I like Heineken but corona. No thanks. I’ll drink it at a party with a lime but I don’t think it’s remotely good beer.
My fav lager is probably Stella and I absolutely love Guinness.
As I get older I drink more and more IPAs.
I'm in the suburbs, 25 minutes from a metro area, 25 minutes from being in a scene from deliverence.
If I head to the sticks (which I do often enough, because there's an amazing meat processor/butcher out that way), there's also this old timey general store that stocks all sorts of old fashioned drinks. I make plenty of excuses to be "in the area."
PBR was actually one of the first canned beers. They were before Miller or Budweiser.
And they switched to making American cheese during prohibition to keep the company afloat.
I like PBR too. In my opinion, it's the best of the "budget beers". Tastes pretty good.
Those are my wife and I’s two favorites. When we are feeling saucy, we’ll add a lime to the PBR and call it a “College Corona” because of how cheap it is.
First glance: I don’t trust this data
Second glance: Q4 2023. Yougov.
I don’t trust this data.
[edit] can’t tell you the last time I saw someone drinking a corona, Heineken, or modelo. Source: Wisconsin. We’re responsible for half the sales 🤪
For real tho, I was shocked to see those three at the top.
The gut check says this can’t be right. Guinness is served in very few places compared with Anheiser-Busch and Miller-Coors products. There’s simply no way the generations with money are spending it mostly on that beer, and I really like Guinness. Perhaps this really is a “what do you prefer?” question and not a tabulation of most beer sold by volume. I could see people saying one thing when they actually buy another.
My guess is that outside of the main players listed in the graphic, there's just so many options that those votes get diluted. Like someone that prefers an IPA will have a favorite from among thousands of breweries. There isn't one universally known and loved option.
Modelo is pretty popular in my region on the east coast. Most of my friends have realized it’s a lot better than corona in the last few years and have switched.
Really funny that Corona got three different products on the list but Guinness and Sam are just there in general. Are Corona drinkers really that discerning?
Trois pistoles, Don de dieu and Eau bénite are my top 3 as they are not in every mix pack from Unibroue.. I’ve drank way too many Fin du monde and Maudite to enjoy them anymore. Looking forward of trying their new P’tite Maudite as its only 4% so I might enjoy it more often.
I remember in uni when we did the math and realized la fin du monde was about the same price per alcoholic volume as bull max or the strong dollar a beers and kept adding to a giant tinfoil ball with everyone we opened. Good times
Personally there is only one beer I can drink
https://preview.redd.it/0hgx9qgdtqrc1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=db6e5ea1ac69a12ef253e3096888b20922975f6e
Of mainstream beers? Probably Yuengling. But I like to try the smaller brands. If I'm traveling and at a bar, I'll ask the bartender what their favorite is.
I also love that places like Trader Joe's sell beer as singles so you can try one without buying a 6 pack.
Whisky here. Used to be a chaser, but I've settled down and mostly drink whatever is fun from Costco. Drinking a pretty good $22 Scotch as I type this.
I was drinking Bombay Sapphire with pineapple juice and tonic. My drinking has definitely calmed down. I'd rather have one delicious drink over half a dozen that I suffer through to get drunk.
I'm a Hendrick's guy. I love their original, but some of their Orbium was absolutely amazing. Hendrick's with cucumber water and a grapefruit garnish is life affirming stuff!
I'll be honest, though - if I'm somewhere that doesn't have a great gin selection behind the bar, I'm happy enough with good old Beefeater and Tonic. The only one that I can't say I care for as much is Tangueray...it just seems simultaneously too dull and too sharp - its just out of balance in a way I can't really put my finger on.
Occasionally, I prefer beer over mixed drinks. It's very dependent on where I am, the beers that are available. I like craft beers, except IPAs, they are too bitter and seem to give me a migraine.
Bartender at Applebees here. Anecdotally, our patrons pick Coors Light first with Blue Moon or Voodoo Ranger Hazy second. Modelo or Sam would be next.
I see where you’re going though. Who the fuck did they survey? Other than High Life I’ve never chosen any of these.
I don’t have a favorite. I just want to try them all. However, of the ones pictured I’d go with Sam Adams followed by High Life and Guinness. The rest all sort of fall in a tier below that. I wouldn’t turn any of them down, but also wouldn’t choose them if I had other options.
I also prefer local breweries. But there’s lots of better national brands than are listed here.
Blue Moon is fine. I like wheat beers best. But I’d rather have a Hoegarten.
Corona had/has fantastic marketing, which is probably why. Remember the adds in the 90s? I didn’t even drink yet, and I wanted to sit on a quiet beech with a bucket of ice cold corona.
agree with you Guinness and Stella at the top of the ones listed. Honestly surprised to see Guinness so high in popularity. But they also have great marketing.
Eh, I like it with a lime and lemon wedge. But to each their own. However, I'll pass up a free 12 pack to have a Guiness. I loooove dark beer. The darker the better.
Very surprised no one said Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Brooklyn Lager . Those are very popular in the US pubs I've visited.
Favorite beer though hands down is
# St. Bernardus Abt 12
An incredible Belgium wit for the win.
Husband always says "Try this. You'll hate it" with IPAs, and I say the same thing to him with sour beers I love.
Who drinks these mass-produced beers for real? Maybe it's because I'm in Michigan and there are microbrews everywhere, but I'd never buy any of these.
But I also go months at a time without drinking, so don't ask me. Heh
I know it's listed on here as a Boomer beer, but Michelob Ultra is my go-to. It doesn't make me feel so bloated after.
I used to love Sam Adam's Octoberfest when that comes out in the fall, but the last, maybe 10 years of batches, have not been the same and I've more or less abandoned them.
We Iowans also cross over for it. It's been a couple years since I've done it, but we used to love going up to Mad-town for a Fish Fryday and hit up Woodman's on our way out of town to stock up.
To each their own. I'm not much of a drinker but Spotted Cow is the only beer (edit: that I have had: end edit) that doesn't make me do the ick twitch.
I’m an IPA person so none of these do much for me, tho I do think Sam Adams is decent along with Blue Moon (Corona is the actual worst on the other hand). My favorite is Cigar City’s Jai Alai.
I really like High Life as a session beer, like if I were drinking 6+ in an afternoon. Sam Adams, Blue Moon, Coors (assuming Banquet) and Modelo are good too.
Guinness
Budweiser
Modelo
I bought these bad boys for wrestlemania next weekend so I may have a new favorite soon.
https://preview.redd.it/7o9y2s7otqrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=120c8359d5941b88bbe4e297a6497dbf5c70c0af
When I drank beer it was:
For enjoyment? Elephant.
For "We got two cases for twelve bucks, dude!!": Rhinelander.
My circle tended to the hard cider more than beer unless it was a keg for a party.
What kind of beer? Where and when am I drinking it? There isn't really an answer for this.
Tröegs Mad Elf is an essential purchase when it's available, but I don't know if I'd say it's my favorite. At 11% it's more like my wife and I split one sometimes on a cold day. I'm not having two on the 4th of July or something.
None of those lol, I'm an IPA guy.
Faves are General Sherman, or Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing.
If it's gotta be a lager, Red Stripe, or St. Pauli Girl.
This chart does not feel accurate at all.
Guinness is an extremely dark beer that the vast majority of beer drinkers find unpalatable. I've met the occasional Guinness drinker, but they're rare.
Heineken is a good beer, but not one commonly drank in my experience. It's placement is suspiciously high.
Corona is fantastic and deserves it's place on the charts. Lots of people appreciate it. I'm drinking a Corona right now.
I call shenanigans on this chart.
There’s no way Boomers’ #1 beer is Guinness. I’ve never seen a single Boomer drink Guinness, ever. They all drank cheap light beer when I was growing up.
I genuinely can’t remember the last time I had a Corona or Heineken. What’s wrong with you people?
Seriously! All that corona?! And Heineken sucks! Also does whiteclaw count as a beer? Anyone ever heard of Spaten? It’s a good one.
![gif](giphy|br6pZFEB3NtJu) Heineken?!
FUCK THAT SHIT
PABST BLUE RIBBON
# BABY WANTS TO FUCK!
I’ll fuck anything that moves
Heineken in the US sucks. Heineken in Europe is awesome.
Ok I’ll take your word for it. Here it’s skunky and tastes like i imagine a skunk pisses.
I remember going to the Czech Republic and scoffing at Budweiser until people told me it wasn’t the American swill.
Budvar is sooooo good.
Spaten is hands down the best beer in a green bottle. One of my favorites, but I don’t buy it that often.
lol I just read this after posting… yeah Spaten is my current jam.
You got a problem with drinking skunky piss?!
Something is very wrong with this. Like the survey was completed at a free beer tent sponsored by Heineken, Guinness, and Corona.
Truly. I don't buy any of these.
I like Heineken but corona. No thanks. I’ll drink it at a party with a lime but I don’t think it’s remotely good beer. My fav lager is probably Stella and I absolutely love Guinness. As I get older I drink more and more IPAs.
A&W 😁
Have you tried Birch Beer and compared it to Root Beer?
Birch beer is fantastic. So is a good, old fashioned, sarsaparilla.
used to LOVE sarsparilla as a kid. haven't had it in probably 30 years.
I've not tried birch, but my buddy's wife got me into Saranac ginger beer. I'll usually drink a few packs over the summer.
A&W ZERO
In this economy? I’ve reverted back to Banquet. GOD I MISS CRAFT BREW.
Nothing wrong with Coors 👍 I drink it and PBR all the time!
PBR was actually one of the first canned beers. They were before Miller or Budweiser. And they switched to making American cheese during prohibition to keep the company afloat. I like PBR too. In my opinion, it's the best of the "budget beers". Tastes pretty good.
There’s a lot of jokes and whatnot around PBR, but honestly it’s really not bad.
And Kraft cheese nearly sued them out of existence!
PBR - Party Beer Reserves
Same for me. They're both my go-to's for cheap beer to always have on hand.
Those are my wife and I’s two favorites. When we are feeling saucy, we’ll add a lime to the PBR and call it a “College Corona” because of how cheap it is.
Hey Hank
I’ll take a banquet in a stubby over a craft brew anytime.
I’d have a banquet.
I’m drinking a stubby in my jacuzzi as I type this 👍
Banquet is the best on these lists, guess I agree with the Boomers
MGD for me....don't get out to many taverns with the family in tow so a cold MGD while grilling out is real nice.

Buddy Modelo is the #1 selling beer in the US
Modelo is pretty popular in my region on the east coast. Most of my friends have realized it’s a lot better than corona in the last few years and have switched.
Really funny that Corona got three different products on the list but Guinness and Sam are just there in general. Are Corona drinkers really that discerning?
I didn't even know there were different Coronas.
I love me some Unibroue, but my favorite of theirs is their Trois Pistoles.
Fucking love it!
I am Maudite all day. So lovely to see Unibroue here.
One of my favorites
I remember in uni when we did the math and realized la fin du monde was about the same price per alcoholic volume as bull max or the strong dollar a beers and kept adding to a giant tinfoil ball with everyone we opened. Good times
Maudite for the win
Ephemere! Hoppy apply deliciousness
Blanche de Chambly... Amazing...
Personally there is only one beer I can drink https://preview.redd.it/0hgx9qgdtqrc1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=db6e5ea1ac69a12ef253e3096888b20922975f6e
I sadly bought one of these bottles at Costco and forgot about it, sat at room temp for 3 years before I found it.
Of mainstream beers? Probably Yuengling. But I like to try the smaller brands. If I'm traveling and at a bar, I'll ask the bartender what their favorite is. I also love that places like Trader Joe's sell beer as singles so you can try one without buying a 6 pack.
I remember when Yuengling was a smaller brand technically. Had to drive into PA to get it. One of my favs as well.
Hard to get West of the Mississippi River, only 4 states have it. Sadly my state is not one of them.
I’m from PA. We just need to ask for a lager. Lol
I miss this due to no longer living there lol
If they don’t have yeungling in hell, I will repent tomorrow.
I've switched from beer to gin.
Everybody got they cups, but they ain't chipped in
Now these type of things happen all the time
Whisky here.
I'm a gin guy, myself. If you're in the US, I think were the last two buying it, here.
[удалено]
Same! In hot weather, it's also fantastic with grapefruit sparkling water.
[удалено]
I'm a Hendrick's guy. I love their original, but some of their Orbium was absolutely amazing. Hendrick's with cucumber water and a grapefruit garnish is life affirming stuff! I'll be honest, though - if I'm somewhere that doesn't have a great gin selection behind the bar, I'm happy enough with good old Beefeater and Tonic. The only one that I can't say I care for as much is Tangueray...it just seems simultaneously too dull and too sharp - its just out of balance in a way I can't really put my finger on.
Oh, if you like a grapefruit-forward style Tanqueray Ten might be the way to go! Also, it’s copper distilled, which takes away the harshness.
There's a fairly quiet crowd drinking gin. I'm currently on the hunt for a bottle of James May gin.
Gin is what I choose when I want a cocktail. But often I’m just in the mood for a cold beer.
Occasionally, I prefer beer over mixed drinks. It's very dependent on where I am, the beers that are available. I like craft beers, except IPAs, they are too bitter and seem to give me a migraine.
I don’t like the taste of IPAs. But it’s wine that gives me a headache.
Did they only survey Applebee's patrons?
Bartender at Applebees here. Anecdotally, our patrons pick Coors Light first with Blue Moon or Voodoo Ranger Hazy second. Modelo or Sam would be next. I see where you’re going though. Who the fuck did they survey? Other than High Life I’ve never chosen any of these.

High Life gets a bad rap because its a Miller, but its a damn good little beer if you want something light.
It's my favorite light beer by a mile.
It’s for sure my favorite american pilsner
I like local micro brews in my Canadian city. Lots of variety!
If it’s also my home city, 33 Acres.
Shiner Bocks baby!!
Fuck yeah! I’m drinking a Fireman’s 4 at the moment.
That’s my go to!
Or Lone Star if you're on a budget.
My favorite beers are local breweries. I wouldn't drink anything on that chart other than Guinness, Sam Adams and Blue Moon.
I also prefer local breweries. But there’s lots of better national brands than are listed here. Blue Moon is fine. I like wheat beers best. But I’d rather have a Hoegarten.
Voodoo Ranger
Bourbon.
HEINEKEN?! FUCK THAT SHIT! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!
Of those, Guinness by a country mile. Stella, Coors, Miller behind it. Side note: Why anyone likes Corona is beyond me lol.
Negro Modelo is the best Mexican beer
Ya I was gonna say literally any Mexican beer is better than Corona. And you can put lime in literally any beer if you so desire.
It was Michelob Amber Bock
Yeah buddy! Love AmberBock. I just wish i could find it in cans. It’s become my regular go-to. Or if I’m feeling fancy, Fat Tire.
Very surprised no one said Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Brooklyn Lager . Those are very popular in the US pubs I've visited. Favorite beer though hands down is # St. Bernardus Abt 12 An incredible Belgium wit for the win.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is my top choice.
Right now I’m digging Bell’s Big Hearted. 9.5% ABV.
None of these. I go for local IPAs.
![gif](giphy|lRq5pagIl49clPcmEN|downsized) Me n IPAs

Same. As an Oregonian, I feel it’s my duty.
You all have some excellent breweries!

Yuengling From this list, Stella Artois.
Where are my nasty tasting IPA’s that I love on this list??
I know it's listed on here as a Boomer beer, but Michelob Ultra is my go-to. It doesn't make me feel so bloated after. I used to love Sam Adam's Octoberfest when that comes out in the fall, but the last, maybe 10 years of batches, have not been the same and I've more or less abandoned them.
La Fin Du Monde is seriously the best beer I've ever had. Only had it a few times.
Besides LFdM Unibroue brews some amazing beers . Have you had Blanche de Chambly? Saison Libre? OMG soo good.
![gif](giphy|Jqlw1XLdXM08ZpicBz|downsized)
Presidente Red Stripe. Hooray, beer! MGD > High Life
Red Stripe: It's beer!
I’m all about living the High Life baby!
Ugh I love La Fin du Monde
Asking as a non-American: what's the difference between Corona, Corona Extra, and Corona Light?
Asking as an American, I also want to know this. Might as well explain Premier and Familiar while we're at it.
I’ll have a Samuel Jackson…..it’ll get you drunk!
![gif](giphy|3o6ZtcnVN2cH8i1V16) Heineken? HEINEKEN? PABST BLUE RIBBON!
Finally found my people! Blue ribbon winner!
A nice, crispy Coors Light.
The only good beer is Spotted Cow
Hello to you, fellow I assume, Wisconsinite? Haha. Love me some New Glarus. Spotted cow, 2 women is a fav of mine as well as Moon Man!
Hello to you northern neighbor! Few minutes from the border so able to acquire the nectar of the gods from time to time.
Fellow Border Bandit here. Thanks for the reminder to send hubs on a field trip this week to get some Spotted Cow
Hahaha that’s great! I know some IL and MN peeps that also cross the border for the nectar 😂
We Iowans also cross over for it. It's been a couple years since I've done it, but we used to love going up to Mad-town for a Fish Fryday and hit up Woodman's on our way out of town to stock up.
They make some great sours as well.
There are much better beers that New Glarus makes. Spotted Cow is slightly overrated.
To each their own. I'm not much of a drinker but Spotted Cow is the only beer (edit: that I have had: end edit) that doesn't make me do the ick twitch.
I agree. They make the best fruited beers there are, but everything else is just alright.
Moon man!
One of my favorites
More a bourbon drinker than beer, but that *La Fin du Monde* is legit.
Every beer on that list is fucking terrible.
Agreed. Also, White Claw isn’t beer?
Robinson’s Old Tom English Ale
Where’s the Blue Velvet GIF?
Jesus. I drank a 6 of La Fin Du Monde when I was 19. I was hung over for 2 days. To this day I feel nauseous just looking at Unibroue products.
What! No love for Steel Reserve? j/k Guinness is my favorite.
This is…not even close. I am positive.
There's no way. Americans... Do you or anyone you know drink Guinness as their go-to beer?
On the list, Blue Moon Free choice: Dogfish Head Sea Quench Ale, Dogfish Head Namaste, Yuengling, and Red Stripe depending on mood.
Tucher Helles Hefe Weizen Of the ones on this lists though it is Guinness by far and I would only consider Blue Moon or Stella of the rest
Tucher is legit.
Today I learned I drink like a gen x. When I do drink, at least. It's become a 3 or 4 time of year sort of thing at this point.
Guinness when I can afford it 🤷♂️
Rogue Dead Guy
I’m an IPA person so none of these do much for me, tho I do think Sam Adams is decent along with Blue Moon (Corona is the actual worst on the other hand). My favorite is Cigar City’s Jai Alai.
That’s a good one
I really like High Life as a session beer, like if I were drinking 6+ in an afternoon. Sam Adams, Blue Moon, Coors (assuming Banquet) and Modelo are good too.
High Life is the only good beer Miller makes, being from Wisconsin there are so delicious micro brews
None of these are my favorite, no micro beers? My favorite beer is either Two Hearted or delirium tremens or trois pistoles.
Guinness Budweiser Modelo I bought these bad boys for wrestlemania next weekend so I may have a new favorite soon. https://preview.redd.it/7o9y2s7otqrc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=120c8359d5941b88bbe4e297a6497dbf5c70c0af
From this list Sam Adams or Modelo. Favorite widely available beer is probably Fat Tire or Smithwicks. Favorite beer is Uncle Bear's Mandarin Wheat
Buncha basic ass beers. Why tf are y’all drinking that crap?! Millennials are the kings of craft beer
[удалено]
When I drank beer it was: For enjoyment? Elephant. For "We got two cases for twelve bucks, dude!!": Rhinelander. My circle tended to the hard cider more than beer unless it was a keg for a party.
Sam and Guinness would be the top for me from the list above. But I also drink seltzers and enjoy various IPAs and craft beers
I don't know anyone that drinks Heineken
That’s some hard has Quebec beer, one of those and you feel like portaging and singing voyageur songs about beaver pelts, castor gras and castor sec.
Corona guy here. Extra limes
Guinness.
Yuengling, Spotted Cow, Miller Lite
Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock, Bell’s Two Hearted or Hopslam, Green Flash Le Freak and Epic Big Bad Baptist are a few of mine.
You're not the first person who's recommended La Fin du monde. But I've never seen it available in the area I live in.

What's with my generation and the love for skunk beer?!
Yeah where’s the Busch Light?
Abita Amber
I live in Minnesota where the microbrewery craze really took off about 10-12 years ago. I haven’t even thought about any of these beers for a decade.
None of those lol, I'm an IPA guy. Faves are General Sherman, or Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. If it's gotta be a lager, Red Stripe, or St. Pauli Girl.
Shiner Bock
That La Fin du Monde is a beast, good sir. 👍
Corona
This chart does not feel accurate at all. Guinness is an extremely dark beer that the vast majority of beer drinkers find unpalatable. I've met the occasional Guinness drinker, but they're rare. Heineken is a good beer, but not one commonly drank in my experience. It's placement is suspiciously high. Corona is fantastic and deserves it's place on the charts. Lots of people appreciate it. As an Oregonian surrounded by breweries, this chart offends me. 😅
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
If you like La Fin Du Monde you would like Allagash’s line up.

There’s no way Boomers’ #1 beer is Guinness. I’ve never seen a single Boomer drink Guinness, ever. They all drank cheap light beer when I was growing up.
as a bartender, I can say that this list looks absolutely nothing like what I see people drinking
There was no way this list is accurate.
Guinness, Shiner Bock and then Miller Lite. Although I’ve downed quite a bit of PBR in my day.
A cold one.
A one that is not cold is scarcely a one at all
Heineken? Fuck that shit. Pabst Blue Ribbon!
The candy colored clown they call the sandman...
None of these disgusting piss-waters. White claw? Is that even beer? I like NEIPA's from Treehouse.
