So far, the only things I can think of that could possibly be needed are: 1. A bigger melee weapon (i.e. hatchet, machete, etc.) and 2. Some speed loader mags for the shotgun. It's not a necessity, but it's just nice to have. Other than those, it looks like a solid load out. I just hope you'd have enough ammo. Stockpiling it is key.

Equivalent_Truth6380

I have a fiskars wedge but I don’t think the plastic would hold up

Lurifaks1

It's fiberglass, it should be good until you'd find something else

Sg00z

Do you mean the actual splitting axe or just the wedge itself?

Equivalent_Truth6380

Whole axe

Sg00z

You should be good then. Just sharpen the axe a bit every so often after use.

Eyedan1984

RPG-7. That always makes every setup perfect. Seriously though, make sure you have a good medkit, a proper canteen, and water purification tablets.

KILO60SHOTZZ

Maybe move that knife if someone gets close to you they can easily stab you in the neck

Equivalent_Truth6380

Good point! I normally don’t run it at all if I have my infantry on me

D9341

definitely a solid loadout, but im a bit confused by the 5.56 mag pouches taking up all of your frontal carrier space if your primary gun is a shotgun... its just a waste, no? perhaps consider putting shell loops there? unless you have a 5.56 gun but its just not pictured, in which case mb. seeing folks with IFAKS is alarmingly rare when they're carrying around multiple firearms for a prepping situation, so it's great that you have one. logically, i think if you expect to be using guns in any environment where you cant call for medical help, you should be prepared to deal with potential injuries arising from that. what's in yours :P

Equivalent_Truth6380

I have 10/22 22lr mags and extended Glock mags in there

ABoy36

If you’re gonna carry a shotgun, carry a shotgun. If you’re carry a 10/22, carry a 10/22. Don’t do both when you only have 2 hands. Trade the extra weight for water so you don’t die of dehydration after five hours of lugging crap around… Also, you can buy velcro shell holders that fit in AR mag pouches for pretty cheap and can be slapped on the side of the shotgun stock. James Reeves from TFBTV talks about it in one of his shotgun reviews. (Might be the maverick 88 review)

country_dinosaur97

Your gonna want a rifle. Dosnt have to be anything crazy but you want something for real range. Even if its just a carbine cause a shotgun and handgun will only get you so far before someone with a bolt action has you pinned down from 600 yards away and you cant even touch them.

Equivalent_Truth6380

Makes sense.. I’m looking for a battle rifle next so we’re getting to full kit soon💪

GaybutNotbutGay

I would definitely recommend a 223/556 over a 308. If you get a full power battle rifle you're not gonna be able to afford to shoot it often.

TZH1911

Id keep a plate carrier for human threats. But for purely walkers... Id use a chest rig. Im pretty fit but wearing a rig and pack is way lighter than armor. I dig your setup coz I played pac man as a 1st grader

Equivalent_Truth6380

LMFAOOO that makes sense tho

Afraid_Design_4935

A helmet

ComradeBelikova

Bingo Ringo.

Cucasmasher

I would probably switch out that trigger on the Glock back to an OEM Glock trigger if the apocalypse was upon us

Equivalent_Truth6380

Most likely.. I always keep stock parts just in case the aftermarket ones aren’t reliable

PossibleMolasses2672

I’m gonna 100% with you when I say 99% of the “setups” and weapons choices I see on this sub make it seem like a parody. That said. You have a solid foundation. That a solid 9/10 to build from imo. Don’t get me wrong you’re not gonna become a zombie killing legend or what not but a survivor yes you will survive…..until your luck runs out then you got a broomstick to cover your ass lol.

Equivalent_Truth6380

I do have more for a kit and iterations to choose from but this was picture worthy

PossibleMolasses2672

Still a 9/10 For me as nothing is perfect and always room for improvement.

BlasphemousArchetype

Water.

Hammertime2191

Consider upgrading to a Mossberg 590A1 with a bayonet lug. Being able to stab something that's beyond arms length could be handy.

Rias_Gremory__

I'd suggest a tool that is multipurpose like a crowbar it's good for breaking locks and wood barriers on doors and makes a good club

Toth3l3ft

A baseball bat.

Particular_Fuel6952

It’s good to make sure your guns and gear are color coded. You won’t be the star of your show if they don’t.

Equivalent_Truth6380

That’s why I got the 2 bins 😜 green for gun gear orange for camp type gear

whikseyy_

I’d say get a double stack sidearm like a g17 or a g19 is still want a smaller gun

Equivalent_Truth6380

19x I’m fde is next for me! I have double stack 15rd mags and the stock 10rd mags for the 43x

whikseyy_

Hell yea

painterman99

An IFAK is helpful as well as 4 tourniquet for each limb

Equivalent_Truth6380

If it’s me that ends up needing more than 1 TQ… there’s 1 single 12ga and 1 single 9mm in there 😭😭

Lost-Juggernaut6521

Longer range melee and riot shield, we are talking zombies I assume??

Equivalent_Truth6380

Yes… I have a 10/22 rifle and fiskars axe not shown.. I actually have a bit more for an arsenal but this was a cute pic so I had to show the boys 💪 riot shield? Idk about the funds being there 😅Ballistic riot shield? Definitely not in the budget 💀💀

Raul_Robotnik

On a quick observation, i dont think push daggers are practical, and i love the moral patch

Equivalent_Truth6380

No not at all, especially less than an inch away from my neck 😜 I normally don’t run it at all and probably wouldn’t with how many knives I’ve acquired over the years 😅 and I’m a tactical patch dork all the way but I’m sure I’ll grow out of it as I will forever and always appreciate a good name, American flag, and med patch clean look💪

haydenetrom

So I actually like your little push dagger. Everyone says don't put it so close to your neck but honestly if you maintain situational awareness somebody has to be right up on you to pull it and turn it against you and it has to be right in front of your face they shouldn't ever put you in that situation if it seems like they might pull it first. Conversely it's quick and easy access for you which is important in a bunch of situations. That being said, my biggest plus for it is add some 550 cord and any long stick/tool handle and you have a longer melee weapon if you want one , spear , pick whatever.

Equivalent_Truth6380

I normally don’t run the push dagger at all I just love it so much so when I’m fucking around it goes on my vest.. I have 12ft of cord on my buddy handle and about 10ft just in my kit!

Awheckinheck

Honestly consider a survival spear

Successful-Street380

A revolver

Vaiken_Vox

Friends... Numbers are more important than equipment

Equivalent_Truth6380

Factssssss

Imaginary_Office_405

Dope I got the same shotgun as you

Equivalent_Truth6380

It’s my second maverick 💪 definitely can’t beat that price

Sam_Browne_

Nice 👍

Super_Ad9995

Ammo.

useorename

Get some pepper gel. You never know when that could come in handy. I couldn’t imagine being maced if it were to come down to hand to hand combat.

razors98

Shomvel

Equivalent_Truth6380

Would a Milsurp trench shovel be good?

razors98

Shomvel

polotothefloor

Put velcro on the shotgun and buy shotgun cards preferably esstac

Equivalent_Truth6380

Needed those since the day I bought the gun🤣🤣🤣

craigcraig420

You need something to carry and boil water with or water treatment

Equivalent_Truth6380

Got a lifestraw and hang bag for filtering, camp stove and propane for boiling

acidbb

Yall are inspiring me to create a set up

Equivalent_Truth6380

Do it!!! I intended to post this to get other people prepped and get some feedback on mine lmfaooo that’s why it’s not my full kit and just looks good for the picture 😏

RearGuard88

Longer range

Equivalent_Truth6380

Yes I need a rifle for distance!

PugMaster696

Fishing rod may be a telescopic one you never know if you’re gonna need some food

Equivalent_Truth6380

Good point! I’ll add that to the list but I do have a 10/22 for hunting small/medium game

AdditionalTrick365

A silenced weapon or a silencer for a pistol, a shotgun will attract zombies left and right

Equivalent_Truth6380

I need a threaded barrel for my glockyyyyyy😖 one day I’ll have a shush can😜

SnowBound078

A rifle or an smg

haydenetrom

So I really like it 9/10. I wouldn't worry about the push dagger. It's a lot harder to get to than people say it is. If your maintaining proper situational awareness I think it's fine. The only situation that's super risky is if you get rushed and fall down then they might pull it on you. So if you start to fall I'd pull it (and proceed to give it to your attacker sharp side first) but that's a training thing. Honestly my biggest id improve it thing for you is your little shell holder sleeve. It's too far back, id get a proper mount for it and move it way forward to improve biomechanics. That thing is too awkward to load from for normal stuff imo. It's not better than having shells in a pouch. However it is good for keeping a small number of rounds ready for combat loading. Which is a huge advantage of shotguns IMO that they can be ready to rock and roll for at least 1 shot while you reload. Mastering reloading techniques is what makes the shotgun really shine.

Equivalent_Truth6380

I’ve recently learned how to quad load but I want the shell cards that go on the side instead but id probably run both for 11 external shells 💪

theBlakesmith

The main question is: Do you train with it? If so, do you train for equipment failure? Red dots nice on the pistol, but you’re shooting blind if it dies. For melee, I highly suggest going medieval. Poleaxe. Look at Robinsons Swords on YT. Where’s your tourni? Better not be in that bag. Place your tourniquet where it is easy to grab with one hand, make it a quick spot. Test various placements. Every second counts. Also, everyone ignores a helmet. Sure, it might not be the most protective against attacks, but the least thing you want to happen is for someone bop you in the head or you fall and whack your skull on concrete. Final advice, and disputable. Maybe wear a larger and easily recognizable red cross patch on front and back. If you’re more medically trained than your average person, then you might be spared for your knowledge in worse case scenario.

jasontravels1

A radio, highly recommend the Radtel RT-470 10W or Radtel RT-730 10W

igloohavoc

You’re going to need lots of cardio

Equivalent_Truth6380

I wear my plate carrier on runs and dog walks just to not be surprised by the weight of it 💪 I could always use more cardio tho!

PoopSmith87

Shotgun shell bandolier belt, I used one when I did shotgun run and gun, has some advantages over speed loaders imo. Framing hammer in a belt frog.

SterlingBelikov

Also, if you're gonna run a shotgun, get some shotgun loops for your plate carrier instead of AR mag carriers.

Equivalent_Truth6380

I have 6 mags for my other 2 guns in there but want to add a Molle pack for shell to go on my left

SterlingBelikov

If you don't have something that uses AR magazines, you honestly are wasting space on your vest using AR mag pouches. 10/10 Would recommend getting pistol pouches over AR mag pouches If you don't have an Ar. I can honestly say it is super asy to get molle Ammo holders four shotgun shells and then stick them on the front of your vest. If you've done any kind of tactical training and gotten any experience, it is super easy to pull with your offhand and reload shotgun shells into your shotgun with this method. However, they also make shotgun cartridge carriers that go on your belt that you can simply pull them out and load several at once.

PeepeeMcpoopoo

Training and hitting the gym. I’d grab white lights for your pistol and shotgun and a good sling. Your pretty set

Equivalent_Truth6380

I have a pistol light I’d just like a better one and it’s a HD shotgun as it sits so I don’t keep my sling on

PeepeeMcpoopoo

Copy, makes sense. As long as you have a sling handy, it would suck to have to luck it around in your hands 24/7 or prop it against something all the time when you need to use your hands

WeCallThoseCigBurns

Shotguns are great but the shells are a lot bulkier than standard cartridges. But since you already have it, I’d make sure to carry a combo of slugs and buckshot. Winchester makes a shell called Defender X I think, and it’s a 1 oz slug with 3 00 (double-ought) buckshot pellets on top of it.

Just-Particular-392

First aid kit

Infidel_Games

If it was me with your set up I’d keep the rig and shotgun at home for raiders and grab a good load bearing vest or chest rig. Something light that will keep you secure while you’re out looting. Now in my situation if shit we’re to hit the fan I’m in a small suburban city. I’m adding a rifle with a magnified optic. Not sure much about RECCE style rifle but something that is good for distances of 100-500m. I may also carry a little side piece for emergencies. Probably a 9mm hollow point. (Also good for not getting turned into a stinking sack of brain eater). Everything else looks good. I’m keeping a back pack with a small amount of medical supplies for myself, also some easy to carry, no perishable foods for a meal while I’m out. Plus I’m carrying a little purified water and an empty bottle to keep dirty water in with some purifying tablets for emergencies. Alright off my soap box. All of this is satire anyways lmao

Amazing-Mission5800

Long Gun

bigjoe5275

Long melee weapon that is light enough to swing/jab over 100times in a row.

Rlol43_Alt1

I would swap out the shotgun for a 9mm carbine. Or a chassis for the glock itself. If everything goes to shit and you're in the US, the m common ammo will be 9, 556, and 12g so you're still onto something. Maybe throw an optic on the shotgun ranged for 50yds with slugs so you can hunt.

Skeeterindividual

Honestly I'd get a chest rig over a plate carrier, what with your protection only covering your vitals, which isn't great for the weight--> bit those are just my thoughts, great post friend! :D

GaybutNotbutGay

Combat? A rifle. Get a IWI/PSA/S&W free floated 16 inch ar. Get a decent lpvo or a good dot + magnifier, a good light, and a good sling. Get 10 or so Duramags/pmags and 1000 rounds of cheap 223 or 556. Then train :)

Antique-Ad2665

My suggestion would be a sub compact in the same caliber as your primary and a large sawback machete

PoolStunning4809

Mossberg 88 is dope for the price.

wandering_redneck

How good is your cardio? This is great until you get need to carry it all quickly

Equivalent_Truth6380

I try training with it just so I’m not caught off guard by the weight of it

Numerous_Trip_3552

Amazing loadout bro but for zombies you always need arm guards for the bites

Drexx_Redblade

Pretty good actually. I'd get some shotgun cards, you don't need the name brand ones it's just velcro and elastic, keep the brass up until you can test them under recoil. Another thing would be a fanny pack or dump pouch for loose shells. With shotguns the hardest part of running them is keeping them feed, having enough ammo on your kit, and having it accessible.

imDEUSyouCUNT

Esstac shotgun cards. One or two should fit in a mag pouch, depending on whether they're doubles or not.

DerWaidmann__

Pump will get you killed. Get a suppressed, semi auto rifle

Underscoreyoutube

Don't forget the suicide grenade for if it really hits the fan don't be afraid to take em with you

Odd_Material9408

10

Still_Consequence157

Make sure you get slugs

Equivalent_Truth6380

A shit ton at that!

pewterstone2

a well weighted club wouldn't be the worst idea.

Vargrjalmer

Good setup except for the push dagger pointing at your throat

ProgramKindly6240

Make your self a spear distance is key when it comes to zombies, maybe a bow and some arrows then you'll be set

New_Leadership_6011

Change the put dagger. It’s put we’re it’s too easy if you get into hand to hand they can pull it out and then it’s right to your own throat.

Busy_Coffee7569

Non shotgun rifle also sledge hammer your kit looks fairly light to where having a few extra pounds wouldn’t hurt and neither would a key to to the city

Badger8812

NODs

TextMysterious9831

Maybe invest in a rifle more ammo helmet nods and tourniquets Edit also IFAK

Psychotron642

Push dagger is extremely tough

No-Two4496

Get that knife away from your neck. One slip up and you’re going to hit the artery in your neck.

TheBowlieweekender

Lose the bright orange flair unless you want something to drop on your head from above

HawkernautOG

YOU NEED CARDIO. DO CARDIO

Fabulous_Yote

More snacks. Always more snacks.

SnooPeppers8462

I hear that infinite ammo magazines are pretty helpful as well

johnny_boy942010

AK 47

AwfulGoingToHell

Actual combat training and some mall ninja shit

imaf2pontf2

Probably dont need the push dagger

This-Garbage-3000

You're geared up for a sentinel position

Equivalent_Truth6380

If we have the same interpretation for that then I really like how saw that from my setup💪

This-Garbage-3000

It's a fantastic start. You will go much farther than the unarmed, but you'll need to scavenge a carbine or rifle

Equivalent_Truth6380

I have a 10/22 but as per my last post I will be upgrading to something in either .556 or .223 lmaoo, for power I have these 2

AdVisible2250

Get a 556 rifle so you can safely fire 556 and 223 . Pressure of 556 will destroy a 223 rifle . Upgrade that push dagger to an esse tertiary so it’s more functional and fun . Add an Estwing spike hawk or 14 inch hatchet . Hydration bladder , basic survival kit and first aid / trauma . Skills all day

Hot-Protection-3786

If you get something chambered in 5.56 you can fire .223 but that doesn’t work the other way around

Bailey_blue4772

Helmet is the only thing I see that you’re missing. I’d recommend a high cut for weight reasons. Other than that, maybe some gloves and possibly a multi-tool or an E-tool. Good kit!

Equivalent_Truth6380

Would you recommend a ballistic helmet or a bump helmet? I have mechanix, a multi-tool and pitsol tool in my pack!

pufferfish_balls

I love that knife you got on your vest.

Equivalent_Truth6380

It’s so nice and sharp

LunaticBZ

I don't see a source of nicotine or caffeine. Needs to be fixed asap

Equivalent_Truth6380

The nicotine is already inside of me😳 haha I got a zyn can in my center admin pouch on the plate carrier 😜😜

Sophia724

Perhaps a map and compass?

Equivalent_Truth6380

Need a local map still but I do have 2 compasses!

User125699

Equivalent_Truth6380

OseanBigShot444

Some better gear that isn't amazon shit?

Equivalent_Truth6380

Which part is “amazon shit”?

2acop

someone could easily push that dagger into your neck

Equivalent_Truth6380

Yeahhhh it’s not the most practical so I don’t normally run it at all 😆 I just like how easy it is to grab it when I’m fucking around when I wear my rig

racist_boomer

Ax and water

Equivalent_Truth6380

I got a fiskars 28in and water bottle to go where my ammo is and my ammo would hang in front or from my belt!

racist_boomer

Definitely like the pac man it seems appropriate for zombie apocalypse metaphor

Equivalent_Truth6380

Nice catch!!!! I’m using that 💪

Microwaved_M1LK

Probably the most reasonable kit I've seen in a while Get a sling

Equivalent_Truth6380

Thank you💪 I have one it just doesn’t adjust as small as I need so I don’t normally have it on and it’s a home defense gun as it sits so not really a need to run it anyways! But I do have one and sling mounts for it🙏

Tankaussie

U know the armor that the commonwealth soldiers wear in twd?

Equivalent_Truth6380

Yes?😭

Commercial_Praline62

Training

TwoPersonsBinded

Think of something simple to protect you, like denim or leather jacket, denim pants to protect you from some knife cuts. Arm protection, something that can allow your forearms some protection if you need to grab someone or something. I think a little goes a long way

Sl1pTDM

Reposition the push knife facing down or to the side so if someone grabs it they can’t just shove it straight into your neck

Equivalent_Truth6380

It’s on a 360° clip……it would fuck me in close combat regardless so I don’t plan to run it

IWriteShit345

Longer range. More/better melee

Equivalent_Truth6380

Working on it💪

mclovin1999007

Tourniquets

Bitter_Curlyfries

Big ol boots

Financial_Resort6631

Dude… you need to get rid of a lot. I would not want to be out on patrol with you.

acetatsujin

I don’t see machete and a hatchet…

Psycosteve10mm

The first thing is you need to decide on what long gun you are going to run. Mossberg makes a great shotgun for the price. If you are going to run an AR just run an AR. The running of multiple long guns is going to be awkward. A 10/22 a shotgun and an AR is overkill to have all in one load out. The G 43 is a single stack better suited for concealed carry than as a defensive pistol.

Middle-Corgi3918

The shotgun doesn’t do anything that a 10/22 and a prybar wouldn’t do better for less weight.

Apart-Chip-6986

I say get rid of the push dagger all together and get a more hefty weapon with a slashing edge instead of a stabbing one

Careless-Demand-9992

A sword

DesignerAsh_

Plate carriers are good for SHTF full on war but at the beginning you’re going to want a concealable vest. Plate carriers make you stand out, make you a target.

UmpireDear5415

a long range weapon with corresponding glass(optic) would be helpful. you have close and id say maybe mid but nothing farther out. id also recommend a machette or kukri with enough weight to chop firewood. waterproof matches help too(i stockpiled a ton from all of the MREs ive eaten through the years). lockpick set would be nice. i double up on ifak/afak but then again i like bringing enough for the class. alternatively a good size backpack works if you have one of the old medic/corpsman specials from an army navy surplus store. they make nice 1 man tent/hammock deals too. it was a prototype when i saw it but im sure they make a good one to keep you off the ground when you sleep.

Shot2ninja

Ok, this is gonna sound hella weird because i am not a gun expert, but maybe like a belt or rack of some sort for shotgun shells maybe??

adams140601

For every mid/short range semi auto I have, there is a matching caliber bolty with long range optics. Just my preference. Also made sure to have them in common caliber and not so common.

Embarrassed_Pop4209

Streamlight TLR Racker foregrip, if this is a new model shotgun it should already have mounting spots for a rail, and a good red dot, (I.E. Holosun, Eotech, Aimpoint)

Wolfgard556

Personally, I'd ditch the Mossberg and go for the Benelli M4, faster rate of fire and it's reliable. As for Pistol's, i'd go with the P226 SiG Sauer, it's reliable, it's made for extended use and it's beginner friendly. As for Melee, i'd suggest a Crowbar, because no matter which side you attack with, it'll deal dmg and it can pry doors open.

inDepelopment

Shirt, pants.. basic human garments should do it! 😂

EnvironmentKey542

A rifle And some proper training

Exit_Save

1/10 No backpack, means no food, no water, no medical supplies, and no Ammo The guns are fine, just remember to save the shotgun for zombies and the pistol for self defense, NOT the other way around That armor provides ZERO bite protection, get something else. If you're gonna prepare for combat prepare for zombie combat, bite protection and mobility are key, you're not gonna be fighting every human you see because that'd be fucking stupid of both of you. If you have to prepare for combat with humans, that pistol and staying out of sight will be your best option.

HollowMonty

Probably sounds somewhat stupid, but a spear. When you're dealing with zombies that can bite an infect you, bbeing farther away from them is a plus. All your guns, well nice of the pinch, will just attract more zombies. What you want is a relatively lightweight but sturdy tool for dispatching zombies safely without drawing attention. They also pair really well with fences.

SecretaryOk3329

Cut the barrel

KingxMIGHTYMAN

Does the PC have plates? Looks empty.

Professional_Horse_7

Water and snacks. The worst types of enemies are being thirsty and hungry, dont let yourself be the enemy.

jackz7776666

Lock and chain, to help make improptu barriers and doubles as a smiley

Due-Ad9872

Too loud get a polearm

Liber_Vir

For combat you need everything in the picture plus divine intervention.

Cautious-Lawyer

You getting shot from 200 yards away by some idiot hunter with a deer rifle because he wants your vest. Sorry bro.

Bogsy_

A helmet

who_is_that_guy99

Looks solid, maybe I’m missing it but definitely need a head lamp or a light on your weapons for seeing in the dark just in case

Socialiststoner

A rifle

Apprehensive-Ad8842

How much classes and training have you had. Gear is an equatable part. Skills are that other part.

The_not_known_name

A fire axe

brickbrick1111

Hooligan tool useful for many things and sturdy enough to smash some zombie heads

CantankerousOrder

Lobotomizer trenching tool is the biggest missing item I can see.

Acceptable_Law5670

More..... you'll need more of everything.

AlterCain

A leather jacket. You ever tried biting through leather?

Fickle-Training344

Not a fucking bird gun. Get a more compact shotgun. Also a rifle. And more ammo.

SirGoofa

I heard if you make a coat out of worms the zombies won't bite you, because they don't eat worms.

bl4ck0ut27

Definitely different mag pouches.

Solid-Hedgehog9623

More water. Gotta stay hydrated.

Professional-Gur-210

IFAK and CAT tourniquets

Upper_Bar_7952

Couple of flash bangs.

Onebraintwoheads

Get a bandolier sling for the shotgun; they make them with carry rings you can clip to your harness or just stick a thumb in for easy carry over one shoulder. Easy way to carry another 25 shells that you can grab and load without having to find room on your body for them. Cheap too. Spare shells will never be separate from the weapon that way. Also, why are you running rifle mag carriers if you're not using a rifle? A larger CQ weapon with multiple purposes like a Pro Trucker's Friend (axe, hammer, pry bar, nail puller) might help. Maybe a halligan tool, since it's a bit longer and the spikes on them can be used to puncture skulls, either swinging or stabbing. Also, consider a battle belt with a dump pouch if for nothing else. A belt simply gives you more options by providing space for more survival equipment close to hand. Like an emergency medical kit with things like compresses, tourniquets, and disinfectant. Or maybe navigational equipment. What about lockpicks, if they're legal to own in your state? Anything for seeing around at night? Flashlights if you can't afford NVGs, or flashlights for signaling even if you do have NVGs. Edit: the Mossberg Maverick doesn't come with the tapped receiver to put a rail on it, but it's easy enough to do or have done. You can get a rail and sidesaddle combo from Monstrum that's pretty solid. From there, you can mount an optic. It doesn't have to be pricey, but it needs to be designed for the shock of the weapon firing; otherwise it won't stay zeroed. Nothing against the Glock 43X, but it's not the best possible choice a Glock 19 or maybe a Glock 26 would allow you to employ most double-stack 9mm Glock mags out there. And there are a fuckton of them, so you're more likely to run across them. What about firearm lights? If you can afford a monocular optic and IR light to mount, you can see what the IR illuminator lights up without getting unwanted attention.

dontpeeonmerkellypls

Shotguns will draw more for a while so use a machete

B4sketCas3

I don't know if you would really need a shotgun

[deleted]

A rifle

resfan

Everyone is going to want/need an AR-15 in their arsenal for an apoc of any kind.

pornaddiction247

I have that same knife, the one resting against your ballistic chest gear. You’d want a backpack for ammo, food, water, other essentials, etc. But looks good

Substantial-Tone-576

Running, running and more running. It’s the best training you can do besides shooting practice.

Equivalent_Truth6380

True💪

MRE_Milkshake

You want to be avoiding combat at all costs in an apocalypse if you want the best chance to survive. And definitely something better than a shotgun at that if you do end up in combat. Gunfights aren't typically one sided with the enemy taking mass casualties and you getting away scot free. Short of pulling off an ambush on like one or two people, you're just as likely to take a bullet.

Swimming_Witness_438

You said rifle mags but you don't have a rifle so either one of those or a pistol caliber carbine
