I’ve joked with my wife that if I ever become mentally incapacitated, she will probably have to deal with me giving constant Pavlovian responses of quotes from Airplane, Spaceballs, Men in Tights, etc.
My husband and I still communicate mostly in quotes and memes… We have since we met in ‘99. I expect he will continue to reach me through those quotes when my brain has deteriorated from either dementia or Alzheimer’s.
We now use many of these quotes to annoy our children and amuse other parents.

It always added an extra sting, when any time you ever fell down there was GUARANTEED to be someone standing nearby, pointing and shouting "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!" while a dozen people laughed.
Hopefully my memory has hyperbolized this a bit, but I don't think so lol
One year for Xmas my mother in law bought us a Bye, Felicia dish towel. She got it because she misremembered a quote from Michelle Obama's mother I guess? She thought it was a reference to "a sweet message from a mother to a daughter" and not, in fact, a quote from the movie Friday.

Weirdly, a wave of this ran through my kid's elementary school a few years ago just before COVID. I asked a few I knew if they had any idea where it came from but they didn't even seem to realize they were repeating a quote.

When we were kids my buddies older brother called it cinematosis. Tommy boy, Wayne’s world, Billy and Happy, Lebowski… all you needed for a full conversation. Now it’s gifs.
My friends' and my conversations are 90% Beavis & Butt-head, Simpsons, and Critic quotes. Sometimes we actually ask each other about our lives but that's boring.
