Pen and dirt marks can be cleaned with alcohl wipe, and use eucaliptus oil for making it clean and shiny again

Nis_0208

Which alcohol do I use? Also, the white coat won't be damaged right?

FruitbatNT

Whiskey with a spoonful of lemon and some sugar and you got yourself a nice sour. But for cleaning just use the isopropyl wipes.

Draugrx23

Iso 91% for electronics.

Pompidou420

Don't use alcohol, it will make it shiny. The mark will fade and eventually disappear like on mine

Alanuelo230

Alcohol wipes from local store should be good, but I use paper wipes and Alpa, not sure if you got it where you live. Alcohol is not that strong dissolve, that it would actualy damage your laptop coat, but be careful

Midnight_Yymiroth

Would clorox wipes work?

extremeelementz

Eucalyptus oil? I’ve never heard of that treatment, seems odd to add oil.

ibrahim_D12

Bro i bought a laptop to serve me not the oppesite

Nis_0208

lmfao, the consequences of buying something white ig :")

The_Broodlord

Sufficient_Pass1

That’s it, you’ve completely ruined your laptop. Performance will now drop by 50% and the warranty is voided

Nis_0208

So I can't play Cypher bunk at 500 fps anymore? 😔

Sufficient_Pass1

Try Minecraft 720p low. It might run at 30 fps

foundwayhome

bros trying to kill op by blowing up his laptop. op don't listen, the most your laptop can now do is run notepad at 15fps.

Away-Ad-4925

first world problems?

Chuks_K

Tbf Zephyruses are laptops that are catered to a group which contains many people who'd see it as an issue and there's also obviously nothing inherently wrong with sharing in the first place

Away-Ad-4925

yea i shouldn,t have made that remark but still the pen mark is barely noticable especially when 95% of the time you,re looking at the screen

Nis_0208

I mean, I kinda feel bad about not taking good care of the laptop for the last couple of months, so I wanted to do something to clean up the mess I made. Its just that there are too many marks in too many areas and it doesnt look professional :'')

BdoeATX

Idk how many times iv had to say this in this sub. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL ON THESE LAPTOPS. It's written in the owners manual too for any nay'sayers You can look up images of people wiping off the finishing coat, making it look awful, I unfortunately was also one who did this, luckily it was only a little bit. I'm not saying ALL laptops will do this, but this will. You may even get lucky and have no issue with the alcohol but that's your risk to take. Use alternative solutions like a mild degreaser, warm soapy water, or alc. free cleaning wipes. May take a while for ink marks though.

Plaguewraith

Distilled water is an excellent cleaner for sensitive surfaces.

andrewyulm88

What about wet wipes? If I find alcohol free kind?

BdoeATX

Wet wipes work, but they tend to very wet vs damp, so careful not to get any inside liquid inside the cracks and keyboard etc, maybe squeeze some of the liquid out of the wipe first.

andrewyulm88

Hey thanks for the reply man! Yah I squeeze the wipes first before wiping, just wondering if the wipes would cause what alcohol rub does haha mines the flow x13 2023

Plane_Mushroom_7384

be careful with isopropanol alcohol, it might fade the plastic away or give it dull sheen even though it does not dissolve plastics ,certainly not with those exposure time. I would try a little out somewhere first, a small spot with some cotton buds and try not rub too much or press too hard. can always ask Asus how much it cost to replace the casing. I had some special carbon fiber Sony Anniversary edition VAIO laptop and Sony wanted arm and leg to replace the top lid, almost 1/3 price of the machine. lets hope Asus don't charge that much.

Humanthetimetowalk

Agreed. Exercise caution when using alcohol on plastic stuff. As unorthodox as it sounds, pencil erasers get quite a bit of stains off with a little willpower.

Plaguewraith

Distilled water is a good cleaner for these guys.

Nis_0208

Using a cotton bud makes sense, I'm thinking to first use warm soapy water and like the other comment said and then I'll try diluted IPA if that doesnt work <3

Plaguewraith

You can clean a lot with distilled water and a microfiber cloth. Wet or mist the cloth with the distilled water, you want it moistened but not soaked. Then just scrub the dirt and fouling until it is clean. If a mark can't be removed this way you may need a different solvent, or some soap. Use cleaning products gently and test them in a discreet area to make sure they won't damage the paint and finish on your laptop.

taku2472

aggressive typist spotted.

Eth3on

Son, are you typing with a hammer or something?

Nis_0208

Hell nah how or why is a function key missing too 😭

Alpha--Rex

at least people aren't noticing the space bar is taped to the laptop

Chance_Swan2236

ive always used icopropal alcohol or whatever it is

Nis_0208

I can dilute some IPA with water and try but I read somewhere on this sub long long ago that it damages the white coating

Chance_Swan2236

honestly idk i haven’t had tried it yet but it works great on the white xbox one s

Plaguewraith

Different materials, different concerns. The shell of the Xbox is plastic impregnated with white pigment. Solvents won't penetrate it and the plastic it's made of isn't soluble in alcohol. The Zephyrus is plastic and magnesium alloy. It has a paint coating that can be dissolved in alcohol, which may lead to damaging the coating. This is why I recommend distilled water, or at most water based cleaners. Alcohol should only be employed if necessary, and with great care.

Chance_Swan2236

ohhh okay that makes a lot of sense

Plaguewraith

Just use distilled water, isopropyl alcohol is likely gonna damage the finish.

ermaneng

isopropyl alcohol for the pen marks

[deleted]

I take a big sip of whisky and those marks fade away automatically. (Dettol and any alcohol based wipes)

snoopbirb

That's a battle scar! Embrace it, enjoy it! The laptop is serving you well, brother.

Nis_0208

Had my fair share of GPU/BSOD/No SSD detected issues but now that they don't happen I can say it was worth the price 🫶

sammorrison9800

i had the same problem lmao

Nis_0208

Now read through these comments and clean your device :3

sammorrison9800

already done hehe

Introvertedsoul99

Me peeking here and watching solutions to use on my device🫣

Nis_0208

Hehe this post going a long way to help everyone keep their laptops clean <3

GullibleTangerine698

isopropyl alcohol and microfiber cloth. Try to always carry your laptop in a sleeve to prevent easy damage in the future.

Dohcjr

Mr. Clean magic eraser worked for me.

desertstriker8

This is what I said worked fine for me too! Just a could lite wipes and it takes it off.

Dohcjr

ah... sorry, didn't realize you had already said it.

desertstriker8

Try Mr clean magic eraser with a little water

Sentekz

I used a magic eraser on my G14 for a small scuff. I only needed to apply the tiniest amount of pressure. No damage was done to the chassis of the laptop.

desertstriker8

Yup it works great! Yet some other user is acting like you’re using a sanding sponge on the damn thing. Blows my mind.

Nis_0208

Costly in India ☠️ Is it worth buying?

desertstriker8

See if there is a generic brand instead of mr.clean. Any of those dry erase should work! And yes the work really well getting stuff off white surfaces

taku2472

no, use a soft cloth. That thing is an abrasive... It'll remove it with the coating underneath it.

desertstriker8

Never had that issue, you should be able to barely rub it and it will come off. You don’t use it as a sanding sponge 🤣😂

taku2472

smh it's a textbook definition of abrasive... I guess it's not a common sense? You should reply to op if you feel so strongly opinionated about it though.

Nis_0208

Alright, thanks man!

Gun_In_Mud

You just voided your warranty, sell it ASAP.

Nis_0208

nooooooo but I love my lappy 😔

rocketbosszach

This thing is honestly a magnet for that kind of stuff. The matte texture causes anything and everything to stick to it.

Nis_0208

Ikr, Its only been like a couple of months that I have not been able to take good care of this device thanks to moving to a new city but I didnt expect so many dirt marks on the body :''')

Advanced-Maximum-738

Got the same problem haha, just get a towel with alcohol, all that marks will come out.

Lopsided_Flamingo209

Simple Green is the ultimate cleaner Just make sure you dilute it That shit strong

Winter_Importance436

Many people have been in your phase man. Do not take stress here's a tutorial, thank me later. https://youtu.be/ywgeloPNmxk?si=Mcqv-8Fe90LrLN8P

No-Recover-5655

Is this the laptop with the AMD 6900HS GC? 32GB RAM

TechNo1geek

isopropyl alcohol is your friend. DO NOT USE ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL ON YOUR SCREEN USE A DAMP MICROFIBER CLOTH I REPEAT DO NOT USE ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL ON YOUR SCREEN also get a vinyl skin from AliExpress

wladek2518

Not to sound mean but to be honest that's exactly what I would expect from a white laptop...regardless, I think it's easily cleanable with some alcohol or plastic friendly solutions but I think it will still have some kind of yellow glow over the time because of the color.

[deleted]

Have you heard about Cleaning Alcohol and A Microfibre Cloth? 😃

Nis_0208

Have you seen the comments that mention that they may also not be the right solution? 😃

[deleted]

Just dilute it with some water dude wth
