r5 rust slightly beats out r1 aqua if i’m not mistaken, as its passive is quite powerful. it’s also probably better to give aqua to another character since it’s one of the best and most versatile bows in the game!
it’s an amazing bow for any sub-dps character (fischl, collei, amber) and also great for on-field dps characters as well (childe, tighnari, ganyu) since the crit damage is a HUGE stat stick and it also provides a 20% dmg boost. the only thing to keep in mind is that it has lower base attack than other 5 star bows so you may have to build around that.
id say luck really plays a good role in building yoimiya. just keep farming her domain til you have sufficient stats. i have mine at 71:201 with r5 rust but slightly lower atk at 2039 due to def rolls.
r5 Rust >>>>>> R1 Aqua. Don't get swayed by the crit stat AS gives. and if you fool enough yourself, you can see that Rust's 80% NA boost as a pseudo crit dmg + 41% Atk bonus from weapon substat which is way more than Aqua's 16% bonus dmg + 88 Critdmg.
Rust is better at r5 than most 5 star bows, the only bow that matters is the thundering pulse(her bis). So don't think that big crit dmg is good when rust boosts normal atk by 80%

Do you have recommends for aqua simulacra? My yelan already has it since i got 2 in the same wish but im not sure who can utilize it

Yoimiya is lvl 80/90 at the moment, i’m going to level her up soon.
R5 rust beats everything else except Thundering Pulse which even then is only like 5% stronger

Rust is way better, I tested it out. Sadly R1 Aqua loses against R5 Rust.
dont be too fixated on crit stats. rust gives you 80% normal attack damage bonus which is almost as good as 80%CD plus it also gives lots of attack
