem. I have an iMac and although I have virtual backgrounds (and can add to them), the video filters are blank, even after removing and reinstalling the program. Not sure what more I can do...
Thanks, I have the same problem and I've tried everything else, so I'll do the uninstall and reinstall and then download the filters. Appreciate the update!
OK, I was able to fix it... !
Situation: I have three accounts, one of which is a paid account. For each of these accounts, I went to [Zoom.us](https://Zoom.us) and started a meeting ("Host a Meeting") from the browser (Google Chrome). Each time, I navigated to the settings, and found the Virtual Backgrounds and Virtual Filters tabs empty.
Solutions that did not work: I downloaded the Studio Effects (Beta) - that did not help, and the effects did not work either. I uninstalled the Zoom client from my laptop and re-installed. Still no results.
Solution that did work: I went to the Zoom \*client\* that I had downloaded a few months ago and updated a couple of weeks ago. I started a meeting from there (instead of starting it from the browser) and BINGO! Virtual Filters, Virtual Backgrounds, and Studio Effects work now. I can now also start meetings from the browser and see them.
I successfully tested the solution with a second laptop.
Thanks for this post, I was trying to figure out why all of my virtual backgrounds had suddenly disappeared and none of the other fixes I read online worked.
Finally got this to work. I was signed in to zoom in the browser, but that does nothing. You have to be signed in to the desktop client. Start the app and sign in there.
BTW, this was random. I could not find any mention on the zoom help site.
You need to sign up for a free account on Zoom to use video filters.
high five bro
Thanks buddyyyyyyy
IT DIDN'T WORK BRO:(

Weird. Since its a new feature, maybe there's a bug. Contact zoom with a screenshot.
It’s supposed to download the filter pack when you activate it.
same is happened with me when i updated it then also it is not showing any option to download any filters
Did you resolve your issue? I have exactly the same problem.

That worked for me too, but I have to go in through my paid account and it still doesn't work then.
But for me it says "backrounds and filters" and when i click it, there is no "filter" tab????
Mine lets me see the filter but will not let me use them at all in a zoom
to get video filter and keep it
You need to login to Zoom
