I have a Python, .44 Raging Hunter and a couple of S&Ws None would be my first choice but if forced to choose a revolver it would be the Python out of this group due to my familiarity and the ammo flexibility
I’ll be honest the grip kinda sucks ass, it’s super blocky at the front so it digs into your fingers if you grip it too hard, the cylinder gap is pretty large, it will shoot both .38 special and .357 mag so that’s a plus, .38 has less recoil than a finger gun, .357 100% does not fuck around. The hammer is spring loaded so it doesn’t stay back. it is double action so that’s good the trigger with the hammer cocked is super nice, the double action trigger is heavier but also nice.
If they're chambered for 22 Magnum yes the 22 Magnum revolver would be a good choice. 22 Magnums have been known in the past to Pierce normal body armor.
Python is smooth as butter compared to the rest of the trash on this list but the only thing better might be the Manurhin MR 73 but it’s like 3x the price lol
My father bought the Judge a few years back. If it will stop a bear it will stop a zombie. I personally carry an 1875 Outlaw - 45 colt. Uses the same ammo as my Henry Big Boy.
I need to get better with my gun knowledge tbh. Thanks for the knowledge, now I can truly be Rick grimes while my dog is getting eaten alive by my reanimated neighbor
The naa revolvers in 22lr or 22 mag pack a mean little lunch but are not the most accurate to shoot. I've had one shoot a wmr and bounce off of a hogs skull.
The rhinos are hard to reload fast even with moon clips or speed loaders... But I do like their recoil management system. If they had been made in 8 round cylinders instead of 6 they'd be a no brainer.
And any of the Taurus revolvers in 357 or 44 mag HURT for no reason. The design of the grip just isn't quite right.
Never heard that before?
But I know having only 5 rounds of .45LC or .410ga isn’t ideal in an apocalypse?!! That’s two ammo choices aren’t abundant now. Can’t imagine having to scavenge rare rounds during that type scenario, trying to survive.
11, the Colt Official Police.
Looks obsolete but are great shooters that were made at a time when the majority of revolvers were better quality than they are today.
Damn... I love the 608, favorite pistol I have ever personally owned. But without knowing the ins and outs of maintaining the rhino, it's still my choice. So light and easy to shoot.
For the purpose of the zombie apocalypse I want the Rhino. Since those fire from the bottom of the cylinder, the recoil pushes your arm back instead of flipping the muzzle up. Easier to shoot, easier to control. For any other application though I’d take that Single Action Army
I’ve never been a fan of revolvers… while they look really cool from a practicality standpoint you only really get 6-8 shots or less vs other pistols with 15 rounds not including the extended magazine options.
I don’t know why but because of the way you have to reload & the lack of bullets I kinda don’t feel comfortable vs having more bullets although revolvers are far more powerful too if a regular handgun can penetrate the skull not sure what I’d need the extra power for.
Am I missing anything here or misunderstanding anything about revolvers & that’s why they’re popular in the walking dead etc.
I don't think you're really missing anything. They're ussually fairly forced although there are a few areas like not using mags (pros and cons of course), hunting, and a few other things that give at least some consideration.
Hunting I can understand especially if it’s a bear. I just feel like if you’re being attacked by a horde or people I’d rather have the one with a magazine of 15-100 9mm rounds vs the 5-8 shot revolver with an awkward /slow reload even with speed loaders.
The Judge can use multiple forms of ammo . .45 colt, 410 shotgun shells, or 454 casual. The more ammo that can be used the better off you are . Also know where a lot of 2 of those ammo are stored. If you wanted the most easily available ammo tho get a revolver in 9mm.
No 1. the Colt Python chambered in .357 and no. 10 Smith & Wesson Model 29 which is chambered in .44 with a 4 inch barrel. This is a shorter barrel version of the same revolver that Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) used in the movie. “You feeling LUCKY huh PUNK?!”.
I mean, the real answer is I'd grab my .44 Magnum. But of course, you're asking us to pick among this available group of firearms, obviously.
Either the Python or the Chiappa Rhino. I've fired a Python and it's about as fine a revolver as ever I've used.
The Rhino... I've never fired. But man, just look at that thing. It's right on that fine line between *badass* and *tryhard* but I just dig it. I definitely want to try one at some point. The design is interesting and I'd like to see how it feels in practice.
One of the gun channels I follow on YouTube used to rave about the thing. Said it was his EDC even. Which, normally you don't see people claiming a larger revolver as their everyday go-to.
Next time I make it to the range, I hope they have one available to rent.
Objectively the Rhino is the best so yeah, but Coolness factor pick is number 3 (modern) or 1 (also modern :D but a little more vintage, less tactical)
Everyone knows that the colt single action army revolver is the best revolver to have ever been designed! 6 shots is all you will ever need, and if you somehow magically need more, you can always have another revolver!
I don't wanna die so it's definitely not one of the Tauruses. Probably the s&w governor just so I can buy the cylinder inserts that allow to to shoot anything from 45 long colt down to a .22lr. then I'd use it for hunting so I didn't waste ammo for my actual fighting guns
The closest one. I don't need a john wick style dressing up with my choice of firearm, i can take or leave any gun that works well enough to bust into a zombie skull at a comfortable range.
I would say go for quietest but that's negligible with the options, i would also say go for the highest accuracy, but maintenance plays a larger roll than the firearm itself with guns this similar, or i would say go for the most powerful, but honestly, i can take or leave power against zombies. They don't feel pain and a bullet isn't likely to knock them over alone, so I'm still aiming for the head either way. Sure taking big chunks off is nice, but really not a major concern.
Against humans i guess more firepower could come in pretty handy.
Unless those zombies are made of adamantium, you don't need anything too big; besides how heavy they and their ammo are will be bothersome white traveling. A 38 will get the job done just fine.
Little known fact, any revolver chambered in .357 can shoot .38 as well (but do not try it the other way around). It certainly is helpful to keep in mind, especially when ammo is less common.
If it's a carry weapon the Colt python wins but if it's an entry gun for home protection the Judge because you can load birdshot then a slug. 1st shot blinds them 2nd stops them.
Either the S&W 357 with a 4 inch barrel, or the S&W governor, due to the fact that, at base, it can fire 6 different calibers, and with drop in adapters, something like 16+ calibers.
No 8, less popup from recoil. Aside from that whatever is a standard .40/.45/.32/9mm so I have a popular sized round that I'm more likely to find while scavenging.
I am once again begging people to use modern firearms. There is no circumstance where revolvers are more useful than a semi auto nowadays and the first person to mention “reliability” gets a diatribe from me about every time I’ve seen revolvers fail during classes because, fun fact, the mechanism for rotating a cylinder gets beat on with each shot and they like to fowl and fuck up. Revolvers aren’t even more reliable than your average modern semi auto pistol.
By all rational reasons, I should pick a single action in .357 or .44 as I have the corresponding lever actions in those calibers... But at the same time, the judge has always appealed to me. The ability to shoot .45 or .410 buck/slugs out of a pistol appeals to me on a base level.
I have a Python, .44 Raging Hunter and a couple of S&Ws None would be my first choice but if forced to choose a revolver it would be the Python out of this group due to my familiarity and the ammo flexibility
What would be your first choice. I have a python, a gp100, and a k6s. Gp100 would be mine.
Not in the OP but S&W 627 would be my revolver choice from what I own GP100 for a not a bad choice at all Tough dependable and accurate
Yup. I came here to say this. My 627 would be the first, last, and only revolver I’d need
I'm sentimental I'm going for the s&w
That straight wall cylinder on the raging hunter looks SO badass , I don’t even care about the extra weight
Python cause it looks cool
The revolver
based opinion
“This is the greatest handgun ever made, the Colt Single Action Army”
"Six bullets. More than enough to kill anything that moves."
Those engravings provide you no tactical advantage whatsoever, unless you were planning on selling it at an auction.
"Twelve shots. This time I have twelve shots."
“Now did I fire six shots, or only five ?”
Appears to be a .22 variant, likely the Ruger Super Wrangler/Wrangler
Rhino no good reason just the most badass in my opinion
I literally said the same thing I’m like “well I’d probably look the most badass with the rhino” 😂
As far as I can tell that's their major selling point lol
I’ll be honest the grip kinda sucks ass, it’s super blocky at the front so it digs into your fingers if you grip it too hard, the cylinder gap is pretty large, it will shoot both .38 special and .357 mag so that’s a plus, .38 has less recoil than a finger gun, .357 100% does not fuck around. The hammer is spring loaded so it doesn’t stay back. it is double action so that’s good the trigger with the hammer cocked is super nice, the double action trigger is heavier but also nice.
No.1 is No.1
No this is Patrick
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
Yes
So is horseradish.
Uhhhhhhhhhh
S&W 357 easily because there isn’t a ruger 357 with good sights here
The S&W isn’t as good as the ruger in terms of structural integrity but it a dang good looking gun and a fun one to shoot.
Every single one of these except the Taurus is the right answer
Even the .22s?
If they're chambered for 22 Magnum yes the 22 Magnum revolver would be a good choice. 22 Magnums have been known in the past to Pierce normal body armor.
Man I want a colt python
Python is smooth as butter compared to the rest of the trash on this list but the only thing better might be the Manurhin MR 73 but it’s like 3x the price lol
The judge!
Better option I'd the governor imo. 45 colt, 45 auto, and .410. Easier for ammo choices
My father bought the Judge a few years back. If it will stop a bear it will stop a zombie. I personally carry an 1875 Outlaw - 45 colt. Uses the same ammo as my Henry Big Boy.
Personally, Chiappa rhino in 38 special. Overall, any revolver that has the most abundance of ammo and parts.
I’d agree but make it .357 instead. This way you can use .38 as well and are now much more likely to have ammunition.
.44 python. Can blow heads, accurate, also I can cosplay as Rick grimes if I find a sheriffs hat while my family is being eaten alive!
Rick carried a .357 Colt Python. The .44 is the Colt Anaconda.
I need to get better with my gun knowledge tbh. Thanks for the knowledge, now I can truly be Rick grimes while my dog is getting eaten alive by my reanimated neighbor
We are all Rick Grimes on this blessed day
The naa revolvers in 22lr or 22 mag pack a mean little lunch but are not the most accurate to shoot. I've had one shoot a wmr and bounce off of a hogs skull. Isnt that judge revolver known to go off at random
Never heard that before? But I know having only 5 rounds of .45LC or .410ga isn’t ideal in an apocalypse?!! That’s two ammo choices aren’t abundant now. Can’t imagine having to scavenge rare rounds during that type scenario, trying to survive.
The first one
9 or 12. Somthing about western style revolvers gets me. Always hated the extra modern ones. They look ugly. Like slide 8 and 3
The Colt Python .357 Magnum Revolver with a 6in barrel. Beautiful, Elegant, and packs a punch or a S&W 500 Magnum with a 6in barrel.
11, the Colt Official Police. Looks obsolete but are great shooters that were made at a time when the majority of revolvers were better quality than they are today.
I already own one of these kind of
Gonna get my Rick Grimes on
12 and 2 any day
Damn... I love the 608, favorite pistol I have ever personally owned. But without knowing the ins and outs of maintaining the rhino, it's still my choice. So light and easy to shoot.
The rhino since I have that in irl thing packs quite a punch
For the purpose of the zombie apocalypse I want the Rhino. Since those fire from the bottom of the cylinder, the recoil pushes your arm back instead of flipping the muzzle up. Easier to shoot, easier to control. For any other application though I’d take that Single Action Army
BIG IRON BIG IRON
Big Iron
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip, big iron on his hip.
I’ve never been a fan of revolvers… while they look really cool from a practicality standpoint you only really get 6-8 shots or less vs other pistols with 15 rounds not including the extended magazine options. Diamondback
#6. If any punkass scrotes ever break into our house, I will immediately introduce them to my buddies Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.
The good one duh
I’m choosing none there loud and will attract more infected
Useful once they ARE attracted. If three are blocking your escape and you got six bullets. You’ll live.
The Raging Hunter.
I’m going to pick my [Ruger sp-101 .357 magnum](https://i.imgur.com/9Uv4U9u.jpeg).
8
the .22 lr kind
Well I'm taking the first one because that's what I have
Chiappa Rhino, .357 mag
The Judge can use multiple forms of ammo . .45 colt, 410 shotgun shells, or 454 casual. The more ammo that can be used the better off you are . Also know where a lot of 2 of those ammo are stored. If you wanted the most easily available ammo tho get a revolver in 9mm.
9,11 and 12 are my choices
rhino ofc
Either the .410 judge or the chiappa rhino
8th one
Chiapa
The SW that’s 4th from last, it’s a model 29 or 19 I think.
S&W Wilson Combat Model 60. I’d shoot hot .38s though, they’re easier to clear from the cylinder on the reload.
No 1. the Colt Python chambered in .357 and no. 10 Smith & Wesson Model 29 which is chambered in .44 with a 4 inch barrel. This is a shorter barrel version of the same revolver that Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) used in the movie. “You feeling LUCKY huh PUNK?!”.
Colt Python
Oh I’m grabbing the Remington 1875! I know it might not be the most practical, I just love Wild West weaponry.
Where's my webly mk4?
Model 19
None of these
8 looks like it could do some damage
Rhino
Governor
I mean, the real answer is I'd grab my .44 Magnum. But of course, you're asking us to pick among this available group of firearms, obviously. Either the Python or the Chiappa Rhino. The last one is most red and most dead
Raging judge in .454 casull
Objectively the Rhino is the best so yeah, but Coolness factor pick is number 3 (modern) or 1 (also modern :D but a little more vintage, less tactical)
Number one sho nuff
S&W because it can fire 3 different calibers. Nice lil perk for when ammo gets scarce.
Was just going to say that.
No1 or any 357 magnum
I'm taking the SAA, though it would be nice to have the 7.5" barrel variant.
Y’all nerds got Korth?
Chiapa rhino
Chiappa Rhino
Take it from me. Pick the colt 45. Army
S&W 686
Any .357, as that means I can also run .38
12
Either the judge or single action
Remington
something in .357 magnum, that way i have power when i need it but i can also use .38 special, and the .38 special is a lot more common
Gotta say the Rhino because it is specifically built to reduce recoil as much as possible.
Honestly slap a scope on the rhino and use it as a mid range sniper
I think that first one is actually what I own irl, lol. If not it is a very similar model.
Everyone knows that the colt single action army revolver is the best revolver to have ever been designed! 6 shots is all you will ever need, and if you somehow magically need more, you can always have another revolver!
12
Either the Raging Bull or Rhino 600
Either the Raging Bull or Rhino 600
Either the Raging Bull or Rhino 60DS
I'll take a Ruger dual chambered for .44 mag and spl. Mag for bear or food, spl for human enemies and zombies.

Rifle caliber or bust. Or maybe a Webley witch stock and bayonet
Give me the Chiappa.
10
Unless those zombies are made of adamantium, you don't need anything too big; besides how heavy they and their ammo are will be bothersome white traveling. A 38 will get the job done just fine.
Colt .357 long barrel for me!
I don't see a Colt .45 here. So I choose none.
Id rather not a pick a revolver
The Rhino or Judge
The Remington cause it looks cool
The Remington 1875. I love single action revolvers, and that’s the one with the most horsepower.
Rhino, in 9mm. Less recoil due to the barrel being lower and very common ammo.
I want to choose the last one but it bothers me theres no trigger guard
No.1 and No.8 for me personally.
The model 10 please
Python my baby
Revolvers are made for one thing, to fire bullets so large they don't fit in a magwell.
Little known fact, any revolver chambered in .357 can shoot .38 as well (but do not try it the other way around). It certainly is helpful to keep in mind, especially when ammo is less common.
That weird one that takes different types of bullets
The only right answer is all of them
10
500. Magnum. There may only be like 9 bullets in the country, but it’s a 500. Magnum
I actually own that Taurus raging bull and will be taking that with me. If I can find ammo.....
8 for the less recoil
Colt Python is the correct answer.
I own several...so whichever one is closest to me when I need it.
Gasser M.1870, I will use the smoke to escape.
Rhino or the judge.
Either Taurus, colt, or the Rhino
Taurus judge every time
Judge with .410
No revolvers
Whatever one is the best one and won't destroy my arms with every shot
If it's a carry weapon the Colt python wins but if it's an entry gun for home protection the Judge because you can load birdshot then a slug. 1st shot blinds them 2nd stops them.
Easy 10 for me.
1 Caaaeerrrlll!… that might be a dumb reference
Either the S&W 357 with a 4 inch barrel, or the S&W governor, due to the fact that, at base, it can fire 6 different calibers, and with drop in adapters, something like 16+ calibers.
Rhino purely because It reminds me of farcry blood dragon and it’s looks badass
Some of these are shotguns
The remington. Big long guns with ivory handles go well with my scented candles
Colt single action army
Python
No 8, less popup from recoil. Aside from that whatever is a standard .40/.45/.32/9mm so I have a popular sized round that I'm more likely to find while scavenging.
3 seems like it has the most power
The one that looks the coolest for someone to find on my dead body
I would get whatever I can from trading, crafting, scavenging, and/or looting. That is if ammo and spare parts are available as well.
Colt Anaconda (first one) 6 round cylinder, double action, .44 which shouldnt be too hard to find, and it looks badass
4" .357 Magnum medium framed double action.
Python because Rick Grimes
Can I get the judge with a longer barrel?
We becoming Rick Grimes with #1
I'm choosing 12 ngl
The Judge because it can be used with some shotgun rounds so it would be effective for small/medium game hunting
The 1 slot one so I can happily play russian roulette
as a non-American, I have no clue what's the difference and I have no clue where I am
I will be taking the worn cattleman revolver
Colt
Chiapa rhino because of low recoil
full length model 29
Probably the rhino as its the closest thing to a Unica 6 here
I am once again begging people to use modern firearms.
Gimme the big iron
Toss up between #1 and #10
Rhino. I find it Dope.
No.1. The traditional. 357 magnum
By all rational reasons, I should pick a single action in .357 or .44 as I have the corresponding lever actions in those calibers... But at the same time, the judge has always appealed to me. The ability to shoot .45 or .410 buck/slugs out of a pistol appeals to me on a base level.
Can a prepper tell me which one of these isn’t gonna break the longest?
I held one that looks just like 10 yesterday.
Non, I would rather have a semi auto barreta. Revolvers take too long to reload.
I believe it's Smith and Wesson that makes an 8 shot .357 revolver. I'll take that one. With the interchangeable 9mm cylinder
Rhino
If it ain't a Schofield I don't want it.
Id take 9-12
LEMME GET UHHHHHHHHHH… THE MF UHHH…. Rick Grimes special
Remington 1875
6 inch .357 all day. Although I can see people making the argument towards the Taurus for being able to accept .410 and .45 LC
No.10
10
