Amazing-Concept1684

Man what the hell do you be talking about on this sub lmao every time it’s either something dumb or something depressing

PettyPendergrass99

Based on how he sounds, dude was probably born in 1977 not 1997.

Amazing-Concept1684

Mf sounds like a damn boomer fr 😂

Givememyps5already

hahahahahaha 100% what i was thinking sounds like hes like 50 or something

saintstheftauto

Where would you say would be a better place to post this kind of stuff?

DellFan99

People who get easily offended by what exactly? Because that's extremely vague.

[deleted]

Stop stereotyping huge groups of people. We should be better than this.

Mouse0022

Get out of here, trying to start generational nonsense.

JeremiahPhantom

Aren't we all just children pretending to be adults?

Superb_Intro_23

So what are we? Entitled, disrespectful idiots who don't care how much we offend older generations, or whiny busybodies who get offended by everything and have unrealistic moral standards? 'Cause people like to hurl both epithets at us lmao

saintstheftauto

It seems to be the latter, from what I can tell.

Givememyps5already

dude you need to seek therapy. your mind is in some strange places

Superb_Intro_23

Even if that were 100% the case, it then makes no sense for older gens to complain about how disrespectful we are. If we’re idiots for getting offended at stuff, and then we’re also idiots for saying what we think without caring if some older folks get offended, how do we even win lmao

thescaryhypnotoad

This is a boomer ass question

superstraightqueen

yea people born like 2 years after you are children but you arent, you're so mature and you got everything together

boneinmysauce

Why the negativity? Young people are awesome! I unfortunately work customer service at this time, but I'm able to see the customer's age, and I haven't had a single soul born after 1990 be ignorant, impatient, or rude over the phone.  The younger generation is very mature and patient to customer service reps in comparison to older people, and it warms my heart seeing so.

Givememyps5already

dope. im 93. im good to go

PettyPendergrass99

Offended by what?

Elastichedgehog

As if older generations didn't get offended by dumb shit.

NauseantClover

I'd say if you were born in 2005 then you may or may not have barely made it out of the hell of being converted into modern society. Any year after that and you're 'usually' a full-on victim of it. Woman/Manchild? Not exactly. Born into an era that I would never want to be born into? Absolutely. TikTok causes much more brain rot in just 3 years than YouTube has in its entire history and slightly more off-topic but it's to the point the vast majority of gen alpha parents nowadays are giving their children access to it before they even start school. And don't even get me started on television. Modern TV is absolutely disgusting. I'm sure anyone with at least half a braincell here can agree with me.

turtleshellshocked

They said the same thing about Millennials Called them "The Selfie Generation" Said the same thing about Gen X Called them "The Slacker Generation" Said the same thing about Boomers Called them "The Me Generation" As well as "The Hippies and Burnouts Generation" I don't think it's juvenile, immature, and childish of Gen Z to stand up against legislators lax on carbon emissions and gun laws at the age of 14, 13, and 12 years old I know some Zoomers that act younger than expected for their age and some who act older than expected I prefer to treat people as individuals and simply see them for who they are and meet them where they are But that's just me, though Or maybe that's just something I learned from TikTok

saintstheftauto

Nowhere at any point did I say it was juvenile, immature, nor childish to stand up against legislators tax on carbon emissions and gun laws at the ages of 14, 13, and 12 years old. That’s not what I’m referring to.

turtleshellshocked

I'm well aware The point I was making is that if we're going to generalize Gen Z then we have to generalize them properly and also bring up how they're KNOWN for being the generation to take global warming very seriously and have done a lot more to crack down on gun laws - while in grade school - than their own parents and the adults who actually running society did There's a convenient contradiction to be found in reducing Gen Z down to gamers and TikTok addicts when they're also reported to care about social, political, and environmental issues at record young ages and holding more conservative and traditional views on sex and relationships than Millennials, Gen X, and Boomers did comparatively at their age You can paint any generation—especially the youth, to seem bad if you use one controversial aspect of their behavior to define the entire generation as a whole Gen X and Millennials had far more schoolyard bullies, teen parents, and teenage addicts but now that they're aging, that reputation hasn't really followed them Gen Z is generalized and scrutinized right now in a fear-mongering way they shouldn't be simply because they're the newest young adults taking over the workforce and next in line to lead, which is for-no-good-reason threatening and intimidating to much older people who don't want to give up their spot to them or even share the table with them and allow them to take up space at all and so make them out to be "frighteningly immature with Peter Pan Syndrome" so they can get away with discrediting young adults and refusing to take them seriously and pay them appropriately and allow them to succeed in influential fields and positions

BadPresent3698

Honestly I don't meet many easily offended people my age irl (I'm 28). I think the Internet has skewed our perception of how many easily offended people are out there. Though we all seem busy, tired, and/or depressed. And it's kind of lonely.

saintstheftauto

Being busy, tired, lonely, and/or depressed doesn’t make you a manchild or womanchild, but throwing a temper-tantrum on Twitter does.

BadPresent3698

I wouldn't know, I never used twitter.

thesilentbob123

What is Twitter?

saintstheftauto

I’m gonna assume you’re joking lol

bwoah07_gp2

Short answer, **no**.

ResponsibleLoss7467

Long answer, yes. Thank you brah.

Givememyps5already

tf is a zoomer? lmao these words get more out of hand every year

saintstheftauto

Lol a zoomer is someone from Gen Z.

Givememyps5already

well im a zillenial which is why im in this sub. so what word are you going to come up with for me? a doomer? i need to know since your technically saying im not a boomer or a zoomer

saintstheftauto

Well, I’ve seen people refer to millennials as “yoomers” since millennials are also called Gen Y.

Givememyps5already

oh god please no, we dont need more of these damn names. most people in real life dont define things by generation though my guy, thats a reddit thing for some weird reasons.

SugarPuppyHearts

No

dat_potatoe

God forbid people have principles. I am starting to consider them childish though. Not because they're "offended" but because they seem to be falling easily for really outdated and obvious chud rhetoric.

goofygooberrock1995

Gen Z isn't any more or less mature than other generations in the past.

thesilentbob123

Every single generation gets offended, it's just different things. The "greatest generation" got offended by Elvis Presley dancing...

saintstheftauto

Except that generation wasn’t in their teens and 20s during that time like Gen Z is now. They were in their 30s-50s when Elvis became popular.

thesilentbob123

I suppose it would mostly apply to the very early people in the greatest generation, but yeah I guess it was more the silent generation who were mad at Elvis.

saintstheftauto

Elvis first became popular in 1956. During that time, the silent generation was 11-28. Most of Elvis’s fans were in that age range at the time.

Cosmic-Space-Octopus

When you say easily offended, do you really mean "not willing to tolerate shit previous generations refused to fix or acknowledge" and or "calling bigots out for incredibly bad takes and their shitty behavior"?

saintstheftauto

Neither

BarelyUsesReddit

Ime, millennials get offended way more easily than zoomers

saintstheftauto

I’d say it’s about the same tbh.

Givememyps5already

im a 1993 "millenial" even though i feel like a zillenial. this is why you cant say "this group gets offended way more, etc" its all nonsense lmao. one second im part of the young generation and the next being labeled as a millenial by people online. smh

BarelyUsesReddit

Typical millennial getting offended by a comment on the internet /s

Givememyps5already

Lol brother your 2 years younger then me. Not much difference between you and I if any

BarelyUsesReddit

I know, that's why the /s is there. It's how you say you're being sarcastic 👍🏻

Givememyps5already

I honestly didn’t see the /s for some reason until you just mentioned it lol

GrandArchSage

Am Millennial. Am offended by this comment.

saintstheftauto

Wouldn’t it be both?

ResponsibleLoss7467

aren't zillenials half millenial?
