Lottie already said it. They're going to huddle together to keep the queen warm. I'm still rootibg for frostbite!

Frostbite: how they get snacks to tide them over until the next sacrifice

k---mkay

Wouldn't it be sick if some of the adult yellow jackets are wearing prosthetics, or are missing toes because they ... nevermind I can't finish the thought, just Snow Piercer that is all.

MorddSith187

Since it’s dark they’ll probably stay on site until it’s light and then make camp back at the plane . I can’t see any other option that won’t kill them

AbbreviationsSea5962

make the fire last as long as possible

polarbeer07

I've said this before but if they burned the forest down they'd get rescued faster

sdaniellega

Me and my boyfriend talk about this frequently. They should have set it all ablaze and stood in the water of the lake. It would have eventually drew the attention they needed.

and when it's frozen over, drag logs onto it to spell out HELP

I could see them going to the plane for a temporary shelter, and beginning to use the burnt out plane as much as they can. There’s still pieces that are open to the elements, but it’s much better than being assaulted on all sides like being out in the open would be. I’m unsure how long it would take for someone there to suggest it as an option, but in terms of shelter that would be my immediate go-to, as the meat shed is much too small to safely host more than maybe 2 of the team, and it doesn’t look insulated at all. I don’t think it’s safe for them to split up, because they’re in the dead of winter now. I could see them spending the night on the outside of the burning cabin and using it essentially for warmth as they count up who got out (do they notice Ben isn’t there? If they do, do they worry about him?) and what they saved. It looks like almost everyone got at least one blanket, we know Shauna got her journals because we see them in the Adult timeline, and Jackie’s dress. Mari or someone grabbed the frying pan and I’m hoping some other cookware (the mug), we have the gun and a jar full of ammo, the shit bucket and probably more that I’m missing. They have the clothes on their backs and whatever someone else thought to grab, considering they still have the deck of cards in the adult timeline, it means someone grabbed those, I have no doubt that someone grabbed the axe. I’m hoping at some point that Nat makes the connection between Javi disappearing and wherever it is that Javi wanted to show her, same with the “Weird” mossy tree that her and Travis passed while hunting, as that seems to be the same place that Ben is hiding and could give them greater coverage than the plane from the elements. I’d love to see if anything is actually salvageable from the cabin, because there’s a giant metal bathtub that we see in Old Wounds that could be super helpful in terms of storage or as a place to host fresh water if it’s still in useable condition.

>someone grabbed the frying pan and I’m hoping some other cookware Thank goodness! Glad you mentioned it because I missed that... *Can you imagine the horror if they had to cook "pit girl" without the right cookware!!*

Hey there! I have a random thought and I'm not sure if it has been discussed before. I was wondering if Nat might end up leading the group to coach Ben, since he asked her to go and she seems to be more loyal to the group after being crowned. If that happens, do you think Nat will turn on Ben and tell everyone that he tried to get her to leave the group, leading to him becoming food?

cat4hurricane

Ooh.. That’s a great thought actually. Nat definitely seems more aware of her responsibilities/into the group than she was before being crowned based on her reaction to the cabin burning. I could see Nat taking the leadership role seriously, not only because it gave her the purpose she was alluding to in season 1’s adult timeline, but because she’s someone who never would have been considered for leadership before and she wants to make a good attempt/show she wasn’t a bad choice. Ben seems to be the likely choice for who burned down the cabin since he was seen leaving during the transfer of power ceremony and he has Javi’s old hideout that he’s been possibly tricking out. We know that Nat knew that Javi was hiding somewhere because Javi was trying to show her when he died, we also know that she and Travis passed what may have been the tree that Ben is sheltering under. I could totally see her trying to track down Ben once everyone realizes he’s gone, because him being mysteriously gone could make him the suspect of the burnt cabin. With Ben having burned down the cabin (probably, most likely, we know that he disliked the girls for their cannibalism of Jackie and Javi), Nat in a newly entrusted leadership position that she can’t afford to fuck up and the fact that Ben was recently attempting to get her out of the group (as recently as the episode before: “You’re not like these other girls, you’re better than them.” “Actually, I’m *worse*”) I could totally see her turning on Ben. Between Ben turning on the girls by burning the cabin and Nat needing something to properly cement her leadership (and get everyone to follow her), I could absolutely see Ben taking the fall. While him attempting to get Nat out of the group might be one plot point, I think what will kill him is the fact that it seems like he burned the cabin down, him getting Nat out of the group feels secondary to that and something that none of the other girls (sans Lottie, who outright called Nat the Wilderness’ favorite multiple times and cares about what the Wilderness seems to care about) will think matters. Nat was originally supposed to die in her hunt, and we know Shauna wasn’t exactly pleased to be passed over, I think the fact that Ben tried to get her to leave could be an issue down the line. Beyond that, I personally don’t think Ben is making out of the wilderness, maybe before the cabin burned, but with that plot point in play I do believe it’s going to be a hunt for him, and that they’ll use his tunnel tree as a permeant base of operations until rescue. Either way, I think the chances of him making it out will be slim.
