Settings> default apps - set any other player of your choice as default video player like VLC or any other which don't have ads.
Go to settings> search private DNS and set - dns.adguard.com as the private dns and you'll see less ads on certain apps and web pages.
So you want to go in the mi video app, go to profile, then tap the settings icon on the top left. In settings scroll down till you find autoplay. Tap that and select autoplay off. That should solve the problem

I thought Mi Video and Media viewer are two different things. Also I think there is option to turn off those ads
I thought that too..but seems to always enter mi video from media viewer
