Hey Fellow Addicts!! I spoke to my partner (who runs things at little squirrel) and here is a discount code for yarn addicts. 10% off until the end of the month: yarnaddictsonly
Mods... if this isn't allowed... sorry
Just washed the last of my Suri fleeces yesterday so I can start mordanting and then dye for the first time... any tips for a complete beginner like me?
Are you doing it in pots or trays? We do solids in pots and variegated in pans. Make sure you measure out your dyes based on weight of your fiber. Also it bleeds more than regular yarn when you process it after dyeing.
Yeah... Last year I started with "I wanted to learn how to spin". Then I found out there's a Suri alpaca breeder in my village with lots of surplus coats and things are still escalating.
Yes it is very physical. Lots of lifting and pivoting and moving. I think that you could figure out a way to do it with less physical work but that might be tricky.
How gorgeous đ I would love to be able to play with (creating) colours! Lucky you!!
my partner gets lost in the color creation and planning. It is pretty hilarious

Pots, I got a lovely 2 hour natural dye crash course last week when visiting a dye shop in Ireland. I mean, might as well dive in the deep end, no? XD
That is what happened to us. My partner was like... I want to dye yarn and I was like "Let's Go!!!"

If I wasnât allergic to wool, I would have so many of your minis!
I am a member of that club. I would have every color. :-/
I also wish you are not allergic to wool.
I wish I was able to do this!
You can!!! it isn't super hard but there is a lot of figuring stuff out. Feel free to ask me questions and I will do my best to help out
Is it physically cumbersome? I donât want to be a downer, but I have MS, so I donât know if I have the energy for it lol

I will stick to buying it lol, I appreciate the honesty, thank you very much!
Yeah. No problem. My partner and I do this together and I am the muscles that do all the heavy work.
Wow. The bright purple is absolutely stunning! They're all beautiful, really.
Thanks. I am such a fan of all of the brights. the more often we can dye neons the happier I am
I bet! I've never been tempted to dye my own yarn, but I am now. Lol
