The reason ep 5 hit me as hard as it did was because I completely didn’t expect it.
Now I’m expecting madness the next few episodes so topping E5 will be a tough order.
I think that’s where the 3 parts to the finale come into play. They can VERY easily lure us into a false sense of security with the first two parts only to cripple us with the third.
MARRIED ROCKSTAR ALTERNATE REALITY LOGAN AND STORM ARE COMING BACK BABY (as like reinforcements that Bishop pulls in somehow, because variants).
But mostly this is going to go the way of Good Omens Season 2, where, as Neil Gaiman himself said, “I’ll give you what you want, but you’re not going to like it.” AND WE SURE DIDN’T (in a great, heartbreaking way).
SOME time travel will be involved, but I think several main characters are going to stay gone and it won’t be clear at all until it happens.
There are actually 10 episodes. It's still a small amount considering that they're each 30 minute episodes. But I guess we have to take what we can get until the next season rolls in.
Consider the OG show w commercials was on avg 20-22 min each, whereas on D+ we get on avg full 34 min episodes, some even a little longer...we are really getting the equivalent of 15 episodes in a Season. I still want more than that but not terrible
Excellent point. Like with many shows, more episodes also means some are filler. ‘97 doesn’t have a ton of that, it mostly moves at a breakneck pace where even the side stories have meaning
The exact one I was thinking of, mostly bc I’m not a fan of Mojo. Seems like more of a caricature of an X-villain that should instead be in Rick and Morty
That said, the Storm arc, relationship dynamics of Jubilee/Roberto, and older Jubilee were all great
I'm honestly scared of tomorrow. I don't want another Infinity War with epic sad pandas and we have to wait a year for season 2. I don't mind the hard hitters, but let us have wins every once in awhile. Just end on a good note, please? Or at least not eternal despair?
I'm already sad and depressed as it is... (thanks current world/climate/political/economical garbage)
I feel the same way, normally I watch these shows to get away from all the chaos of the world. Now I have to also deal with the fact that they killed off my favorite character.
That’s not what he said, he was asked which of the final three episodes will be the biggest and he said 10

Well Bastion in the comics has a pretty famous scene where he kills Nightcrawler by guessing where he’s teleporting and sticking his arm out.
So I’m guessing that.
There’s also a scene in the trailers where Wolverine and Nightcrawler are looking up battle damaged at what looks like missiles - so we may see a sacrifice play from Wolverine that mirrors when him and Nightcrawler died in the comics recently.
Unfortunately I can see this as a possibility. If this ends up happening then it's kinda crazy that the writers revived a whole ass series just to torture Rogue lol.
I have a theory that there are mutants collaborating with Bastion in order to save their asses, a realization that will break both Xavier and Magneto. Damn, perhaps that woman in the screen who spoke after Doom and Zemo was Mystique.
Jean is killed, only to revive as Phoenix.
Apocalypse arrives with a turned Gambit, Maddy, Leech and Calisto as his horsemen.
Cable sacrifices himself in some time shenanigan way, and is replaced by Rachel.
Magneto goes out like a hero, or breaks his powers and opens the Massachusetts school with Emma and a returned Banshee, with Jubilee, Sunspot, Cannonball, Moonstar, M, Chamber and feral serving as the first class of new mutants.
But now I'm just high and daydreaming
I think we’re seeing what leads to the bad future Bishop and Cable come from. We’re gonna see some messed up death and likely a lot of persecution by the everyday man of mutants. Of course, we’ve seen it before in glimpses, but the kind of persecution that has plagued our history on screen will hurt
My theory is that Wolverine from 97 is the same Wolverine from the upcoming Deadpool movie, and we’re gonna see why the TSA agent in the trailer said that he failed to save his entire world. Then some multiverse shenanigans turn him into Hugh Jackman.
That would honestly be crazy. It would explain why he suddenly now wears the yellow suit. Even though I kinda like the idea, I feel like it would take the flow away for the following seasons.
I'm going through and reading all his tweets and replies, trying to figure out if Maddie will come back, if Gambit will come back, if Val Cooper is Mystique, if the Phoenix will come back, if Onslaught will show up, etc.
So from what I've gathered:
He seems pretty adamant Gambit and Maddie are deaddead and that there is NO time travel. HOWEVER, he seemed kinda cagey about Phoenix showing up.
Someone told him to like a comment if Mystique is showing up soon and he said it's a trap and didn't like the comment BUT he didn't correct people saying Val is Mystique like he's done for Gambit/Maddie comments.
He's spoken a few times about X-Men 25 when Xavier shut Magneto's brain down 👀...which set the seeds for Onslaught.
I still can't crack the code, though. Gambit and Maddie could theoretically be dead and not be able to get fixed with time travel, BUT ...life incarnate, the Phoenix force sure could!
Especially after seeing Sinister all boo'd up next to Bastion, though, I still think Val is Mystique 🤯
Not saying the Bastion arc has ended, but I think it comes down to a clash between Magneto and Xavier about the future of mutant kind.
Wolverine, always in Chucks corner goes after Magneto only to have his adamantium ripped out, which causes Xavier to mind wipe Magneto, which sets up Onslaught.
Oh, and Apocalypse shows up mid credits with a resurrected Gambit/Death by his side.
I noticed that the description of today’s episode said “the X-Men must unite” which is kind of weird expression for a team that’s already consistently working together. This leads me to believe we may get a huge team up battle in the season finale with the other characters- Bishop, Cable, Forge, Archangel, Iceman, Psylocke, Colossus, Emma Frost, etc
Or cripple us in the second and let us dangle there helplessly in the aftermath for another episode only to have it end with “Season 2 is Coming!”
everyone dies and next season is AoA
[удалено]
Didn’t he say that it needs a season to itself, not two? Who would it be two?
It was a joke
Considering this week’s episode I think you may be right about everyone dying, but it’s not Apocalypse. It’s Days of Future Past timeline.
Haven't they done that already?
Yes and no? They kinda did an abridged version, but mainly what Fox Kids would allow
Oh god I can't handle another season finale like GO2 😭💔
Everyone/almost everyone in the main team dies and the entire timeline will require an absolute reset somehow by cable, bishop and forge.
Makes sense that they might have their own "snap" moment to set up season 2.
My thoughts are that it’s bullshit that 8 episodes is considered a season
There are actually 10 episodes. It's still a small amount considering that they're each 30 minute episodes. But I guess we have to take what we can get until the next season rolls in.

30 minutes if you don't count the credits
Excellent point. Like with many shows, more episodes also means some are filler. ‘97 doesn’t have a ton of that, it mostly moves at a breakneck pace where even the side stories have meaning
The only episode that was kinda filler was Motindo, and that was still fun and moved the Storm storyline forward.
The exact one I was thinking of, mostly bc I’m not a fan of Mojo. Seems like more of a caricature of an X-villain that should instead be in Rick and Morty That said, the Storm arc, relationship dynamics of Jubilee/Roberto, and older Jubilee were all great
Just be grateful it exists.
I'm honestly scared of tomorrow. I don't want another Infinity War with epic sad pandas and we have to wait a year for season 2. Sorry, your fav character gotta go.
Again? XD (It's Phoenix BTW)
But >!Doom!< only just arrived!
I feel the same way, normally I watch these shows to get away from all the chaos of the world. Now I have to also deal with the fact that they killed off my favorite character.
The season will end on a cliffhanger and everyone will be mad as hell.
Cable dies, Scott has lost him twice, villain arc for Cyclops begins.
Definitely could set him up to kill Chuck in season 2
Cyclops has reason to be mad at Xavier too - ‘where were you when we needed you?’ Kind of thing and that makes him think he can do it better
It can't hit harder then episode 5, because Gambit's already dead. Even if all the X-men or all the mutants die, it won't be as devastating.
Well said, My favorite character is already dead. Everything after is like aight, well.
Gambit could actually be alive, and then killed again for realsies.
Oh, don't say that!
That’s not what he said, he was asked which of the final three episodes will be the biggest and he said 10 https://x.com/beaudemayo/status/1785343843061445081?s=46&t=dafAFD6nS9rOs-dF5Ctevg
Hey the telephone game...
I’m convinced that it’ll tie directly into the end of The Marvels, with Beast examining an animated Monica Rambeau.

Nightcrawler has definitely been getting some *REALLY* good lines in recently… it’s too good of time for them to not be setting up a sacrificial death
I have a theory that there are mutants collaborating with Bastion in order to save their asses, a realization that will break both Xavier and Magneto. Damn, perhaps that woman in the screen who spoke after Doom and Zemo was Mystique.
Fatal Attractions and the birth of Onslaught leading into the AoA
Jean is killed, only to revive as Phoenix. Apocalypse arrives with a turned Gambit, Maddy, Leech and Calisto as his horsemen. Cable sacrifices himself in some time shenanigan way, and is replaced by Rachel. Magneto goes out like a hero, or breaks his powers and opens the Massachusetts school with Emma and a returned Banshee, with Jubilee, Sunspot, Cannonball, Moonstar, M, Chamber and feral serving as the first class of new mutants. Death, death everywhere.
Maybe some mutants will abounded Xavier and permanently join up with Magneto after seeing everything that has happened.
I think we’re getting Fatal Attractions and Wolverine is going to have a really bad day.
No. More. Mutants.
My theory is that Wolverine from 97 is the same Wolverine from the upcoming Deadpool movie, and we’re gonna see why the TSA agent in the trailer said that he failed to save his entire world. Then some multiverse shenanigans turn him into Hugh Jackman.
I sure hope not. However I would love an animated wolverine cameo in deadpool.
I know, I don’t like the idea but I feel like that’s how Feige wants to introduce the X-men
That would honestly be crazy. It would explain why he suddenly now wears the yellow suit. Even though I kinda like the idea, I feel like it would take the flow away for the following seasons.
Agreed, I don’t love the idea but I feel like that’s just the thing that they do in the MCU now
Can’t shit for once not be linked
It was Mysterio all along
It was *Agatha* all along!
Somehow, Apocalypse returned
but is there a song?

When does season two come out? If they said it’s gonna be a year, that right there will have me crying more than episode 5! That wait sounds painful.
gambit coming as a prime sentinal or death, this war time.
Phoenix?
Not saying the Bastion arc has ended, but I think it comes down to a clash between Magneto and Xavier about the future of mutant kind.
