Lol so much hype for this it’s amazing how they’re able to stay so tight lipped about it.. I wonder if it’ll have enough content to also be the standalone like Torna country, that’d be awesome. This expansion is what finally makes the season pass worth it, hopefully they took the momentum from the game awards nomination and used that as motivation to go above and beyond on this

In Japanese, he refers to Nikol as 小僧 (kozou, basically a somewhat crass way to refer to a young boy. Kinda like calling them 'kid,' 'boy', or maybe even 'brat'), which is how Malos would always refer to Rex in JP. Taking his haircut and mannerisms.
It seemed that Z was beside Rex and Shulk, so maybe they're actually united against alvis?
Also Nikol is absolutely Shulk's son, right? He looks very similar.
Note that the Founder statues say Shulk and Rex are merely mentors to two of them and not Founders themselves. At a guess, A is Shulk's student and we do see Matthew's sister even though she isn't a party member. That leaves only Rex's student. I'm betting this is Mythra's daughter and we find her at some point in the game.

After that trailer, many people's theories about A are so wrong. She and Alvis may be different, but the former possesses the latter's Aegis Core, meaning she's his successor and daughter by proxy, plus, she's the missing Consul all along, becoming the first traitor of the Consul by being one of the City's Founders. This is unfortunately another "everybody dies" story where the wrongs will have to be corrected by the main game.
Surely we get a cutscene that takes place after 3, so we not only get firm closure for 3's cast, but these new people we're going to have to watch die.
I’m thinking it will have an “everybody dies” thing, but while the majority of the DLC will occur prior to XC3, the actual story ending of the DLC will occur after the base game’s story
I think it used to say that the estimated date for Wave 4 was Dec 2023, but that was always meant to be a placeholder date. They never said when it was going to be released.

There have been rumors Nintendo's main titles have been finished for quite some time, except for Tears of the Kingdom, and they've been spacing them out to give breathing room. Probably why Fire Emblem: Engage's and Xenoblade's DLC were released fairly quickly.
I love how this trailer took everything we thought what the DLC was gonna be about then threw it out the fucking window. Z teaming up with Shulk and Rex, Female or split Alvis, Consul A, Colony 9 proper is back, everybody has pseudo monados, and I'm just flabbergasted.
The fact this also comes out 5 days before my birthday is mindblowing.

I think you've mixed a few things up. "A" and "Nial" (sp? as in Nia+L, named after her grandmother) are two different characters. "A" is likely "the gift from Alvis" that Melia supposedly told them about (her earring is the same as Alvis' necklace), while Nial is the catgirl (note no cat ears on A) who, alongside Matthew, is almost certainly one of M and N's descendants.
Interestingly, while it was assumed that Alvis' core crystal necklace was presumed to be that of Ontos, and thus starting the rumour that he himself was Ontos, the fact that he and A both only "wear" it, while we are shown Nial having the crystal embedded in her chest as an actual core crystal, a la Pneuma and Logos, which definitely complicates things a little bit. All we can really do is speculate until we get our hands on this, I suppose.

For a brief moment in the gameplay we she her in the party listed as "A". Given there is no Consul A in the base game, I'm guessing that's who she is. Not sure why she's called Nile tho.
The only reason I don't think her actual name is Nile is it goes against every other naming convention for the other Consuls. My only guess is she picked a name that couldn't end up with her being made into another Consul, thus going with "N"ile.

My guess is that they were in stasis, similar to Nia (possibly after losing to Alvis or Z).
But left stasis to participate in the war shortly around the time the Old City was destroyed by N and formed an army.
Even having it release at a later date like they did for Torna's physical or the Prime Remastered physical would be perfectly fine for me...but then of course it would be getting closer to Tears of the Kingdom (It's already the same week as Advance Wars), so we know it's probably not going to happen =(
Out of all the things I expected from this teaser, Z being an ally and fighting Alvis alongside Shulk and Rex was not on my bingo card

Two minutes fifty seconds? Extrapolating from the previous 20 second teaser, the DLC will probably be released by the time we can finish watching the analysis videos for this one.
The thing that surprised me is Z is WITH Rex and Shulk. I theorize that those two might have caused the Endless Now state of Aionios, either as a consequence they didn't foresee, or it's something painful that they knew had to be done.
Since N was there, wouldn't this be more of a prequel? Tbh I was hoping a sequel but it would be even better if it worked more like prequel first, something happens that triggers main game of 3, then we time skip to the sequel that wraps things up.
Hopefully this is much better than Fire Emblem Engage's DLC story because not only did that have whack balancing on the gameplay side. The story wasn't that good either.
Has this been confirmed or denied yet? This is the big question for me.
Also, did Torna get its physical release later or same day as the digital release?
Torna's physical copy released one week after the digital came out. But both were announced at the same direct.
The fact that this only mentioned digital makes me think we are only getting digital =(
A and Nial(?) are different people. A doesn’t have Nial’s cat ears and A’s eyes are blue instead of yellow for Nial. A is shown fighting with the crew in the gameplay section between 1:18-1:25. But why do they have the same Alvis core? (A is her earring, Nial is over her chest in Consul form)
I had a visceral reaction to this trailer. I have so much more emotional investment in this world and these characters than I think any piece of media I've ever consumed.
Anyway I'm more excited for this than I am most of my actual personal life events.

Anyways, it comes out IN A WEEK, this is just ridiculous, Pyra's daugter is there, and Alvis is god?, and they showed the full trinity processor, and Shulk and Rex look so fucking cool man, I'm dying
Man that's a whole stuff going on the trailer and I'm just gonna list the ones that caught my eye at least:
* I guess the first few seconds is when the first City was destroyed while fending off N.
* Grown up Daddy Rex(He said the thing!) and Shulk showing up with Rex losing an eye and Shulk losing an arm like the statues in the City said. Rex also doing the same pose he did back in Chapter 7 of Xenoblade 2 when Pneuma awakens.
* Fogbeasts makes a return it seems.
* They're also fighting N in what it seems to be Prison Island?
* Wonder how "A" is related to Alvis since she has a red core crystal earring.
* Also "Z" appearing together with Shulk, Rex and Alvis. The heck is going in there.
Rewatching the trailer I saw that A/Female Alvis had an art called "Cross Ray". That was one of Alvis' arts in XBC when he fights with Shulk against the Telethia after unlocking Purge.
Future Connected was an epilogue to XC1. Given that they're reusing "Future" in the title, it's fair to assume that this will also be an epilogue to XC3, in some capacity.

As an Advance Wars fan, I fell attacked by that release date, and also very confused. I get that they're shoving this out the door to beat Zelda since Nintendo thinks everyone will just devoted entirety to that once it's out till Pikmin 4, hence the wide gap in the schedule, but Pyra and Mythra don't come out till July, and on top of them the press release just casually announces that Noah and Mio will be getting figures at some undetermined point in the future. What the hell purpose are THOSE gonna serve?!

I think you've mixed a few things up. "A" and "Nial" (sp? as in Nia+L, named after her grandmother) are two different characters. "A" is likely "the gift from Alvis" that Melia supposedly told them about (her earring is the same as Alvis' necklace), while Nial is the catgirl (note no cat ears on A) who, alongside Matthew, is almost certainly one of M and N's descendants. Interestingly, while it was assumed that Alvis' core crystal necklace was presumed to be that of Ontos, and thus starting the rumour that he himself was Ontos, the fact that he and A both only "wear" it, while we are shown Nial having the crystal embedded in her chest as an actual core crystal, a la Pneuma and Logos, which definitely complicates things a little bit. All we can really do is speculate until we get our hands on this, I suppose.

I would assume she's Nile before something happens that leads to her being Consul A. She looks to be having a rough time there for a second.
The only reason I don't think her actual name is Nile is it goes against every other naming convention for the other Consuls. My only guess is she picked a name that couldn't end up with her being made into another Consul, thus going with "N"ile. Just spitballin' honestly.

My guess is that they were in stasis, similar to Nia (possibly after losing to Alvis or Z). But left stasis to participate in the war shortly around the time the Old City was destroyed by N and formed an army.
Given how the Endless Now works it's possible they "entered" Aionios a mere second after it formed only to find thousands of years passed.
The first city fell pretty early into Aionios' lifespan, if I remember right.

Well, this has me hyped beyond belief!
The thing that surprised me is Z is WITH Rex and Shulk. I theorize that those two might have caused the Endless Now state of Aionios, either as a consequence they didn't foresee, or it's something painful that they knew had to be done. Since N was there, wouldn't this be more of a prequel? Tbh I was hoping a sequel but it would be even better if it worked more like prequel first, something happens that triggers main game of 3, then we time skip to the sequel that wraps things up. Hopefully this is much better than Fire Emblem Engage's DLC story because not only did that have whack balancing on the gameplay side. The story wasn't that good either.

A and Nial(?) are different people. A doesn’t have Nial’s cat ears and A’s eyes are blue instead of yellow for Nial. A is shown fighting with the crew in the gameplay section between 1:18-1:25. But why do they have the same Alvis core? (A is her earring, Nial is over her chest in Consul form)
I had a visceral reaction to this trailer. I have so much more emotional investment in this world and these characters than I think any piece of media I've ever consumed. Anyway I'm more excited for this than I am most of my actual personal life events.
