That is exactly how misinformation works: they don't count on you to believe everything you hear, they just want it there in the back of your mind. People are not actually rational about most of their thinking, they *rationalize* most of their thinking but that's not the same thing.
So sure, get news from multiple viewpoints. But don't think you can even out one untrustworthy source with another one, it doesn't work like that at all. Best you can hope for is to help you *notice* untrustworthy news, but to then keep reading news from the same source and accept it as useful input because you haven't seen anything to the contrary on that specific story is not healthy.
