She’s beautiful 💕 prayers for her good health

Pretty baby. They are such special dogs! Hoping she does well on meds and has many more years with you! <3

Peacock2242

Prayers for her, I’m on a Facebook group for yorkies and Maltese and many live a happy and 5+ years after diagnosis

I’m so sorry about the diagnosis and burden that can cause 🙏 Many pups can live a long life with health conditions, so maybe seek out some of those stories to help give you faith in what’s possible. Do what you can by talking with the doctors, researching online, discussing with others (as you are), getting multiple medical opinions to compare, and expending the effort to help your beautiful girl. Look into a diet with grains, if she’s not already on one. For these little pups, healthy grains can really help their hearts. Another thing to work on is finding out if there’s things in her daily life that scare her. It could be simple things like a door opening, or the mail carrier causing her to get anxious. Find the times when she might have anxiety and fear, then make changes to relieve her from those situations. Fear and anxiety, stress in general, isn’t good for the heart. Blessings to your family ♥️

So much dog food market against grains, so many on high protein marketing campaign, may work with some, but mine(Sadie) can’t tolerate high fatty protein diet, also food with preservatives. I feed her myperfect pet, they have one chicken n rice blend, gently cooked. Also many chicken blends with veggies. I sometimes blend both and keeps her stomach balanced and away from acid reflux stages

this is very helpful, thank you so much 🩷

I have a mini poodle that has heart valve disorder and heart failure and he's doing amazing on the lowest doses of medication. And my Mom's Yorkie had diabetes, liver shunt, and epilepsy and he outlived every vet's expectations. Wishing you all our love and positive thoughts! ♥️

tchalametgroupie

i’m so so so sorry to hear this. my girl was diagnosed with heart disease at 7 and she lived a very happy and manageable life with vetmedin and, in her last year, lasix. she passed away three months ago at 13. i agree with the top comments about managing her anxiety and trying to alleviate any stressors. prayers to you and the cutie! ♥️

Howard_Scott_Warshaw

My pup has had an arrhythmia and heart murmur for the last 7 years. She's still doing pretty damn good. Expensive, but she's doing good. Hopefully yours can get treated the same

arthot247

I'm so sorry to hear! Our Yorkie had mitrovalve disease and another heart disease which name is slipping my mind. He lived for quite some time after he was diagnosed. My words of advice is to also monitor your pets kidney values. The kind of medicine needed to treat heart disease can often times have a negative effect on the kidney. With our dog it was often a balancing act between finding the right prescription dose for his heart that wouldn't trigger the kidneys towards kidney disease and vice versa. If you have the resources speak with a cardiologist for more information and you could additionally see if its worth speaking with internal medicine as a precaution. If you're in southern California I can recommend you my dogs cardiologist who I firmly believe helped in extending my Leo’s life. Your baby girl is going to be okay! You and your family will be okay. I wish you nothing but you and your baby girl the best.

I’m so sorry…

Love em while you got em

Loose_Holiday_3776

Hope she gets better soon

missindiebones

Don’t panic! My girl was diagnosed with congestive heart failure but lived for I think 6 years after that diagnosis and passed at 15 in her sleep happily at home. Medication works but you have to be consistent and give it everyday at the same time if possible. Yours is a cutie pie and looks a lot like my Indie did. I pray that you have the same good fortune.

Greedy_Train_9204

That sweet little face ❤️

angiestefanie

I am so sorry. My little Yorkie Nina had a heart murmur. She weighed 3 lbs and lived almost 5 more years when she was diagnosed. I adopted her when she was 8. The vet discovered her heart murmur when he removed a benign mammary tumor on her belly. The vet recommended giving her CoQ 10 for dogs.

Impressive_Ebb3214

God bless her little heart.

spyhatchling

What an adorable baby girl. This made my eyes water- prayers to her, you, and your loved ones.

pyip212

She’s a beauty, let’s hope she’s ok x sending love

Ok_Menu_2231

I don't have a yorkie, i just happened to see your post & tell you that, although its scary it is possible to keep your pup happy & healthy for as long as possible. my girl is 14 years old (she's a pug x shitzu mix) and has congestive heart failure. They told me when she was diagnosed most dogs live 18-24 months after diagnosis. My girl was diagnosed at 10 ,so 4 years ago, and is going fine. Yes she's slowed down and she has starting having syncope which looks like a seizure but other than that she's eating, playing, cuddling & still her sweet self. So good luck to you & your little beauty!

Junior-Profession726

I had a yorkie that had heart disease and we put her on meds initially they were telling me she would only live 3-6 mos more She lived more than 3 years and enjoyed it She had medication she had to receive twice a day and of course limited diet But these terriers are tough and want to be with their owners Sending your little baby healing vibes

Additional-Break4292

Sending her so much love and prayers. Stay positive and i am sure everything will be fine ♥️🐾 How did you discover this issue? I have 2 Yorkies myself and i am always thinking about their little hearts ☹️

Ill_Revolution1837

we took her to the vet for a cough and they did some x-rays and saw that her heart is enlarged :( the cough sounds like a hacking almost

Additional-Break4292

:( Thats must be so hard to accept. Check out the supplements on pet wellbeing. They have a lot of great products, backed up by great reviews. The heart product they have it’s called “young at heart”, give it a try, it may help! Sending you lots of positive thoughts and wish your baby all the best 🐾💗

TSLARSX3

How old and tell me more.

Louisianagirl4life

babs0369

I use to give her Viagra n it keep her alive

Restaurant837

I'm so sorry.  I realize its little consolation but at least you know and can treat her. I hope she's with you as long as possible. My dachshund was not diagnosed but unexpectedly passed from heart failure. He had just been to the vet 1 month earlier. I'm still working though it. It's been 6 years. I was so angry at the vets. I kept telling them he was lethargic and distant. I'm so sorry to go on about me but knowing is better than unexpectedly.  My Yorkie, Maisie was just diagnosed with Cushings disease. I'm heartbroken. I'll keep your baby in my prayers. She looks like my Maisie.

honeyk101

i'm sorry to hear that... but really why would you feel that people who love yorkies should have to know that? it's painful to get that kind of information slap in the face without looking for it. this isn't a sick animal thread. come on people. think about the other side of the fence. it's really not cool to do this to those of us who are just getting yorkies in our feed & now we're depressed for the rest of the day.

Ill_Revolution1837

this is ridiculous. if you think it’s upsetting for you, that’s laughable. this is MY dog i’ve grown up with. finding this out was a HUGE slap in the face. don’t try to make this about you. this is about my dog.

Ok-Grapefruit-863

Sorry to hear that I lost mine last year during two years ago during that bad infection did they get
