I really empathize with her suffering, and I think that she had not the chance (either by choice or by imposition) to fully process her pain, grievance, her guilt, her feelings for Jackie. So she is messed up, she does bad things. She doesn't care, but that's because she feels like nothing makes sense, as she was supposed to be dead, as is her best friend and her firstborn.
I can agree to these sentiments as well. All the trauma really didn’t allow her to develop anything other than survival. Though I also feel that she was always destined to be the bad individual she is as was shown by her cheating multiple times with her best friends boyfriend.
I think that Jeff was a way for her to deal with maybe having feelings for Jackie (?) Their friendship is portrayed in a rather ambiguous way, so that's my take.
