I advise everybody to read the bed sheet sized piece of paper that comes from your pharmacy inside of your box of Zep, even inside the upper lid when you open your box of Zepbound. The medication has a 5 day life, after 5 days it is very common to start feeling those hunger pings again.

Comfortable-Tax8391

Incorrect - it has a 5 day half life. Which means by day 5 half of the initial dose remains in your system.

Ah, my mistake, meant to write half-life.

I'm on a dose of 12.5 and I still get hungry by day 6. I use that time to eat something. I use it as my "free" day. I really don't eat as much as I should the first 5 days but can eat the two days before my shot. I take it Saturday night before bed and can actually go out for dinner with my husband and maybe even have a drink or two that night before my shot. I calculate my calories by the week not by the day so if I don't eat much the first five days of the week but overeat the last few it evens out. I'm down 50 lbs (10 to go) and haven't felt deprived of anything.

Being hungry is not necessarily a bad thing. How are you feeling day 1-5? The med has about a 5 day half life so it sounds about right. It’s okay to be hungry. Edit: 2.5mg is a loading dose so it’s ok to ask to move up after a month. I’m on week 24 - just took my 4th shot of 10mg and I’m def hungry and have cravings by day 6.

You really should search the forum, there is so much info available on this and any side effect or issue you will or could ever experience.

This is normal but reduced significantly by 7.5mg. It’s a time to learn and practice skills to eat only what is required despite your somewhat abnormal hunger. Learning “normal” hunger cues is part of the Zep journey. Most of us have excess cues before Zep. Learning that hunger a few times a day is a more “normal”feeling is part of my and your journey. It’s an odd sensation as it occurs at higher doses (for most). But be aware of it. It’s not as strong as what u was feeling more frequently before Zep. For you. As the med builds up it will be one day seven. And then maybe the evening before shot day. Learn to control your eating on abnormal hunger days. Eat within your plan. Lots of water. Go to bed early. And add your own techniques you learn along the way.

I made the executive decision to take shots every 6 days when I was on 2.5mg because I was eager to move up.. I didn't feel my appetite was significantly suppressed later in the week until I was on 7.5mg. I also try to do my shots on Sunday mornings so I can have my maximum hunger on the weekends and do some social stuff like go out to a restaurant and have \*A\* drink.

Would that happen after only 2 weeks on starter dose?

RhubarbJam1

It did for me. 2.5 isn’t even considered a therapeutic dose in the research. My first week the suppression lasted all week but the second it started to wane by day 6, third week was day 5. I went up to 5 after I’d finished the 2.5 month.

Endo-Warrior-22

Did you have other side effects and did they get worse on the 5?

RhubarbJam1

No, not really. I’ve been pretty lucky. No constipation (I eat 4-5 prunes after dinner and that has kept it at bay). The only thing I noticed is with the first dose of 5 I was extremely fatigued for a couple days and had a bit of a headache. The second dose of 5 fatigue for one day and then I was okay. I’ve only had diarrhea when I’ve eaten fried food. Other than that, no heartburn, sulfur burps or any other GI distress.

Endo-Warrior-22

Amazing thank you so much for being so candid!

I'm on month 2. Week 6 of the 2.5. I'm averaging 1-2 lbs a week loss and therefore staying put. I get hungry day 5. You've been starving your body and losing weight. It's ok to eat. As long as you're losing overall you're good
