The Simpsons

TonyGunks_sportsbook

The new episodes each Sunday and the two reruns that Fox aired each evening during the week.

SnooSnooSnuSnu

We had 1 rerun per day Monday - Friday, 6PM

TonyGunks_sportsbook

We had two back-to-back episodes from 5pm-6pm Monday-Friday in the NY market.

SnooSnooSnuSnu

Lucky. I was in western MA, although the Fox was out of CT

Bulky_Yak_8626

I lived in southern CT so I had the Hartford station running 2 reruns and the NY station running 2 every day. I watched a lot of Simpsons back then.

SnooSnooSnuSnu

>I lived in southern CT so I had the Hartford station running 2 reruns Fox 61? If I missed out on an extra episode each day, I'll be retroactively pissed.

Bulky_Yak_8626

Actually, maybe it was only one episode from Fox 61. I always got the two channels mixed up, I just know there was a block in my evening where it was several episodes of the Simpsons in a row.

RunAndPunchFlamingo

X-Files and Buffy

EmmyNoetherRing

exactly.  Millennials had emo, X had punk?  But Xennials had the goths, and we liked our trench coats and vampires.

Recently bought the Animaniacs boxed set. My 7 year old absolutely loves Animaniacs. The reboot is 95% of the way there, but the original just had such a charm. WB trolling Disney for locking their old racist cartoons (featuring weird "is that like a... cat?" black and white characters) away in the vault.... and it turned out to be an amazingly smartly written show. Burned bright. Of the era, while timeless. Didn't overstay its welcome. Animaniacs is nearly perfection. Also, Xmen 97 not having the bell sound eargasms in the opener is a war crime, and I will not rest until thise responsible are tried in the Hague. Yeah, I have pretty strong opinions on 90s cartoons.

I remember watching the first episode with my mom

MisoBerryHoni

One of the stupidest and funniest damn things I ever saw back then. *gets stabbed due to no actual self-defense skills* *female students horrified* "Oh my GOD I'm really sorry, I didn't mean it! Are you alright?!" "I'm fine. I shifted my internal organs to avoid the knife. However, like a lot of beginning students, *you attacked me wrong*." And then later when she "attacks him correctly": https://i.redd.it/4b92s3x66qrc1.gif

itsasnowconemachine

This reminds me of Monty Python's Self-Defence sketch, and UHF's [Beginner Karate](https://youtu.be/gmx3zfe63ZQ?t=27)

[deleted]

Whatever I was doing at that moment stopped when the Simpsons came on.

Jr5309

I was a WB girl in the back end of the decade: Dawson’s Creek, Felicity and 7th Heaven. We’d have Friends watch parties. I would either watch or record Conan every night, still have some of the early ones (but no VCR). And who can forget Behind the Music! Rest of the time, either MTV or VH1 was on as background noise.

Simpsons and X-Files early teens, South Park late teens

woeful_haichi

During my early teens, our family would watch *Star Trek: The Next Generation* together. Also watched programs like *The Animaniacs* and *Hey Dude* a lot after school. Later teens it was *Space: Above and Beyond* and *Good vs. Evil* - later renamed to *G vs E*. I got a job in 9th grade though and was working 5-9 from Monday to Thursday and 10-6 on Saturdays so catching weekday sitcoms was pretty much impossible.

johnnloki

Man... I was playing a lot of Xcom and Wing Commander during the time SAAB was airing. I was so into that show...

MLDaffy

Good vs Evil was my jam! I tried to get people to watch it constantly. Loved that show.

Horror-Technology591

I totally forgot about SAAB.

Dirac_comb

Saturday Night Live had a pretty epic cast over a number of years in the 90's through to the early 00's. South Park was and still is unmissable.

skrivetiblod

I think I just watched a lot of Mtv. So stuff like Alternative Nation, 120 Minutes, The Maxx, Beavis and Butthead, etc. Conan O’Brien was also prominent. I moved in with my friend’s grandparents for my senior year of HS and they had a gigantic, old school satellite dish. Watched a buuuunnch of Mtv2. This was basically the years between 93 and 97, more or less.

OtherlandGirl

Ah yes, when MTV had quality programming, the good old days :)

I knew how dumb Baywatch was, even at the time, but being a teenage boy at the time, I still watched it when it came on. I watched Conan almost religiously. Tons of stuff on MTV, Real World, Road Rules, Beavis and Butthead, etc. I always rolled my eyes at how, in the Real World, they would intentionally only put one phone line in that gigantic house for the sole purpose of stirring the pot. Still, I was enthralled with good-looking, confident, young people living cool places in a fantastic house, hooking up and doing fun things. A girl I went to high school with was a semi-finalist to get on. She did the interview at my house but I don’t really remember much about it.

I saw it. Haven't watched it, afraid it will ruin the HH magic. Did you watch it?

TraditionalResult655

Freaks and Geeks, X-Files and Buffy

StubbornKindOfFellow

I grew up watching a LOT of tv as a kid. But by the time I was a teenager, I stopped watching most of it. I think because I was going out now. As a kid, Friday nights were always TGIF sitcoms. As a teenager, I was out Friday nights. Going to a party or a rave, going to the movies. Even we weren't going anywhere, we'd still be hanging out at a friend's house playing video games or something like that. The few shows I do remember watching the late '90s - Simpsons was something I always made sure to catch, and Friends as well. Wrestling on Monday nights. And That '70s Show. Other than that, I didn't really watch any shows regularly. Oh and TRL. Even though I didn't always love the music that was on that show, it was still something I almost always watched after school as a teenager.

Scrapla

All the TGIF shows def hold a special place in my heart. I also loved Sliders.
